Rise Above The Storm

"Meh." Lauren frowned.

"You ok?" Brian asked

"What's up babe?" Dom asked.

"I'm fine," Addison told him with a smile, "I really need to get Seb's bottle."

"Just minor cramps." She told Dom closing her eyes.

"I will get it." Brian smiled.

"I'm sorry," Addison said to Lauren as she nodded in response to Brian, "The stress from today is my fault, I should have just handled my mom and Kevin myself."

Lauren looked at her, "Addison it isn't your fault. I am stubborn and over done it. I am going to have to take it a little easier." Lauren admitted.

Sat on the sofa half an hour later, Addison fed Seb and listened to the conversation going on around her. The doorbell soon rang and Addison smiled as a familiar voice reached her ears, feeling herself relax as Tej emerged.

"Hey man." Brian man hugged Tej and smiled as he returned to Addison and Seb's side.

Listing to Mia lecture her she smacked her arm, "Hush." Lauren said plating the food in the kitchen as she sighed at the pain. "I am not overdoing it. I am just plaiting food." She told Mia seeing her look at her. "If you go bother Dom, while he's enjoying family and friends. I will murder you in your sleep, Mia Toretto." She warned her.

"No you won't. You threaten her all the time." Vince laughed getting him a beer.

"Shut up." Lauren flipped Vince off sighing.

Without hesitation, Addison allowed Tej to take Seb and watched as the man that had become like her brother cooed at her son. She was blessed to have this, thankful that Seb would grow up and know something other than the hell hole she'd grown up in.

Brian watched a far and smiled. Sitting down he took and sipped his beer.

"So glad that this little dude takes after you in the looks department," Tej commented as he settled Seb in his arms, "Plus you know that he's going to be into cars."

"How could he not be?" Dom added with a chuckle, "Even his mom is into cars."

"He'll have plenty of role models around to point him in the right direct," Addison added with a smile.

"I'll be his favorite of course," Tej stated, causing Addison roll her eyes and glance back as Vince spoke.

"If there's going to be a favorite, then uncle V will be it."

Brian laughed watching them as he smiled at the group talking to Seb.

"Hey," Addison whispered as the others focused on Seb, "I have a feeling that his favorite will be you... Mine is."

Brian smiled at Addison, "I hope I am his favorite." Brian smiled down at her. "I am glad I am yours." He told her.

"So, I'm thinking of racing on Sunday," Addison said, drawing Tej's attention and continuing, "I can't hide away forever, they'll find me eventually and I need to show them that I'm not going to run back."

"I think that's a great idea," Dom stated, "We'll all be there anyway, so you won't have to do it alone..."

"I think that would be a great idea." Brian told her.

"I'm just not sure what to do about Seb," Addison mumbled.

"We'll take him with us," Dom said, "Little man can hang out with the crew, I'm sure Vince will look after him and we could drag Mia along as well."

Brian stood with Addison the night of the race. His arm around her he smiled kissing the side of her head. "You're going to kick ass." Brian smiled.

"My car hasn't been used in a while, but Tej has been keeping it running," Addison admitted, scanning the crowd and watching as Tej pulled up in her supra.

"Your car my lady," Tej said as he climbed out, laughing and handing over the keys, "Fresh start... you're going to need a fresh look for your baby."

"I'm already working on it."

Dom watched as Tej handed over the keys, moving forward and circling the car.

"She's in great shape," Dom commented, "Let's see what she can do."

Brian took and looked at Addison and smiled kissing her lips. "Good luck." Brian told her smiling as he stepped back.
