Backstory and Unknown Facts

In December Eighteenth (unposted), Sam and Kurt have a boy, and they name him Rory.

In the first version of I Can't Hang, which remains as a six-page manuscript that will never be finished, Kyle has a younger sister. He also isn't an atheist but is more agnostic, although the subject isn't really touched on. When he dies, Brady does pick him up and does try to take him to Heaven, but before doing that, he takes Kyle through a flashback of the best moments of his life.

In my story Love Will Tear Us Apart, Audrey's original love interest and ex-boyfriend was supposed to be Jared Leto; after posting the first chapter I felt that Jared didn't fit the part, so thus came Brian Haner (Avenged Sevenfold).

And then later on in the story, it was supposed to be Brandon Flowers of The Killers that became Audrey's best friend and eventual boyfriend in If You Give Up New York, I'll give you Tennessee but again as I posted the first chapter involving him, I didn't feel that he was right, so I switched things around and his crazy drunk friend Caleb Followill of Kings of Leon became Audrey's bff and in the sequel, boyfriend and fiancé :)

So in other words, Brian Haner (Synyster Gates) and Caleb Followill were not my original choices :}

In Bus, when Carrie was a teenager, she was a hell of a punk rock girl and was into the whole riot grrrl movement. She was the bassist for an all-girl punk band called Gopher Broke (a pun on the phrase "go for broke") before going into college and meeting her eventual fiance. When she was dating Richard (her ex-fiance), she'd shed the riot grrrl image but still embraced her curvy body shape and wore flattering outfits. However, immediately after he'd left her for another woman, she became very insecure especially after bearing their child, Ezra. But later on in life, after she graduated college and was raising Ezra on her own, she rediscovered her beauty and got a whole new flattering wardrobe reminescent of the stuff she wore in high school.

At age 26 she became a pre-IB biology teacher at the high school in her town, and she's generally liked by her students. (She's also kinda based on my biology teacher right now, except Carrie's less of a bitch.) And every casual Friday, she breaks out her old Doc Martens and wears those boots to school.

In Not So Innocent, where Jon and Shawn talks about if Shawn has ever kissed a guy, Shawn tells a short little story (how he was at a show where a metal band played and the band said a song wasn't "for faggots", so he did a weird dance and apparently pissed a guy off who lanced at him and Shawn decided to kiss that guy - and the guy punches him in the face) that is actually a true event that happened exactly the way it's told in Not So Innocent.

In Pretend Just Pretend the bird-imagery is inspired by on old poem of mine, Control Scattered to the Winds.

In the Desert Song Trilogy:

Nova is originally from East Hampton, New York, but moved to New Jersey when she was thirteen.

Carolina and Isobel are second cousins. (I'd always intended them to have some type of familial relationship, but it's never mentioned in the story.)

Carolina and Gerard did indeed have a short fling before Carrie and Mikey got serious. However, it was not because Carrie dyed her hair blonde, as Isobel implies in Capitol.

Ray is the only one of the group who is technically a native of the Zones, having run from Los Angeles before it became Battery City and therefore never saw it become Battery City.

Grace was originally Ray's younger sister, but she is now his cousin.

In my version of the Killjoy continuity, children of Killjoys get official two-part names on their thirteenth birthdays. Grace is only six (later nine) so she is simply referred to as California, or Callie, around nearly everyone except for Ray and Dr. D (who call her Grace/Gracie.)

Nova's birthday is April 29th, 1996, Carolina's is March 19th, 1994, and Isobel's is August 18th, 1999. This makes them 23, 25, and 20 (Isobel starts the story at age 19 but turns 20 during the story) years old, respectively.

In Scripted, the book that the narrator is reading in the cafe when she meets her future husband is actually Lady Chatterley's Lover.

In the original version of Lua, her name is Alexandra and her best friend is called Cheryl. She was always in love with Guillaume, and he always loved her. His dad divorced her mum after he found Guillaume and Alex kissing, and so her mum (a needy bitch) told Alex to leave the house and never come back. When Alex returned, her mum tried to kill herself.
Alex has issues because every guy her mum ever dated left, and her mum always told her it was her fault.

Pretty much an explanation of the events preceding Reds:

Tracy and Gerard have had an on/off relationship since a few weeks after they met. Tracy was still taking her acting classes while the band started, and before they left on their first tour, Gerard even briefly moved in with her. They attempted a long-distance relationship while MCR was touring, but broke it off not long after they returned and Tracy saw that Gee was being self-destructive.

However, unlike in RL, the band failed and Gerard, while in the process of getting clean, turned back to his illustrating and is in an essential dead-end job at a publishing company.

Reds starts a few years after this. Gerard has been clean for a year and Tracy achieved her dream and is in rehearsals for a new Broadway play. They haven't seen each other since she broke up with him. The story is a "moment-in-time" fic while Tracy is on one of her breaks from practice. She goes outside to have a quick smoke and finds Gerard standing there.

For Renny Boy, the first song that Ren ever hears by The Gaslight Anthem is "Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis?" when he listens to it together with Soria one day at her house. (He likes them, but not nearly on the level that Soria does.)

Due to the line in the song that goes "I've been dying out here in the cold and the snow / got a picture of you, Mama, to remind me of home," which he found funny, when they discuss the name of their CoolTube channel, one of his comebacks is “I don’t listen to rednecks screaming about their mamas!” So that's where that line came from. If anybody was wondering.

In Cataclysm (most of which is unposted):

-Kenny's full name is Kendra Elizabeth Cole, Billie's is Billie Anna Lee Christiansen, Nate's is Nathaniel Atticus Jamison, and Claire's is Clarice Alexandra Jamison, Jr.

-The Jamisons moved to Clearview from Fresno, California, when their children were 8, in 2002.

-Nate and Claire's mother (Claire Senior) is actually Adam Rockwell's (from the Skylines Trilogy) sister, and the oldest of the Rockwell children. Her maiden name is Clarice Alexandra Rockwell.

-The Jamison children are fraternal twins; Claire is older than Nate by two minutes.

-Billie and Kenny used to work at the same diner as their summer jobs, but the demands at the Coles' hotel became too much and Kenny had to begin working there in the summer.

-When Claire wants to annoy Nate, she calls him by his middle name, Atticus. When he wants to aggravate her, he calls her Clarice, her full first name.

-Kenny, Billie, and Claire have always had their names, but Nate was originally named Jimmy and he was Billie's boyfriend, rather than Claire's brother.

-Billie is bisexual, but definitely leans more towards liking girls than boys.

In the first chapter, Niall's phone goes off and it's a Michael Buble ringtone. I don't mention the song title, but in my mind I imagined it being, Haven't Met You Yet, which I find ironic & funny because Niall and Jax haven't met.

Jan always looked up to her mother despite the fact that her mother never gave her any affection more than she had to. That's why her mental health started to slowly slope down when she walked out. She was quite literally an accident, and her mother had always resented her father for 'getting her pregnant' (when in fact she had missed several days worth of the pill).

April's family preferred her to her sister Kate, but they had more photographs of Kate because her mother thought that Kate was more attractive than April.

In my story, Birdie, there is a distinct lack of religion. There is also lots of hinted homosexuality where you least expect it.

Relating to I Can't Hang, the angel who takes Brady to Heaven when he dies is St. James. However, Brady doesn't remember this and he doesn't recognize St. James, as evidenced in Guardian, where James asks about who brought him there. James remembers.

Garret from Party Generation:
Garret has slept with more women than most of the cast. He is gay. He feels the need to keep up appearances, and all of his same-sex relationships have been both secret and turbulent.

In The Fuckers, Naomi is like a stereotypical American dark-skinned girl but in a white girl's body.

In Freedom Blooming, Dahlia has a lot of backstory. She was quite an average child, and therefore didn't go chasing her dreams after leaving home and finishing school. She didn't really have any dreams. All she wanted was to live, and see how things panned out. Which was how she ended up in a bar alone, meeting up with a man who could give her some form of pleasure, and so she accepted him.

Chaos Walking:

"My childhood was nothing special, no real amazements in any of my achievements. My life only really began when I turned eighteen. But... If I had to choose it would be my last day with Sofie. She had arrived at my school as a temporary student, though I was so young I never really bothered to learn what that meant. All I knew was that she was very pretty, and was willing to share her toys with me when I asked. We struck up a friendship like none I had ever had before. Then, on the day which she knew was her last but I was oblivious to, she took me to a playground I had never visited before. We spent hours sat on the swings, and just talked. Not about anything imparticular, but I remember being extremely emotional that day for no one had ever been so kind to me. The next day she was gone."

A quote from the character development thread where Dahlia explains her fondest childhood memory. After Sofie, she never had another real friend, only girls who she would speak to so she could get away from any labels of 'loner' which had started in her first year of high school.

Blair's first name is Belinda. She actually likes it, but goes by Blair because she doesn't want people shortening it to Belle.

Also, Natalia's name being the same as Black Widow's was incidental.

While she doesn't believe so, Skye isn't the last of the Deerly bloodline. Her grandmother had a brother, who had a daughter, who married a man with the surname of Vallimast. They had four sons, and the line continues. Skye is completely oblivious to this fact.
