Centuries Lost in the Flowers

Rosemary swore that her heart was going on the fritz. Did he know what was going on, somehow? She hadn't said anything to anyone but it wasn't a ridiculous notion that a literally fucking God somehow knew what she was up to. Damn, it suddenly felt like the room had become a million degrees hotter. Was she in trouble or not? Her eyes were wide as she slowly looked over his face, trying to get any indication if Hades had any idea of what was happening. The man seemed so calm though? Maybe he was waiting for her to walk into some kind of trap? Maybe trying to escape was not such a good idea.

As he asked her if she saw anything cool, Rosemary shook her head quickly. "No- nothing at all." Rosemary told to him, only getting more confused by how relaxed he was. Maybe he.... maybe he didn't know? Was that possible? That he just happened to run into her when she was so fucking close to the exit. "I mean- I was just... I got a little lost in the hallways. So I was just trying to figure out where I was and not so much on looking around like I wanted."

The woman went as stiff as a board as he mentioned the dungeons. Was that a threat? A warning if she tried to leave he would throw her down there? Or was he just genuinely telling her not to wander to the dungeons. Even if she was not the one being punished, Rosemary was sure she wouldn't want to be down there. It was so fucking hard to tell what he was trying to say when he was smiling at her like that! Was he giving her a nice warning or threatening her? Did he know what she was trying to do or not? "I don't want to go down there." She mumbled to him, the look in her eyes suddenly turning to one of worry.

When he offered his arm, Rosemary looked at it for a very long moment, trying to decide if she should or not. Would she get in trouble if she said no? Would he be suspicious? But what if the man took her somewhere she didn't want to go? It was with great hesitation that Rosemary took the offered arm, giving him a nod that she wanted an escort to the dining room.

A small smirk slowly formed on Hade's lips as he felt the young girl place her hand on his offered arm. Patting her hand lightly with his free hand, Hades started to walk down the hall. His head held high as he walked. A casual sort of aura radiated off of him as he walked. His free hand hung loose next to him as they walked. "Maybe I'll have a map drawn up for you," Hades said casually as they walked, just wanting to break the silence for a few moments. "That way, you can study it and not worry about getting lost."

It took a couple a couple of minutes, but Hades finally managed to bring the mortal to the dining room. A small hum escaping from him as he caught a whiff of the human food that they had created for the girl to sample. "The world is constantly changing, culture, language and of course food. So, please. Do tell me what you like to have next time so that the staff could better cater to your diet." Hades told his reincarnated Persephone as he brought her over towards the chair that was on the right of the head, pulling it out for the young girl and then pushing it in for her.

Then, the ruler of the underworld sat down in the head chair, and as soon as he sat down servants started to come out from the kitchen. Dishes from all over the human world filed the plates and were set in front of them. Each and everything smelling better than the last. "Please, don't be shy," Hades said as he motioned for his Persephone to help herself to the freshly made human food.

Rosemary could feel her heart getting ready to burst out of her chest. In truth, she was scared of where they were going and what was going to happen. It just seemed so unlikely that Hades had no clue what she was trying to do and he just happened to stumble upon her at the same time. But, the God did not seem angry or upset in the least. And the way he patted her hand seemed reassuring? Perhaps Rosemary was trying to make this a bigger issue that it needed to be. Maybe Hades was actually just trying to be nice to her?

Though the fear was still hanging on her until they made it to their destination and it actually was the dining hall. A long sigh of relief left her and Rosemary started to calm down. It seemed that Hades might not actually know what she was planning - or, if he did - the man was giving her a bit of a break. Why he would do that, the woman had no idea. But she would certainly take it over a lecture or whatever punishment the God had been threatening her with the other day.

She sat down at the table and watched all of the dishes that came out from the kitchen. The young mortal lifted her head up to look at the man, who was being very kind to her. Why was he being so confusing? Did Hades actually want to be nice to her? Or did he just want to scare her into submission. Rosemary took in a deep breath. "Thank you, it all looks delicious, I can't think of what I would rather want."

Although a lot of the food on the table looked strange and foreign to her, she had to admit how delicious it all looked. Rosemary leaned forward and filled her plate up before starting to eat. The chefs in this plane were much too good. "Wow," She mumbled under her breath.

Leaning back into his seat, a small smile slowly started to form as Hades watched Rosemary. It was good that the girl wasn't shy about eating the food he was offering her. That she wasn't going off on him and thinking that he was poisoning her or something made Hades feel better. Especially since he didn't want to fully lie to her once again because while the food wasn't poisoned, it was catered more so to make it almost impossible for one to leave the underworld if they were to eat food from this place. So, even if his beloved resurrected mortal lover tried to leave she'd always feel a calling to this place.

Once Rosemary collected all of the food that she wanted to eat onto her plate, then Hades started to fill his own plate. Then, he reached out for the water pitcher and filled his glass. "What would you like to drink with your breakfast?" Hades asked as he glanced towards the young human. Waiting for her answer before he would be a kind gentleman and pouring her a glass of whatever it is that she wanted to drink.

Once all was said and done, Hades allowed for a calming silence to develop between the two of them for a little while. The sound of their forks and other silverware clinking sounded through the room as they ate. Then, Hades raised his napkin and wiped his mouth clean before setting it down and glancing towards the young girl. "I've finished speaking with your instructor and feel like we've come up with the perfect plan for you," Hades said as he watched Rosemary see how she would react to the news.

Folding his fingers together, Hades rested his elbows on the table as he rested his chin on top of his hands. "You'll do well to listen to him, he's quite knowledgable in teaching the young god and goddesses how to use their abilities," Hades said as he tried to offer some sort of relief from the idea of having to learn something new. "You'll be studying four days a week with him and then I shall train you for a day to see how you've improved." Then, Hades sat up straight and started to eat once more. "Your whole day won't be training, so don't worry about that either. It'll just cover the morning hours, six hours each day. Quite lenient if you ask me."

"Water is fine, thank you," Rosemary said as she looked up at Hades. She noticed the little smile on his face and after a moment, Rosemary smiled back at him back. This part she didn't mind so much. Right now the God was being kind and she loved the food down in the underworld. Her eyes shifted around the dining room. It was certainly grand but it was also very dark. Though it being dark is something she would have expected from the underworld... If Rosemary wasn't in a place she thought was dangerous for her, the woman would certainly enjoy her meals here.

"Has the castle always look like this?" Rosemary asked him after a moment, her eyes dropping back to the man. He has mentioned a few times about getting things that were current but that was only ever regarding food and clothes. The castle, however... well a lot of it seemed to the aura of something that has stood here for centuries. But Rosemary wouldn't exactly say that it was old or outdated.

Once the man started to talk about her tutor, Rosemary let out a long hum. She had almost forgotten about that. The truth was, Rosemary had been so focused on the idea of getting out and going somewhere safe. But the idea that she might be able to pull out ancient powers, to do what Gods did, well Rosemary was interested. There was something fascinating about it. However, the moment Hades mentioned she would be studying for 6 hours a day, four days a week, with the tutor, and then one day with Hades, her nose wrinkled. Now it was starting to sound like she would be back at school. But he was finding the 6 hours lenient, which lead Rosemary to believe that if she were to say something, he would only extent.

"Am I safe here without any powers?" Rosemary asked him for a moment, an eyebrow now raising at the man. Maybe that was why he was so determined about these lessons. "Do the others in this castle know who I apparently actually am? Or do the other Gods even know that I am back after having been missing for so many years?" She set her fork and knife down, her eyes beginning to squint at him. There was something going on here - well more than already the insanity that was occurring. Plus she couldn't help but wonder how the others would interact with her - or if she should be expecting any other Godly visitors. "Or do they not get to know as they might whisk me away like you did?"

Now it was his turn to raise a brow. Glancing towards the young human as he brought his fork to his mouth, Hades arched an eyebrow. Listening quietly to the young female as she spoke. Using the time he was chewing his food to allow some time to mull over his words carefully. Or rather, how he would want to phrase everything for her. Did he want to outright frighten the young thing or try and sugar coat things for her? Did humans even use that phrase anymore? Hades wasn't quite sure honestly.

"No, you're not safe," Hades said, deciding that he was going, to be honest as he could be with the young mortal before him. "Without anything to protect yourself, you'll be at the possible mercy of those around you." Hades raised a napkin and dabbed at his mouth. Then looked towards the mortal as he set the napkin down. "I've informed everyone that the Queen has returned, that you are stronger than ever," Hades told her, looking Rosemary straight in the eyes as he spoke. "Because if they knew the truth, that you're as powerless as an infant then anything could happen to you."

A pause for dramatic effect. "If any one of my servants who want to try and go against my rule wish to try and overthrow me, they could use you against me. They could suck your soul out of you, taking my beloved's power with it. They could destroy you and me. They can torture you, curse you, or brainwash you. So, it will be in your best interest to pretend that you remember everything. That you've got control over your powers. The only ones who know you are weak are me and your teacher and it must stay that way. Understood?"
