There are so many galaxies in which there are so many stars that have star systems in which there are so many planets, that statistically it's almost impossible the same conditions that are on Earth not to repeat somewhere in the Universe.
Not to mention that are theories saying that there may be more Universes.
I think there is life somewhere out there. I don't think they have visited us or that they are carbon-based, but they exist.

There's people who have claimed to have seen aliens.
There's also unexplainable sitings that weren't seen by just one person, but many.
That seems like a lot more proof than the other argument has.
Also, there's plenty of other galaxies and possibly other universes that haven't been discovered.

I believe aliens are real. No one really knows for a fact, though. I'm one of those people that has to see it to believe it. I just don't think they've visited us, it would take them millions of years to get here. People who claim to have seen them, I think missaw what may have been an airplane or something of the sort.

But we have no statistics on the majority of the galaxies out there to make those assumptions. There obviously is a chance the conditions on Earth could repeat, but we don't have statistical evidence. We don't even have our entire solar system understood yet.

I personally do think there is life out there somewhere, but I've just accepted the fact that there is no logical way for me to explain why I feel that way. It's just one of those opinions you can't verify.

    I hate those. :shifty

^ But who ever said that these other lifeforms can only survive with Earth conditions?
When you think about it, there are different galaxies we know nothing of, universes perhaps, but there is also theories of different dimensions that exist beyond our third.
We are such a tiny, tiny planet in a vast universe. When you think about it, we know so little...
However, I really don't think that aliens have ever visited our planet. Not yet, anyway.

I have to yet make up my mind.

I know that the universe is infinate.
But maybe we were accidents. Maybe life wasn't meant to happen. Maybe we just did. Maybe we are alone in the universe.

    But, again.
    I kind of doubt that.
There has to be somebody else out there.
They could be just like us, or they could be totally different.

I hope that there are "aliens" out there.

I just think that there's almost got to be something else outthere. Light years away, just somewhere out there.

But maybe we all don't live at the same time. I have weird... ideas. Like in the solar system, there are no other planets with life forms on them at the moment. But maybe once Earth dies out and the solar system chops and changes [if it will] another planet will have it's turn.

    We might never know.

I agree... there's something out there, living on another planet. Wish they we're friendly and maybe, help humans to lessen their use of machines/technology to avoid much pollution! Oh, that's impossible. Silly Me. I believe in Aliens.

Note To Self: Be an astronaut and explore the universe, live there. Maybe in Venus? Nah... =]

I think it's a bit naive to assume that, out of the entire universe, we are the only ones here. I mean, there are so many different galaxies out there. Didn't the Hubble Space Telescope find thousands of different galaxies, once, after zooming in on an apparently blank spot in space? There's millions of celestial bodies within just one galaxy, so imagine how many there can be totally in thousands of them all put together. So, I think it's a bit impossible for there to not be some form of life, inhabiting at least one of those atronomical bodies.

Personally, I am a firm believer in the extra-terrestrial. It sounds ridiculus, but I am totally willing to believe that there are other intelligent beings out there. I'm actually kind of a nerd, when it comes to this stuff. :shifty:

UFO sightings, abduction claims, visitors; I believe in it.
I believe in the Travis Walton case.
I believe in the Betty and Barney Hill abduction case/ Zeta Reticuli Incident.
And I am almost able to believe the Antonio Villas Boas abduction.

As long as the stories are convincing enough, I can totally believe it. And that's what makes me believe that there are definitely other intelligent beings out there.

What gets to me/what I don't understand is why people say aliens can only survive with water etc.

On Mars they said if there were signs of water there would be life. Who says alien life forms need water? We know nothing about the conditions they live in. Has anyone considered the possibility that there is intelligent life on the Sun?
Everyone assumes it's too hot or an unsuitable environment, but we're talking about aliens which we know nothing about. They could be able to survive in all sorts of strange conditions.

We need an open mind when thinking about this kind of thing.

Well, yeah... but aliens and intelligent life are different things. Life may not necessarily mean little green men, either.
As far as our earthly knowledge goes, nothing can survive without water. Or oxygen. Gas exchange, respiration, etc. How could something survive in a climate like the sun's? What would this said life form use as food?

I'm not saying that it's impossible for there to be life out there, but I do not believe in "alien sightings" or whatever. If there was life out there--at least in terms of the science we already know--it would be much like our own Earth, I'd imagine. Perhaps farther behind or more advanced. Because Earth has ideal living conditions.

    Who the heck knows.

I'm not sure that I necessarily believe that there are aliens but I'm sure that somewhere in the universe there would be life of some sort.

Even if it is a singular celled organism.

I do believe there is other lifeforms out there in the universe.
On Mars they've found traces of water so other planets and maybe even other galaxies have lifeforms having the same thoughts as we do about "are there others like us."
I don't feel for the they have to look like skeletons or webbed feet and hands and have bizarre powers.

I believe in other life forms in the universe. To say the species on planet Earth are the only living creatures out there is a bit arrogant.

Maybe there is another Earth- like planet in th universe. There should be one cause the universe is so vast.
I agree. Maybe the whole of the Solar System replicates somewhere and are trying to figure the same things out as we are. Who knows? Maybe people there are EXACTLY the same as us and are doing the exact thing that we are doing now, like, you know? Another you? Pretty creepy, huh?

I believe that there is life out there. The universe is just too huge for there not to be. However, I believe that there could be other interesting things than life. Things we haven't discovered yet.

Sometimes I believe we are the only creatures around.

Think about what a tiny, tiny chance it was that we would exist.... that we could exist, firstly, and then that we DO.

    :cheese:

    It's a ridiculously small number.

So - yes - the universe is ridiculously large.
I don't know if I believe we would ever actually get close enough to be in contact with anything we could on any level understand. I.e. see, hear, etc.

I do believe there are other life forms in the universe, because I have no reason to believe otherwise. We are here, are we not? What makes us so special?

However, I don't believe these 'aliens' fly around in space ships, around our planet. I mean, come on, we don't go probing around other planets that are outside of our own solar system, so why would they?
