A small sigh escaped from Vince as he allowed Charlotte to continue to speak. "I'm no knight," Vince said simply as he slowly set the board game down onto the coffee table. "I'm far too fucked up for that sort of thing. Nobility is far out of my reach at this point in my life." Raising his eyes, Vince looked at Charlotte and allowed for a small chuckle to escape past his lips as he listened to her freaking out. Charlotte was amusing, thinking that she could get out of this whole thing so easily.

"I am well aware that you're human, Charlotte," Vince said as he raised a hand and tapped his nose. Hinting that he could smell her. She was completely human, and yet she smelled extremely delectable to him. "You can always run babe, but I will change you." He was being honest. "You can turn me down, but my wolf won't accept it, you meant o much to it. To me. I won't allow you to get close to another man. No matter how hard you try to escape from me. I will find you."

When asked what he was going to do with her. A small smile slowly came across Vincent's lips. "I plan to woo you. Make you mine." Vince slowly moved towards Charlotte and raised a hand to slowly run his fingers through her hair. "You can fight me every step of the way, but I will protect you for the rest of your life. You just have to accept that." He told her as he took a small step back to allow her some space to breathe, to think.

"Watch a movie," Vince said as he took a couple more steps back and then slowly turned to head towards the door. "Think about it, the red string of fate brought us together Charlotte." With that, Vince closed the door to the entertainment room and headed to the main living room. Allowing Charlotte to have some time alone to think about what he said.

It felt like a pair of hands had reached into Charlotte's chest and were now squeezing down on her heart as she listened to Vincent's words. How he would chase her, would never let her get close to another. It was disturbing. That this man, who in many ways was a stranger to Charlotte, was so dead set on her. Why his wolf picked her, Charlotte had no clue. But this only settled the fact that she needed to leave. Surely, there was a way to be able to get away from a wolf. Or, even better, a way to break this link he had to her entirely.

Tingles ran along the areas that Vincent's fingers brushed against. Her breath was already being held due to his sudden closeness, how he was now playing with her hair. Though his words made her ears grow red and her head turn away from him, unable to look Vincent in the eyes as he mentioned wooing her. It seemed that, already, he was so possessive. "I won't," She whispered back to him.

Once Vincent had taken a few steps away from her, Charlotte was able to breathe again. The tightness that had been around her heart and chest left her once the man had closed the door behind him, leaving her along. He told her to think about it, but there was nothing to think about. No red sting of fate brought them together. It was a string of kidnapping and unfortunate choices made by the wolf inside of him.

Though she did need to think about other things. Like how to get out of here. More then before, Charlotte realized she needed to leave quickly. At first, she thought he was just foolishly helping her. But now, it was clear, he was just an insane stalker.

Once she calmed herself down enough, Charlotte sat down on the couch. There was no doubt that it had been a very long 24 hours. She laid down, placing her head against one of the pillows as she continued to think about her next step. What could she do to get away from someone who was faster than her and had the ability to smell her scent? Perhaps, the best thing to do first was speak to the others in the house. What were the chances that they didn't agree with Vincent?

There was a cold chill in the air tonight. Colder than the normal autumn wind that blew this time of year. A chill that could sink into one's soul, sends a dark hand to wrap around one's heart and squeeze it till it stops. The danger was coming towards them, Vince could sense it before anything became apparent. They had visitors, Charlotte's little friends had found them and wanted her back. An well, he wasn't going to go down without a fight.

Upstairs, Vincent had made sure that Charlotte was locked in his bedroom. The windows, locked. Luke was on guard of the locked door. Marcus and Max were outside in their wolf forms already. Patroling around the house. Making sure that they were on their A-game when trying to sense what direction the bastards were going to try and sneak up on them from. To try and undermine Vincent was not a smart move on their part. He's got war experience, both in human form and wolf form. So either way, the supposed friends of Charlotte weren't going to have an easy time trying to get past him.

Then, all too soon Vincent's hair raised on the back of his neck. They were here, he could see their glowing golden eyes as they prowled towards his home. Raising the right side of his upper lip in an annoyed gesture, Vince watched as they slowly shifted back to being humans. The moonlight above them making it easy for even humans to see the shift before their eyes. "Leave," Vince said in his dominating voice as he glared at the small group that had come into his territory without being invited. The group ignored him though and it seemed like they didn't give any indication that they'd give in so easily either.

It did not take a genius to realize that something was going on. While she had no clue what it was, there was a certainty that the wolves were up to something. Vincent had been so insistent in getting her upstairs to bed. And when they were there, she watched how he walked around the room, glazing at everything before leaving. Now there was also someone sitting outside the door to the room she was in. Charlotte could hear him talk every so often or shift in front of the door so she knew that someone was out there.

The young woman had taken a seat on the bed, looking out of the window. From there, she could watch two of the members circling the house, along with Vincent. Charlotte was still trying to understand why the mood had shifted like this. Trying to find out if she could see the truth from the window.
The group of wolves came closer towards the house, stopping only once the leader of them stopped moving. The man shifted back into his human form, turning to Vincent, who was clearly the alpha of the pack. The man was older than Vincent, to the point where his human form was now in his late 40s. It meant that he had been around for a long time and he had no intention of shortening it now. "We have no desire to fight you." The alpha said. "We only wish for the human girl, Charlotte, back into our custody."

The all black wolf besides the alpha shifted as well, standing at his side. In his human form, it was clear to see that it was Oliver, one of the men that Charlotte had been spending time with when Vincent snuck onto their land. "We have already marked her as our own." Oliver said. "We have no intention of leaving without her."

That was when the banging on the window started. As some of the wolves looked up, they were able to see Charlotte inside the top floor of the house, hitting on the window for their attention. Once Oliver looked up, he could start to hear the muffle screaming of Charlotte, trying to help 'Help' through the window.

Watching the wolves as they approached him and his pack members caused Vincent to snort. He wasn't intimidated to see them in their wolf forms. Hell even when they showed their human forms he wasn't intimidated. He was old enough as well as smart enough to know that the odds weren't completely in his favor at the moment. Some of his packmates weren't here yet. They were finishing things in their old home, cleaning up a small mess that had happaned while they were there.

"I can't help you there," Vincent said calmly as he kept his eyes on the supposed leader. Completely ignoring Oliver's presence as he wasn't the leader and didn't need to be respected as such. "A couple more days and your mark will be dissolved from her. Allowing for the human to be free to choose where she wants to go." For Vince to claim her. "So just be gone, I won't release her from my custody until then." He was never going to release her from his custody.

"Now," Vincent said, deciding that the talk about Charlotte was done and over with already. "I politely request that you all leave my territory. Unless you want a fight on your hands." Vince said, his canine's slowly popping through his gums as he spoke. His gaze hardening as he glared at the one who was in charge. "I will not allow any of you to lay a paw on my mate." It was probably a stupid move to let them know that Charlotte was his mate, but oh well. If it was something that could help prove his point, then so be it. He wouldn't go down without a fight, then he'd say it.

The leader remained stoic as Vincent spoke, the young alpha's words affected him none. Though, Oliver, was seemingly getting more irritated. When Vincent revealed that Charlotte was his mate, Oliver's whole body went tense and the leader frowned. There was growing heard from the other wolves in the man's pack as well. This certainly was not what any of them wanted to hear.

"It sounds like you do not intend to let her choose where she wants to go." The man said before glancing up at the window where Charlotte was still pounding furiously and yelling for help. "She has already chosen, do you not think so?"

Before the man could continue on, an all grey wolf jumped from the sidelines and aimed right at Vincent, with every intention of going for his neck.
Charlotte let out a loud gasp as she saw one wolf leap at Vincent, which essentially caused all hell to break loose. She hit at the window harder, with every intention of breaking it. There was no doubt that they saw her and now she could only hope that they were here to save her. That had to be why they would come speak to Vincent.

When the window would not break, Charlotte went to the door, fighting with the knob before slamming her hands against the door. "Let me out!" She screamed at whoever was on the other side.

A small snort escaped from Vincent as he listened to the other pack speak. "She's a human thrust into our world. She does not know what's good for her." Vince said boredly, his eyes narrowing slightly as he listened to Charlotte's friend. He was not a happy camper and was sure to be the one to case shit to do gown. Only, he was slightly surprised when a grey wolf seemed to come out of nowhere and try to attack him.

Acting quickly on instinct, Vincent quickly dodged the wolf at the same time that he shifted into his wolf form. Then, he turned and attacked the wolf that had attacked him back. His own packmates came to join the fray and attack the other wolves. Some of them were fighting one of one, while some were on two verses one. They were a little outnumbered, but that didn't mean anything. Vince and his pack were strong fighters. Known for their fighting skills from where they had first come from. Branching off from quite a brutal pack themselves actually.

As Vince finished with the grey wolf, bleeding from some wounds on his right shoulder. Vince moved towards the leader in a standoff. His lips raising in a warning growl. Ready to snap the man's neck if he so dared try to come forth and attack more of his family. Vince was a loyal man and he was also quite protective. If anyone laid a hand on someone he cared about, he wouldn't blink an eye if he had to go to hell and back to avenge them.

Once the fight started, the leader and Oliver were both quick to turn back into their wolf forms. In an instant, it was chaos. Blood, paw, and fur every which way. Though the leader was standing strong amongst it, his eyes sharp on Vincent, knowing that he would come to him to fight. He was ready as Vincent came forward and then he struck. They struggled together, both fighting for dominance. However, the other pack's leader was not willing to allow this to go far. This was not meant to be a true war, a true battle yet. He just wanted to come and see what this new pack was made of. So, before anyone was able to truly get injured, he knocked Vincent down and called for his pack to retreat, howling loudly before they all ran off into the forest.
Charlotte heard the howl in the distance, causing her to stop pounding on the door. She ran over to the window, her hands pressing against it as she looked out at the scene. A large frown on her face as she watched what, she could only assume was her friend's pack, running away. It was hard to tell as she didn't know who was who amongst the wolves but as no one was currently inside to save her, and the stranger behind the door was still at his post, she could only assume that they had lost and Vincent won. The young woman slammed her fist against the wall in frustration but quickly retracted her hand with a cry, having accidentally hit the frame of the window sill.

A few tears started down her cheeks; both out of frustration and the pain she felt in her hand. She would not be getting out of there tonight. Charlotte fell back into the bed, grabbing the blanket and hiding her body underneath it, burying her face into the pillow. For a moment, she felt so close to freedom. It had both came and left her so quickly. She needed to get out of here but how in the Hell was she going to do that?

The fight was over faster than Vincent had anticipated. The alpha of the pack that Charlotte's friends with were smart enough to retreat, sensing that they were to evenly match. Unfortunately, though, it also showed that Vince wasn't as strong a leader as the old man. He could control his pack, but the old guy easily pushed him over as well. Which was something that happaned rarely but still bruised his ego. So, with a wounded pack, Vince commanded for everyone to stand down. They needed to get cleaned up before the pack decides to come after them once more.

Shifting back into his human form. Vince could feel the sting of his cuts lessoning. His busted shoulder healing but was still bruised pretty badly. Small cuts were easy to heal with a shift, bruised or broken bones were another story. Walking towards the house, Vincent grabbed a pair of shorts that one of his pack members gave him and slipped them on before walking into the house. Being careful to hide the pain that he was in. Weakness was not something that Vince took pride in showing. Especially in front of his pack members.

Moving towards his bedroom where Charlotte was, felt like it took forever. Vincent wasn't sure how long it's been since he'd been in such a strong fight. All he knew though, was that it'd been to long since he'd fought such a worthy opponent. Once he got to his bedroom, Vince walked in after dismissing Lucas and walked inside. He was going to go and showing, get the stink of the other pack off of him as well as clean any blood off. Except for the sight of Charlotte stopped him in his tracks. "You hurt your hand?" Vince stated more so then asked as he looked at the hand that she used to hit the side of the window. Walking over, Vince could clearly see that it was slowly starting to swell and bruise. A sprain would be Vince's guess.

"Come, I have some wraps in the bathroom," Vince said quietly as he slowly backed away from the human and walked towards his bathroom. Walking inside, Vince took notice that he looked like shit. His bare chest was covered in dirt, blood, and some scratch marks that were fading slowly. Surely, Charlotte would be more scared of him than accept his help. A small sigh escaped from the Alpha, he just needed to focus on helping the human and then focus on his disaster of an appearance.

As she heard the door to the bedroom open, Charlotte tried to hide her face more into the blanket and curl up on the bed. At this point, she didn't want to talk or see whoever came in. She wanted to be left alone. Though the sound of Vincent's voice caused her body to tense up, her good hand wrapping around the blanket tightly. At first, the young woman didn't react or respond to his words. Though his steps towards her seemed loud and were grating on her ears.

Her fingers twitched and a shot of pain consumed her hand before running up her arm. She shifted on the bed uncomfortably, feeling restless and irritated. Taking the corner of the blanket, Charlotte threw it off of her body, allowing it to fall down onto the floor. She sat up, now looking over at the half man- half wolf that was walking across the room towards the bathroom. He looked fucking terrible. Dirt, blood, mud and scars all over him. Perhaps the look on the outside was matching the within. Vincent was a fighter, someone who was willing to hurt people and get hurt. Someone who was willing to push his will on others even if it meant fighting to the death. It scared her.

"I want to go home," Charlotte spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. A few tears started to slide down her cheeks. The frustration and fear were rising up in her small frame. Before Charlotte even realized it, she was clutching down on her thigh, her nails pressing into her leg and she was screaming. "I WANT TO GO HOME! BRING ME HOME!" Her heart was beating a little faster now, realizing that she had started screaming and that she was clutching - or rather trying to clutch - onto her leg with her bad hand. It hurt. A lot.

Charlotte relaxed her hand as much as she could, although her fingers weren't moving all that much due to the swelling. The silent tears were rolling down her cheeks a bit faster like a gentle summer rain. Was Vincent going to be angry with her for yelling? She felt so confused. Was she right to be scared? Was he going to hurt her? Charlotte knew she shouldn't try to run but there was an urge to. To run or hide under the bed. An even smaller part of her wanted to punch him but her throbbing hand was a reminder not to. "I just want to go home," The woman said again, her voice soft now. No longer yelling as she was afraid of what the consequences would be of that.

Not a peep escaped from Vince as he grabbed a washcloth and got it wet with some cold water. Wringing it out, Vince made sure the thing wasn't dripping wet with cold water before he headed back to the bedroom. His lips pursed together as he slowly moved towards Charlotte. Then, he kneeled beside her on the bed and lightly took the injured hand into his larger one, and placed a small kiss to the back before resting it on the bed as he placed his cold washcloth on it.

"I know," Vince said quietly, remembering what he had heard her yell at him. What he heard her yell at the other pack for. She was trapped here with someone she didn't freak know and was suddenly meeting creatures that shouldn't freaking exist. Frankly, Vince would want to just go home as well if he was in her position. "I wish it didn't need to be like this, Charlotte. I wish I was normal, not a beast. Then, I could treat you like how you deserve to be treated. With kindness and affection." Vince lifted the washcloth for a moment to check on her hand. The swelling had stopped but it still looked a little red so he put the washcloth back over her hand.

"As soon as I'm sure the other pack won't kill you like I think they're planning, I'm going to let you go," Vince said quietly, hating himself for ever thinking that. "I'll do right by you, Charlotte. I promise, one day. You'll be home again." Vince kept his eyes down on her hand the whole time he spoke. Not wanting to know how much hate for him that she was harboring inside of her human body. "I'm sorry, Charlotte."

There was a tightness in her chest as Vincent made his way over. She was afraid of what he was going to do, if there would be some kind of punishment for yelling. Perhaps he would take out the fight he had outside on her. As it had been her friends that came and bothered them. Though as Vincent knelt down in front of her and kissed the back of her injured hand, it was like the wind was just knocked out of her sails.

It was hard not to believe what Vincent had been telling her this whole time. He had been proven right, on a few things. And it was becoming a possibility to Charlotte that Vincent had been speaking the truth about mates today as well. With the gentleness that the man continued to show her, it would make sense if there was something there for him. Even when she thought or feared the worse from Vincent, he continued to show her the best. Both in the way he handled her but in the way Vincent spoke to her.

She was still scared. Perhaps he would turn on her. Charlotte still hated him for forcing her here. She still wanted to go home, be around those who she cared about, those who weren't harboring this frightening secret. But... perhaps she needed to calm down a bit. To not get in her own head so much. Maybe Charlotte just needed to be cautious but not completely frightened. "They are not trying to kill me," Charlotte whispered to him.

Charlotte hesitated for a moment but then her good hand reached out towards him, laying gently on his head. She ran her hands through his hair for a moment. Maybe he was as devoted to her as he made it seemed earlier today? Just to a scary level that seemed to not always work out in her favor. But, maybe she could get it to work in her favor? "I am going to hold you to that promise, Vincent."

When Charlotte placed her hand on his head, Vincent couldn't help but freeze. Was she going to hit him? She was pretty mad at this whole thing, he knew that. So, he froze for a moment to wait for what he deserved, except. She did something he wasn't expecting. A small sigh escaped from Vince as he closed his eyes. Savoring the feeling of her soft fingers as they ran through his hair. Her scent slowly coaxing him into a more relaxed state. Making the tension that he'd felt in his body dissipate.

"We don't know that for sure, Charlotte," Vince said quietly as he slowly lifted his head to look Charlotte in the eyes. It was a domination thing for his kind, but for humans. He knew it as a way to show that one meant something. That the eyes showed expressions that were hard to read with just a couple of words. Reaching up, Vince slowly grasped onto the hand that was on his head and lowered it. Turning it over, Vince slowly pressed a light kiss to the inside of her wrist. He could feel her pulse under her skin from that spot, to gauge how she was feeling to the soft moment of affection he was offering to her. That he rarely ever showed to anyone in the pack.

Hearing Charlotte holding him to the little promised caused a small smile to slowly spread across Vince's lips. This was the home he was referring to, one day. She'll realize it as well. "I'm trustworthy, Charlotte. You can count on it." Vince said quietly. "Now, let's get that hand wrapped up. I don't know if it's sprained, bruised, or broken. So it's best to do the most intensive care that we can do for you." Vince said as he slowly stood up. "I'll get the wraps for you." An with that, Vince went to get the first aid kit that was hidden under his bathroom sink. One too many times he's had to stitch himself up, so wrapping a hand was going to be a cakewalk for the young Alpha.

    -The next day-

It had not taken long for Charlotte to come up with a plan. After Vincent had wrapped her wrist up and she was laying in bed, it was all that she could think about. How could she prove that her friends had no intentions to hurt her? At one point, the thought of just asking Vincent to talk to them came to mind but after what happened today, she didn't believe he would do that. So, what could she do? Charlotte had to go see them, to prove that she could be around them safely but Vincent couldn't know.

Luckily for her, it didn't take all night for Charlotte to come up with a plan. So she was able to sleep soundly and by the afternoon, she was enacting her plan. Which, actually, had been harder than she thought it would be. Though that was because one of the other wolves was able to determine that her wrist was sprained. Which meant she couldn't use it at all when making cookies. But, nonetheless, Charlotte managed to get the job done and even with a surprise inside. Nyquil.

Charlotte couldn't believe how easy it was to get the men to come eat it. Hell, one of them was waiting by the oven when they were cooking. So the moment they came out of the oven, the pack was running to them and stuffing their faces. Charlotte even managed to get one in the fuss. The only one she didn't drug with Nyquil.

Once they have scarfed down the first batch, it was not long before all of the men had decided to go lay down somewhere, thinking they were just tired from a sugar high. Even the guy on watch, who was meant to stay awake, fell asleep at his post. With a little smirk on her face, and her injured arm pressed into her body, Charlotte was running towards the boarder. She just needed to get to them.

To be honest, Vincent was a little suspicious when Charlotte decided to make the pack cookies. She had just been asking him to go home, and now, she was trying to make friends with him and his pack members? Something wasn't adding up, although Vince urged the idea to disappear. He really wanted to just think that it was Charlotte wanting to be nice. To try and blend in. To try and understand that for now, until Vince was certain that the other pack wasn't going to hurt her, he was going to protect her.

So, once the cookies were done in the oven and cool enough to eat. Vince snacked on them and was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. It had been ages since he'd actually had a homemade cookie as his parents weren't very good cooks. Often getting food that you'd just throw into a microwave oven instead of ordering take-out. The cookies made Vince think of a time when he was actually completely happy when he felt safe.

Then, before he knew it. Vince was falling asleep on the couch. His belly stuffed with the three cookies that he had eaten. A small bit of chocolate coating the right corner of his lips. Soft snores started to slowly escape from the Alpha and his packmates dozed in various parts of the house. Their beds, the couches, some even laid on the floor for their naps. All in all, the pack was past out in deep slumbers.

Who knows how much longer it'd been, but Vince woke with a start. His eyes wide as he looked around in fear. Charlotte's scent wasn't close by, it was growing a little faint. Meaning that the girl wasn't in the house. "Shit!" Vince yelled as he bolted off of the couch. He wiped his mouth, getting rid of the drool and chocolate. The faint scent of Nyquil coming from the chocolate cause the Alpha to growl. "Shit, fuck, damnit!" He growled as he bolted towards the door. Hoping that nothing happaned to Charlotte in his drugged upstate.

It had taken Charlotte a bit longer than she would have liked to make it to the boarder between the two packs. She couldn't run for 15 minutes straight and the fact that she didn't even know where one pack's land started and the other's ended didn't help. But she figured she was there when she saw a black wolf slowly walking in a straight line. Before she even yelled a word, the wolf had shifted into her friend, Oliver.

"Oliver!" Charlotte gasped out, basically out of breath. "I found you! You have to listen, I-"

Before she could even finish speaking, Oliver grabbed the woman tightly by her wrist, causing Charlotte to whimper out. He lifted his head up towards the sky and screamed out. "The hunt has begun!" Soon after, wolves' howls could be heard from around the area.

"Oliver, let go. My wrist is fucked up." Charlotte said as she tried to pull her arm out of his. But his grip just tightened on her sprained wrist, even more so as Charlotte fell onto her knees and continued to try and pull herself out of a grip with a cry. "Stop! What are you doing?"

The man pulled out a pocketknife and cut her along her forearm. Once he thought she was properly bleeding, Oliver chucked her arm to the side and put his knife away. A slick smile came across his face. "You better run, prey."

A couple of his packmates followed Vincent as he bolted into the forest. He did a quick shift to heighten his senses and started to try and pick out where Charlotte had gone. His legs were still tired from all of the running, but his heart felt like it was thumping in his ear. What had Charlotte done to him? To his packmates, to herself? She was in trouble, he just knew it. He tried to freaking warn her damn it!

In the nearby distance, Vince could hear the echoing of a pack of wolves. Meaning that they've gotten ahold of Charlotte. Fear pumped through Vince's veins as he urged his limbs to move faster. To carry himself towards Charlotte and the danger she had gotten herself into. All too soon, the scent of blood started to taint Charlotte's scent. Causing Vince's heart to squeeze. She was hurt, his Charlotte was hurt. His mate, his teather to this life he's been living was freaking hurt.

Raising his head, Vince let out a howl of his own. Telling the other pack that he was there to take back what was his. He wasn't going to take no for an answer. He was ready to tear someone's throat out if they even dared to lay a hand on her head. Tear them limb from limb for even looking at her. She was not some toy for them to play around with and hurt as they please. He was going to save Charlotte and prove that he's going to take care of her.

It took a couple of moments, moments that Vince couldn't be freaking spare. When he came to the small clearing that Charlotte's blood led him to, a heated rage filled Vince and he couldn't help but allow a deep sounding growl to escape him. His eyes were focused on the kid who had his hands on his Charlotte. His tail raised and the hair along his back was on end. He was pissed, Charlotte was in danger and bleeding. This was not good for the other wolf, especially since he had a couple of his packmates coming up behind him. One against four was not good odds.

Charlotte was trying to scramble onto her feet after Oliver revealed what was going on. They were going to hunt her down, attack her. Like some kind of prey for them to eat at the end of it... Only, Charlotte had no idea what was going to happen at the end. She just knew that Oliver's words were frightening and the fact that he actually cut her meant business. So she was doing her best to try and get onto her feet, to run away as fast as she possibly could. In the hopes that she wouldn't get caught.

That was when Vincent arrived. Charlotte almost didn't notice at all. Her heart was pumping in her ears and she was in a panic. Though the way Oliver turned and hissed, the way he reacted made her know that something was going on. So, she looked back for a moment to see Vincent. "Vincent! He-"

Oliver was quick to shift back into his wolf form when he sensed the arrival of the others. He knew he was by himself, that none of his members were close by. It would not be a fair fight and he would get crushed. So, Oliver shifted and grabbed onto Charlotte's ankle with his sharp teeth, allowing them to sink into her skin as he tried his best to drag her further into his territory, hoping that somehow he might be able to get away and take his prey with him.

The young woman cried out as his teeth sunk down into her ankle. She shifted back and forth, wanting to get away from him and the pain. "Help!" She screamed out. "Vincent!" In an attempt to get out of his grasp, Charlotte kicked Oliver right in the wolf face. It caused him to let go, looking back at the new wolves for a moment. Although it seemed like a bad idea, Oliver decided to risk it and go for it again. His teeth sinking back into her ankle to try and pull her back again.

The sight of Oliver biding Charlotte's ankle infuriated Vincent to no end. How dare he try and injure his mate? A deep growl emanated deep within Vince as he took a step forward. Ready to snap the other male's neck. Only to stop when he saw Charlotte kick the male in the face. A sense of pride washed over Vince before disappearing when the male foolishly tried to bite her once more.

With a deep bark, Vince leaped towards Charlotte and Oliver. His packmates joining in, not happy with the fact that their Alpha's mate was getting hurt. Vince acted quickly before Oliver could escape. He knocked into the male to force him to lose his balance and let Charlotte go. His packmates joining in and knocking Oliver off of Charlotte. Biting and using their claws to slash the male to injure him. Showing that they wouldn't take the little act of hurting Charlotte lightly.

In the middle of the fight, Vince ended up backing up and shifting back into his human form. He didn't turn his back towards Oliver or his packmates as they fought as he moved to kneel in front of Charlotte. "You're alright. I've got you Charlotte." Vince said in what he hoped to be a calming tone. Raising his head, Vince told his packmates to not kill Oliver but make sure he's aware of the strength that they possess. Then, he looked back down towards Charlotte and slowly moved to lift Charlotte up. One arm under her knees while the other held onto her by her back. He did his best to not focus on being naked because of his shift and instead focused on just getting Charlotte home.

"Can you wrap your arms around my neck?" Vince asked Charlotte as he glanced down at her. Offering her a small smile, knowing that the close contact would help him hold her tightly but also calm his inner wolf who wanted to go back there and tear that bastard's eyes out. "I knew they were dangerous," Vince said quietly, his head shaking slightly. "I'm not letting you near the kitchen for the foreseeable future. Nor am I allowing you to leave the bedroom." His voice was monotone as he spoke, not giving away how worried he was for Charlotte or how angry at himself for letting this happen. As the Alpha, it's his job to protect everyone, and he seemed to be doing a shitty job of it so far.

A loud gasp left Charlotte as Oliver was knocked off of her, his teeth ripping from her leg. Before she could even respond to the pain that was shooting up her leg, the woman was watching with wide eyes as the pack descended on Oliver. They were all so close to her that she was surprised that she didn’t get even get stepped on in the process.

But there was no doubt that the scene was frightening. Fur and blood flying everywhere. The area filled with the sounds of whimpers and growls. She supposed she should be thankful for it, as it meant that Oliver was no longer attacking her. Her fingers buried into the ground for a moment before she tried her best to get onto her feet, thinking that she should run or at least back away from this fight. But it had been too hard too so she just pushed herself back against the ground to make some distance between herself and the wolves.

That was when Vincent came over to her. She found it difficult to tear her eyes away from the scene but she eventually managed to do so, looking up at Vincent with pure terror. A shiver ran down her back as the man ordered the others not to kill Oliver. Like that was a serious option for them... perhaps it was.

As Vincent lifted her up into his arms, Charlotte only realized then that she had been holding her breath. She started to take in a few shaky breaths, hoping that it would stop her head from spinning. It didn’t. So when Vincent asked for her to wrap her arms around him, all the young woman could provide was a little nod. As her arms went around his neck, she winced. Her sprained arm now worse off than before, Oliver having worsen the injury. And now that it was around his neck, she was beginning to bleed on him. Though her thoughts weren’t on that as her eyes were still fixated on the wolves.

Vincent’s words were like little stabs to her ego. He knew that they were dangerous. She didn’t listen. And now Vincent was limiting where she was allowed to go even more. How did Charlotte get here? She had the whole world and now she was limited to a bedroom. “They were my friends,” Charlotte whispered to him, providing herself a weak defense. She was in disbelief. How could this happen? What had she done?
