I absolutely HATE HATE HATE that word. I HATE it when fellow black people are like, "'Sup my nigga?" to others blacks. Let me tell you. If another black person ever called me their "nigga" I'd fucking go off on their asses. I wouldn't be nice at all. That word has been used for so many years in such a deroggatory way that it is stupid to use it in a "friendly" connotation. Do white people call each other crackers? Do spanish people call each other spics? Do other asians call each other chinks? No. So don't let a black person ever call me a "nigga" because I don't play that shit.

Sorry, I'd just like to mention that as a Spaniard who looks more Mexican/Latin than Spanish, 'spick' is a derogatory term used for Latin Americans, not Spanish. Spanish people from Spain are not spicks. And it is almost worse to be called that when you're not Latin in the first place.

*cheers* I totally agree but it pisses me off more when the black wanna be's use it... SHUT THE HELL UP YOU WHITE ASS FREAKS! Ok... I just don't understand why they think that they have an accent all of the sudden, call each other 'nigga', and then they go walking around in clothes made for 10 degrees weather when we live in MIAMI FRIKKIN' FLORIDA! -done-

Sorry. I didn't know that. Most of the time when I hear the word used as an insult it's towards the spanish/ latin people in general. I wasn't calling them that. I was just saying...

When I was in middle school their was this kid who always hung out with the blacks and he was "allowed" to say "nigga". I was like, "WTF?" I bet if I said it they'd kick my ass.

They wouldn't kick your ass here, I'm considered the minorty here. I'm one of the only 'white' people here and what sucks more is that I'm still considered the majority and I live in a place where all you hear is Spanish.

Most of my friends are white even though our group is pretty diverse. I'm considered white because I don't "act" black.

I've always tried to be diverse in my friend selection. I feel uncomfortable if I'm around too many people of one race. Black, white, hispanic, asian... It makes me feel suffocated. Surrounded.

I agree, but at my school, it's Asians or white people. And I hang out with white people too - Hell, I hang out with almost anyone. But the people I eat lunch with and are my 'core' group of friends, so to speak, are all Asian.

You'd hate to be me, I've never had a friend who isn't white xD

In fact, in my primary school, there were probably 5 non-white people. In my school now, 20 maximum. And thats out of over 1,000 students. Of course, next year will be different, because in September I'll be at College. Catholic College, but there are a lot of muslims at that school. Thats because the College is in Blackburn, a town with one of the largest middle eastern populations in the country. Its something like 25% asian. For a small town, its a lot. Hey, there was a reason Condoleeza Rice visited here. Good for PR.

Its kind of strange to imagine that in the ten minute journey from my village to the town, the ethnicity shifts from being almost exclusively white to very diverse. Of course, my schooling did have a lot to do with it. It still should, kinda, because its weird to think of girls in Hijabs at a school while crucifixes bearing Jesus loom above their heads, but it would be very un-politically correct to refuse muslims at a Catholic school.

'course, I'm not Christian, but they wouldn't refuse me. I was baptised and confirmed and all the rest of it, but I'm just as non-christian as the muslim kids. Diffrenece is, I'm white (ignore the Catholic credentials for now). So; muslims going to a Catholic school makes people angry around here. They say "but there are all muslim schools in this area. What's wrong with those?"
Whereas, me? I get away with it.

Well racism sucks and I wanted to say something about south park (wich uses racism as a form of entertaiment) About the episode where they talk about Costa Rica I’d like to make some clarifications, you might care you might not but I do care, Costa Rica is not some dipshit hole where all you find is hookers, drugs and houses falling to pieces, this country has it’s issues like any other but I wanted to widen up a little bit the square view some people has of Latin America in general, yes a lot of people immigrate to the states looking for jobs, cuz thanks to America and the capitalism there are not enough jobs here, and Costa Rica I must accept it’s not perfect, some of the roads are in bad shape (well they’re crap) and there is poverty but we have a lot of GOOD professionals, AND San Jose the capital is not a bunch of rotting buildings.

Yes I am a proud citizen of Costa Rica, a proud latin american and it really pissed the hell outta me , and even tough I complain that we might lack of products the states posses I love my country and I felt compelled to write this, thank you for your time.
And at least we don’t go to other countries and murder innocent people in order to control the oil prices deceiving our citizens telling them they’re fighting for their country.
    ******************************
and all racist in any form can shove a shovel up their ass, cuz that what they deserve

^If you want to complain about your country's problems then start a topic on it. But don't come to the racism thread to bash Americans.

I was actually never able to make any friends who were African American except like one. They always picked on me because I wasn't black and in our school, the whites were always the ones who got it. If a white kid in my school was mean to a black one, they got suspended, no questions asked, sometimes even expelled and it wasn't even that big a deal. But if a black kid did it to a white kid, they got away free.

I'm not racist in any way, shape or form. I think it's retarded to hate someone for anything based on prejudice.
My family are pretty bad about it though and it pisses me off when they say stuff about blacks, or hispanics. They always make derogatory remarks about them, I say something about it. They will usually get pissed off at me and on one ocassion, a remark was made about me because I defend them. I'd really rather not go into the remark though. It was pretty bad.

I believe that. Reverse racism isn't uncommon.

    Was it "nigger-lover"? I wouldn't be surprised. That's a common insult towards non-racist whites...

Everyone is a bit prejudice. I wouldn't call it racist though. But everyone makes generalizations or believes in stereotypes, be it subconscienciously (sp?) or on occassion, whether they want to admit it or not. It doesn't make you a bad person. It's natural...
