Rise Above The Storm

Dom had just entered the kitchen, when he heard Lauren rush to the bathroom again and made a decision. With a frown he went upstairs and tapped gently on the bathroom door, opening it. "Let's go, we're getting you checked out at the hospital."

With a roll of her eyes, Addison nodded and looked around. "We can go now if you want?"

Brian chuckled, "Don't roll your eyes at me." Brian smiled. "Alright let's go." Brian told her getting the car seat out of her car and fasting it into his truck. Helping her out as much as he could he smiled getting into the drive's side.

Lauren sighed gripping to her stomach. Hearing Dom she let it fly out again as she sighed. "I'll be ok." Lauren whispered barley above a whisper.

"Babe," Dom said, moving to crouch at her side and rubbing her back, "I've heard of morning sickness, but this is stupid and I know for a fact that you're in pain."

Addison watched as Brian secured the car seat, unsure of why he was helping and fighting back the fear that it was all out of pity. He was different from the guys she'd met on the car scene, all the guys here were and it made her feel safe.

Smiling over at her as he drove, Brian took and looked at her noticing something shift in her. "Are you ok? You know you're safe right." Brian told her softly.

Lauren sighed looking at him as she frowned knowing he was right. Managing to get up with his help she wiped her mouth off and rinsed it out. Going out to the car with Dom it wasn't long till they were at the hospital and she was being taken to the maternity ward, checked before they let Dom back with her. Seeing him emerge she held to his hand sighing as the OB on call came in and checked her. Letting them know she was dehydrated and she had contracted a stomach bug on top of the morning sickness as well.

"Why are you helping me?" Addison inquired quietly, giving Seb back his pacifier and stroking his cheek with her thumb.

"Glad that we came in now?" Dom asked, squeezing her hand and kissing her head, "We need to make sure that you're drinking more water throughout the day."

Brian looked at her, "I like you." Brian stated keeping his eyes on the road.

Lauren looked at Dom sighing, "Yeah I am." She whispered feeling the nausea medicine helping her. "The dehydration was from all the puking." She made a face as she adjusted herself a little hearing the baby's heart beat. "He or she has a strong heart rate." She smiled.

"You're helping me because you like me?" Addison repeated with a frown, "I don't understand why, I'm a mess with a baby and... my life is far from together."

"I know, but drinking more water will ensure that you have fluids in you if you do puke..." Dom replied as he listened to the heartbeat, "He or she is going to be strong like their parents."

Brian nodded, "Yeah, is that a crime?" Brian questioned her. "No one is a mess. They are their own being with flaws, and some can over look." Brian told her.

Lauren looked at Dom nodding her head, "That it is." Lauren held his hand listing to their child's heartbeat as she sighed tired.

"Not a crime," Addison mumbled, looking up as Brian pulled into a parking space and climbing out to grab Seb's pushchair, "There was a lot of stuff that I had to leave behind... are you sure about this?"

Brian smiled, "If I wasn't sure I wouldn't be here." He told her softly. "Whatever you need." Brian told her as they entered the stores.

They had been looking around for nearly half an hour, when Seb started to fuss and Addison took him out to soothe him. "Can you push this, please?" she asked Brian, bouncing Seb lightly and looking at the bottles to make sure that she got him the right ones.

"Oh my goodness, you two sure do make beautiful babies," came a voice from behind them, causing Addison to glance over at the store worker and smile.

Brian pushed the stroller and looked at her, "That I can do." Brian told her. "What bottles are we looking for?" Brian questioned her curiously.

Hearing the worker Brian smiled, "We do, thank you." Brian told her as he saw Addison look at him. "What?" Brian smiled as the worker walked off. "Let me help you, I want to do this, Addison. I have seen you time and time again at the races. At Tejs's." Brian told her honestly.

"I didn't say anything... I was kind of expecting you to freak out," Addison admitted quietly, "We just need ones for the right age... Tej has always been there for me."

"Tej is an amazing person." Brian smiled at her. "Here are some that are for 0+ months." Brian told her.

"Perfect," Addison told him with a smile, grabbing some pacifiers and looking at Brian, "These are going to be lifesavers, especially if I'm working or whatever."

"What about diapers, wipes, blankets, bedding, crib or bassinet, etc?" Brian questioned seeing her eye him. "I know a thing or two about babies." Brian smiled at her.

"We can pick that stuff up on our way to the checkout," Addison told him with an amused look, "I see you looking, do you want to hold him?"

Brian nodded his head taking him, "Hey little man." Brian smiled cradling him in his arms as he let Addison take over. "What theme are you going to do his nursery?" Brian inquired.

"Blue and one is traditional for a boy, right?" Addison asked with a frown, looking at the hanging mobiles and smiling when she spotted a unicorn one, "If my little boy grows up to like unicorns and cars, I'm going to be one happy momma."

Brian smiled at her, "I am sure he will." Brian told her smiling as he walked alongisde of her holding Seb in his arms smiling at how content he was.

Seeing Dom stretched out in the recliner in the maternity room she frowned, "I am fine. Go home and rest, Dom. Don't make me get Mia." Lauren warned him.
