Do your characters or plotlines have things that are based off of/similar to you?
In Dangerous Face, Ryan's shoulder tension is based off of me. And I put it in there intentionally.

When It Hurts was completely based off of me.

All my old Green Day fics that aren't porn [aka, the angst] were sort of based off me: drugs, cutting, depression, etc.

The character of Belinda in When the Savior Is Damned was based off me and my reaction when I meet the band.

Everything else... I dunno. What's strange is that I can write all these tragic death fics and pour every possible emotion into it, but I've never really gone through someone close to me dying. My grandma died last Halloween, but the way I miss her is sort of 'Where's Lola?' (Filipino word for Grandma) in my head, then I remember, and it's odd thinking she'll never be with us again, but never that hollow, aching need/love... Hmm...

I've never been raped. I hope never to be raped.
But I think "writing what you know" isn't meant to be taken literally.
From what I gather a lot of the emotions are rape are violation, distrust, anger, pain, etc.
I've felt all those emotions for different reasons.
So I think I can send myself back to times when I felt that and write rape, which I'm told is fairly realistic.

In my story (I only have one story here) the main character is a bit like me. Like that she bites her nails and hates people who act like clones. And that she likes the same music as me.

Aimee in Disturbia has my physical features since I wanted to make a character who didn't have the perfect body or perfect features, so I just choose me.

I think that's really it. Some of my characters share my religious views, but Robin and Reno's from CSB are more extreme. Robin also kind fo shares my hatred for Staten Island, so at of Robin's descriptions of Staten Island are my views as well.

None of my characters are really based off me, but they all have aspects of my personality.

Like, Grace in my first story I posted on Mibba. She is fairly calm like me, she's also a brunetter with brown hair.

Then the other female character I have is Del..she's a more complicated one. She's got elements of who I am in there, but she is also a mixture of my co-author..so we have both added parts of ourselfs into. The parts that are more me, I'd say...would be her confusion about her life and her feelings. She's very stubborn though..I am stubborn, but she is worse than me..so thats kind of an over-exaturated kind of stubborn. xD I really don't know how to explain. The parts of Del which are more me definitely come out more in the parts of the chapters I write.

I know I kind of put a little of myself into Alice, my first OC in my first story. She was a science student at UC Berkeley, which is one of my possible goals. And the whole first and second chapter were based off a recurring daydream I had involving Billie Joe. It was just like...I used to sit and refine the daydream until one day I decided to write a story and used that as the setting.

Alice is kind of how I picture myself. She knows what she should and shouldn't do, she knows what's right and wrong but she's weak and can't help herself. I actually think that more than my death stories, It Wasn't is a tragedy mainly because Alice James is a tragic hero.

Shay, from "Splendor with the Chance" has a lot in common with me personality-wise. Blunt, curious, secretive, has a hard time telling people how he feels straight up...he's a buildup of me and all of my friends.

Ryan in A Whispering Campaign is sort of based off of me. In an odd way because I don't consider myself either a boy or a senior in high school.

But then again, so is the girlfriend.
    But only slightly.

I guess there's a bit of me on every character in my stories. But nothing too major or intentionally put.

I'm am, however, adding stuff that has happened to me to my plotlines. For example: In I am young and I don't care, when Frank almost passes out in the shower is straight from what I've experienced. But, again, it's nothing major.

EDIT: I just remembered that in the said story, Frank is bad at math. And so am I.

The religious views in Leviticus are based off the following people in this way:
Brendon; the way I used to be.
Ryan; the way I am now.
    Spencer; Andie.

Sometimes. I think there's always a little bit of me in my characters, that's how they come into the world. But it's not normally a complete and utter thing.
I'm writing a story at the moment that is entirely based off of my experiences. That is partly because I don't write fan-fiction and MCR are in it, and partly because the whole basis of the story is ripped right out of my life. But I'm not writing me. The style in which the main character thinks/talks is completely different to me. It's mainly just experiences that we have in common.

I think in all of my stories there is a little bit of me.
It seems to be more of I take little bits of everyone I've ever known and put them into a character. :)

    Mine do to.
But the new chapter of A Whispering Campaign is titled 'Fall Out Boy,' and I'm not a huge fan.

I do add bits and pieces of myself into stories but the only one where it's purely myself is 'Doomsday'.

Grace from I Can't See What You See, When I Look At The World is loosely based off me. Bits and pieces at least. nothing to overdone. She typically represents what could be seen as my timid side.

Alexandra from Tear Yourself In Two Again is somewhat based off my fun-loving side. But she better represents some of the struggles based from my real life.

In a way, you could say each original character is a different part of me. But not all of me.

In The Blackest Years Dahlia's family life is a little based off mine. I just made it more intense. Her relationship with her brother, though, is completely like mine.

Other than that, all my characters have bits and peices of me in them.

Andy from "Morals Matter" is becoming a lot like me, with political view points and his activist stands. Oh...and I already mentioned V for Vendetta twice Disgust
