A quote from the character development thread where Dahlia explains her fondest childhood memory. After Sofie, she never had another real friend, only girls who she would speak to so she could get away from any labels of 'loner' which had started in her first year of high school.
- Chaos Walking:
- "My childhood was nothing special, no real amazements in any of my achievements. My life only really began when I turned eighteen. But... If I had to choose it would be my last day with Sofie. She had arrived at my school as a temporary student, though I was so young I never really bothered to learn what that meant. All I knew was that she was very pretty, and was willing to share her toys with me when I asked. We struck up a friendship like none I had ever had before. Then, on the day which she knew was her last but I was oblivious to, she took me to a playground I had never visited before. We spent hours sat on the swings, and just talked. Not about anything imparticular, but I remember being extremely emotional that day for no one had ever been so kind to me. The next day she was gone."
