Rise Above The Storm

"I'm sorry," he said, holding his hands up in mock surrender, "Let me go track down this doctor of yours."

Lauren giggled softly, "Don't be mean." She warned him smiling at her fiance pushing herself up slowly.

"Hey Doc," Dom called as he spotted the doctor at the nurses station, "Just wondering if I was gonna be able to take Lauren Toretto home?"

"I was just about to bring the discharge papers to her room," the doctor told him.

Addison had just finished putting together Seb's changing table, when her phone rang and she answered it.

"Hey T," she greeted, "Everything okay?"

"Yeah, just thought I'd let you know that your mom and Kevin have been asking around about you," Tej informed her, "Nobody is going to say anything, but just thought that you should know."

"Thanks," Addison replied with a sigh, hanging up and getting back to what she had been doing.

Lauren took and adjusted herself again sighing. Holding her phone as she saw Mia staring at her. "I hate hospitals you know this!" Lauren exclaimed.

"You have hated hospitals since I can remember. Remember that time you broke your ankle." Mia grinned.

"Remember me making you stay with me." She winked laughing. "Don't go there with me Mia. I will smack you." Lauren winced laughing.

"Are you ok?" Mia questioned.

"Hurting a little. I am hoping that whack a doo let's me go home with Dom." Lauren admitted.

Brian looked at Addison as he walked in with the last of bags from the store. "Are you ok?" Brian questioned seeing her kind of upset.

Dom returned to the room with the doctor in tow, leaning against the wall and watching as he placed the discharge papers in front of Lauren.

"Yeah," Addison stated with a small smile, "My mom and Kevin have been asking around for me is all..."

"Yay! Thank you doc!" Lauren smiled watching the nurse remove the IV and baby monitor. Smiling she got out of the bed with Dom's help and slipped into her clothes. Smiling she left the hospital with him heading home. "Babe." Lauren looked at him. "Can we stop at Luke's, and get me a huge peanut butter, oreo milkshake?" She smiled.

Brian frowned, "I promise you're safe. No one will talk. They come near. They'll get what is coming to them, I promise." Brian told her yawning a little. "Do you need anything else, if not I am going to head out and head home to get ready for work tomorrow." Brian smiled at her.

"Anything for you babe," Dom answered with a smile.

"I think we're sorted... thank you for today," Addison said, kissing his cheek and offering him a smile, "I guess I will see you at work."

Lauren smiled at Dom as they took and headed to Luke's cafe, to get her order. She smiled holding his hand as they got it and headed home.

Brian nodded his head, You're welcome." Brian told her. "See you later." He smiled writing his number down. "If you need me here is my number." He told her.

With a nod, Addison watched as Brian left and finished putting together the last piece of furniture for the nursery. Everything seemed okay when he was around, but now she felt alone and vulnerable. It was a little after midnight when Seb woke up crying and she went to get him, preparing a bottle.

"How're you feeling now?" Dom asked Lauren, watching as she ate and smiling.

Laying in his bed, Brian took and sighed to himself. He was already missing being around Addison and Seb. But knew she more than likely needed her space though.

"Better." Lauren smiled as she finished up the food and began sipping on her milkshake. "Thank you." She smiled sweetly at him.

Unable to sleep, Addison moved to the sofa and stared at the number that Brian had given her. He had promised that she would be safe, but, there alone, she didn't feel safe and wondered if he was sleeping. With a deep breath, she tapped out a quick message and added the number before pressing send.

Are you awake?

Hearing his phone beep, he took and saw the message.

Yes.

This is going to sound stupid, but... I don't feel safe here on my own Addison replied, mentally cursing herself for being weak.

Want me to come over? I don't mind. Brian texted her sitting up and waiting on her response.

Only if you don't mind, I know that you have work and need to be up early.

About fourty minutes later, Brian pulled up at Dom's place. Going to the apartment he knocked on the door lightly waiting on Addison to answer.

Addison had just settled Seb back down, when there was a light knock on the door and she opened it to reveal Brian. "I'm sorry for dragging you back here," she said, stepping aside and closing the door as he walked in.

"Don't be sorry, it's ok." He promised walking in. "You ok? They didn't contact you again did they?" Brian asked her.

"No, I just..." Addison began, before falling silent and sighing, "I'm scared that they're going to take Seb, that I'm not good enough to be his mom."

Brian took and nodded his head, "I am not going anywhere's, I promise." Brian told her.
