River People was originally a Madina Lake fan-fiction, but I thought it suited better as an original fiction. That's the only reason that the police chief has twin daughters -- they were Nathan and Matthew Leone in the first draft.
The character that falls from the cliff in Dive is the same character that pushed the young girl under in Hardly Golden. The only reason they aren't connected as sequel and prequel is because they don't connect at all. His falling was my own mini revenge for the murder he committed in Hardly Golden.
Lara and Dom from What It Is to Wonder dated at one point -- both of them decided mutually that it would never work and as a result, they grew very awkward around each other for a few years before becoming close again, this time as friends. They would say they were like sister and brother but sleeping with your sister or brother isn't traditionally accepted, so they leave it at close friends to anyone that asks.
In Common People, Gregory often refers to Lucille as a goddess, but this is his own interpretation -- she's pretty, but not as extraordinarily so as he so often describes. He finds her prettier than most, but that's because he's attracted to her and can't see past any of her flaws.
In a way, Demi always found Dougie attractive. It was part of the reason why she decided to sit beside him in biology. She just didn't have the guts to act upon it (as much as she hates to admit that fact to herself) until they were reunited after a period of time in Girls Who Play Guitar.

In Interlink, the main character Tegan Hills is a distant descendant of Dr. Collier from my old dinosaur The Manmaker. Tegan often talks about his great-great-great-grandfather, and how he's proud to be related to the man that invented the biotechnology that allows Tegan to be where he is. It's Collier. Same dude.
The entire series of Duskfall, Void, Starlight and Aftermath takes place in Minecraft's multiplayer. The main character is Steve and the one he waited for Herobrine.
The unnamed traveler in Strings is a matured and hardened version of his younger self from my first Strings: Cavi. He's come a long way from Atlas in the hopes of discovering something big, only to get caught in the political crossfire and trapped in Avera, dozens of lightyears from home.

The only story that has some real obscure backstory is my story Control. The girl who's my main character is a sociopath who is extremely good at manipulation because of her terrible childhood. Her mother abandoned her, leaving her extremely abusive father the only one in the picture. Her father is an alcoholic, who beat her and sexually abused her since she was little. One day, he mysteriously vanished, and a few days later, he was found dead out in the woods. No one knows who killed him, but all the speculation turned to Adelaide since she was angry with him about all the shit he's done to her. Once they were in court, there was no way for the persecution to actually pin the murder on her, so all charges against her were dropped.
The rest of my characters had all their backstory incorporated into the story, but with Control, I have no real way to incorporate it since none of my characters really give a shit about each other's past.

The dumb street names in Bus are intentional. I'm not fluent in Spanish but I know enough to make nonsensical bus stop names. XD

Also, Andre Alvarez of Bus and his family are cousins-of-cousins-of-cousins of Anthony Alvarez in Generation Why Bother.

Bus and my other stories kinda seem to mirror each other. There's a reference to the Renny Boy series in the chapter of Bus where Doug takes his sister and her daughter to the movies, and they watch a "movie" of the first book in that series, hinting that that universe is fictional in the Bus world. Meanwhile, Renny Boy seems to take place in the same universe as Generation Why Bother, given the fact that Put'emup, Put'emup is on the same record label as Plaster Caster and they appear in each others' stories. Abby of Spin has a cameo in one of the last chapters of Generation Why Bother, and the fictional band I Am You Are of A List of Best Intentions appears in Brendan Dude, while Ty and June of Say It Like You Mean It/A Little Bit Louder Now are mentioned in Brendan Dude as well, along with the fact that (spoiler) David Veins and Crash Spencer of the Renny Boy series appear as angels in I Can't Hang, so it's kinda implied that all of these stories take place within the same universe. This all being said, in one chapter of Generation Why Bother, Tegan and Oshie almost watch a movie that is described as being "about a bus driver," implying that the Bus world to them is fictional.

I have no idea where I'm going with this. I just noticed it a few days ago and I'm trying to make sense of it; it's probably not canon. I just do inter-story references for shits and giggles, to be frank. XD

    - - - - -

When Andy and Anthony were in high school, they were part of the "early-mid-2000's goth kid" crowd. Andy was an Invader Zim superfan who would pride himself in being "l0l so RANDOM!!!1!! XD TACOS!!!!" (He still uses the XD smiley, though I still use it, so I can't point fingers here.) Anthony was a bit more subdued but they had the same sense of humor.

Julian (of Who Knows, Who Cares) dyes his hair very regularly. He has naturally dark brown hair but he lightens it just 'cause he likes the style. He also only ties it back because it seems to get in the way of a lot of the hobbies he partakes in.

Also, in Julian's senior year at Woodward High (2009), he participated in the "Mr. Woodward" pageant, which is kinda like a beauty pageant for guys at the school. For the talent section, he performed "Don't Stop Believing" while impersonating several singers. Among these singers were Steve Tyler, Jonny Craig, Patrick Stump, David Lee Roth, Christina Aguilera, Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and P!nk. (Also, if you get him drunk enough, he never fucking stops singing, and he won't stop doing his Jonny Craig impression, which he thinks is hilarious.)

In Send Me Away With the Words of a Love Song, Senoma is a blackbelt in some type of martial arts (never sorted that out) and it's only briefly mentioned once when she threatens her brother with her trophy.

I'm not 100% sure Anthony from Generation Why Bother is a cis dude. And I don't know what Oshie's sexual preference is, but I'm pretty gosh darn certain at this point that he isn't straight.

In Obedear, the Nathan Jaxon meets at the bonfire is the same Nathan from Saudade. No one actually knows this because there's no connection between stories at all and Saudade's Nathan has no siblings.
In the old version of The Sin City Movement, Cassie didn't have any siblings at all. In the first draft of the rewrite, Cassie and Cooper were actually fraternal twins but I changed it because their relationship was too unstable for them to be twins. And Cooper has slept with Eden's little sister, Ava, but it never comes up because neither Cassie or Eden interact with their siblings often enough to know.
At the end of Dance With the Devil, the main character actually commits suicide.
Bambi is actually a femmeslash, but people assumed that it was a heterosexual relationship when in fact, the narrator was a girl by the name of Noami who was an aspiring photographer, and the story Ami wrote/what the readers read was actually a photo book published after she moved to Chicago. Also, Claire/Bambi's parents died when she was a little girl, leaving her in her older brother's care.

Pax from 3679200 and Collier from The Manmaker (and all such similars) are in fact the same man. I've added some depth and story to him for his role in 3679200, as well as doing some character redesign. He's the one character I've stuck with for a long time.

3679200, 660KB, and Icarus were created and thought up via the same song - Taswell by C418. Rift and From Ashes were written to The End, also by C418.

Steve and 660KB take place in the same universe.

Dr. Collier's (Pax's?) "theme song" is Speed of Sound by Coldplay.

Julian from Who Knows, Who Cares has a good heart, but reading over that story, I realize that he has a few questionable moments where he seems a bit, uh...manipulative. He does have best intentions, though.

Also, Murray Grant of Earth to Me and Michael McEwin of Soria Girl are cousins. They're both smooth-talking, kind-hearted dudes.

Saudade takes place right before Save Rock and Roll was released. Also Vera and Andy's relationship was all during the hiatus of Fall Out Boy.

Amber from Casual Affair has brown eyes, but for some reason her eye color has never been mentioned.

In most all of my poems and songs from junior high and late elementary school, I almost never wrote about things that I'd actually gone through, like heartbreak. I was just taking influences from the music I listened to at the time, and I was trying to tell a story through music, I guess. Anything about family or loneliness was directly inspired by true events, though. (I'm hoping we're allowed to talk about poems here. XD)

Doug Tater is asexual. I don't think he knows, and I'm not sure if he would be familiar with the terminology - but he's asexual for sure. He might not be aromantic, but I don't know.

I was almost going to kill Andy at the end of Generation Why Bother, but I chickened out like the little weakling I am.

This is more of an unknown fact of the making of the story, but ]219-3952 is one number off from my phone number XD I obviously did not include the area code. It was also originally fanfiction and I still kept the cropped picture of Wooyung as the icon lmfao

Fog is about someone choking themselves with an old tie in the ocean and drowning because they did it until they were numb. It wasn't supposed to be suicide, it was just an accident.

For some reason, I keep accidentally making up bands and sprinkling them throughout my stories. They go beyond the ones on Not Listening Records, and I just have faint ideas on what they're like. Of course someday I might put too much depth into some of them. -_-

Gopher Broke – girl-punk trio that writes fun songs with the occasional feminist jam (mentioned in Bus)
I Am You Are – pop-punk with a beachy influence, four members from Tanglewood, GA (mentioned in A List of Best Intentions)
Kickback – punk trio that never grows up, trio from Claymore, FL (mentioned in Renny Boy)
Fiberlight – indie rock; dreamlike and versatile, trio from Claymore, FL (mentioned in Renny Boy)
A Fine Murder – progressive metalcore; no screaming but amazing clean vocals; five members from Spain (mentioned in Generation Why Bother)
Matchboxingmatch – ska band made of good-hearted stoners who make chill-ass music; seven members from San Diego, Cali (mentioned in an unposted Renny Boy spinoff, but mentioned in Generation Why Bother)
Up in Arms – ska-punk band with six members; writes political songs about injustice and feminism with fast beats (mentioned in We're Not Listening)
This Sky Abundant – indie-emo/post-rock band in the vein of youblewit! or Hey Mercedes, Enemies; five members from Rochester, NY (mentioned in Generation Why Bother)
Southpaw – 4 brothers and 1 sister, country-folk band from Pensacola who sing songs about loneliness and love (mentioned in We're Not Listening)
Alexia McKinney – rocker chick singer-songwriter active from late 90s; pop-rock tunes with punk influences (first mentioned in Renny Boy)

And Julian from Who Knows, Who Cares was actually in a band in high school for a very short period of time; they were metalcore, but he was the clean singer. After some turmoil in his senior year and deciding to go to college rather than pursue the band, he left, though the split was amicable. The band went on without a clean singer but they're all on good terms. Who knows?

(I apologize for cluttering up this thread, but I really like this topic. o_o)

During the recording of an album right as they're all about to turn twenty, Plaster Caster hits a bit of a rough patch. Mainly, Soria and Ren hit a weak spot. They both kinda get a little distant with each other and decide to call off their relationship, at least until they can figure out a little more about themselves. The breakup doesn't affect the band, though, and there's no fighting or anything. In fact, they even write a few more songs during the ordeal. Also, Soria's not straight. Not sure how she'd identify, but she's not completely into just guys. I like to think that she gets back together with Ren after a while, but either way, they're still bound to be best friends for life.

Joey comes out as bisexual shortly after the events of Lukey Kid. He heads off to college and Plaster Caster chugs on through high school, and then Joey starts reevaluating his identity in general. Eventually he realizes that he's agender (with he/they pronouns). He calls up Luke and Brendan one night and talks to them about it, and they're completely accepting, which is also how Ren, Soria, and his parents react. He finally feels comfortable.

Everyone in Put'emup, Put'emup has tattoos, except for Chance, who hasn't decided on anything yet and thus hasn't gotten inked yet. Mick has a jackalope on one of his calves, and it was partially because he likes jackalopes and partly because he knew it would help him become more confident with his body. (He rarely wears short sleeves and wears shorts more often after getting the tattoo.) Andy and Anthony have matching tattoos on their ribcages that say "do better." in reference to the Say Anything song, "Do Better." Andy has another tattoo on one of his calves but that's a spoiler so I'm not gonna go into detail about it.

I actually wrote multiple endings for Still Here. Also, the original ending I had in mind for almost the entirety of writing it was going to be Sam leaping out as soon as he met DeeDee's mother, but I wrote the alternate versions when I decided that ending didn't seem a satisfactory way to resolve the story, especially for Sam, given all he'd been through and worked through in the story; I didn't like the idea of the story just kind of abruptly ending like that.

I haven't posted any of my story, The Galaxies Within Me yet, but I want to include a couple of little facts that might not get included in the story.

    — Alexis has a thick accent because they immigrated to the US to finish high school and pursue higher education. Their English isn't the greatest because they haven't had a lot of practice, but Erez teaches them grammar ocassionally.
    — Erez has early onset arthritis. He has some difficulty moving around when the pain flares, but he only uses a crutch around Alexis.
    — Erez is only 5'9, and Alexis is 5'7.

    Schadenfreude:
    - Malte and Romy have been in a secret friends-with-benefits relationship since they joined the camp. It means very little to Malte, but despite his flaws and violent outbursts, Romy has fallen in love with him. She knows he'll never go for it, though, which is why she keeps it casual.
    - Marek was going to be an architect before the war broke out. He had originally wanted to go to art school, but his mother had convinced him to follow architecture as it was a more 'conventional' degree that would make him money.
    - Jürgen is a bartender by trade, and loves to travel. He has lived and worked in several countries, including the US, Austria, Russia, Belgium and France. He is fluent in German, English and French, and somewhat conversationally sound in Russian. Since being at the camp, he has made an attempt to learn Polish, but is struggling with the pronunciations.
    - Luuk is bisexual. It is something that he kept hidden for years, as it was frowned upon in that age. His parents still do not know.

    Bloom
    - Holger's earliest memory is of playing with the young boy down the street. He never learned his name, and the boy disappeared after a while. That boy would grow up to be Augustine Müller, the man who kills the girl in West Berlin territory.
    - Ilona Sauer's parents are Dutch. It is for this reason that Holger cannot stand her eldest brother's superior stance over being from the West -- Holger is not from West Berlin, but neither are Philipp's parents. He sees Philipp's stance on the East as being incredibly hypocritical.
    - Holger is only a detective thanks to his wife's younger brother. Steffen convinced his boss to promote Holger from beat patrol to homicide detective after he helped with a case, and then convinced him to keep Holger on even after he struggled with the job at first.

    The Moscow Files
    - Nastasya knows what her younger sister is doing, but chooses to say nothing. In a way, this is her own rebellion against the ARC. She is too scared to rebel herself, so she lives vicariously through Milena.
    - Anatoly did not love Nastasya to begin with. Their relationship began as a friends-with-benefits arrangement, and grew from there. Despite this, Anatoly was the first out of the pair to say "I love you".
    - Despite acting nonchalant about his relationship and being a general dick in everyday life, Ilya loves his wife very much and would do anything for her. His 'macho' talk in the office with Anatoly is just that -- talk.

    Tommy Guns
    - Before they chose to enlist, Ruedi was training to be a doctor, with the aim of being a surgeon by the time he was in his mid-thirties.
    - Felix is a trained chef, and before the war he worked as sous-chef in a local Italian restaurant.
    - The reason that Ruedi is so insistent on them cheating death at the hands of the regime has to do with his mother's reaction to him coming out. She immediately disowned him and told him she was disappointed in him. He doesn't want his face in a newspaper as being executed because he doesn't want her thoughts on his sexuality being vindicated by his death. Felix does not understand this as, despite it being taboo at the time, his mother treated him no differently after he came out.
    - Ruedi is incredibly picky when it comes to food. He hates Italian food, and insists on only eating variations of traditional stews. Occasionally, Felix will pose a spaghetti-and-meatballs combination as a traditional German dish that his mother cooked him when he was young. Ruedi eats it every time.

    Sarajevo Burning
    - During the siege, Iva falls pregnant. She never tells Jakša.
    - Jakša only took up smoking when he joined the army. It was a habit that Iva never approved of, and she refuses to allow him to smoke in their apartment.
    - The apartment block that Jakša and Iva share is cheap, and the windows rattle when the wind picks up. Despite this, Iva has crocheted a number of curtains, doilies and other brightly-coloured objects to brighten the house up.

    Syndicate
    - The only reason that Konstantin originally joined Syndicate was to save up money for his mother's cancer treatment. When she died suddenly, it became a way of letting off steam.
    - Lea is related, through second-cousins twice removed bla bla bla, to the prince of Liechteinstein.
    - Lea is a supporter of the Nazi party, and believes Hitler to be misunderstood. This is something that causes a rift between her and other members of Syndicate.
    - Ruaraidh was originally born in the Scottish Highland. Both his parents are farmers, but moved to the city when he was eight to give him a better chance at life.
    - Konstantin's mother was Turkish.
    - Vijay is fluent in four languages (Hindi, Urdu, English and German) and has a doctorate in English literature. If he wanted, he could turn to teaching for a solid income but the truth is that he enjoys heading up Syndicate, and would never give it up.
    - Durdona's parents are both Russian and, due to Uzbekistan being under Soviet rule for so long, they have a lot of money. Durdona thrives on this, and would never give it up. She has often said that she would rather be dead than poor.

The date that the leap starts in Still Here being Sam's birthday isn't really significant to the story (even if it does add an extra dimension of ouch to what happens to Sam at the start.) I actually just picked August 8 because it being Sam's birthday meant I would probably not forget it.
Most of my Quantum Leap Work-in-Progress fics have leap in dates that are significant or memorable in some way to me, and some of them are just personal to me which kinda makes them almost like an inside joke for myself, but just like the date in Still Here the real, main reason is just so I don't forget the dates the stories take place during.
