It's the way it's written, I suppose. Some people think they can get away with writing a slash where the main character is literally Mary-Sue or cliche 'no home, no parents, no friends, life sucks' kind of stuff that I see
a lot on Mibba here... And they get away with it simply because it's not a girl who's in the main role. (Sorry peeps, I just don't enjoy reading the same cliche over and over
)
All pairings are good when they are written well. I have read some
very good het pairings where the girl is a brilliant character, worked out and well planned. Of course, the pairing isn't what matters - the story is. In all honesty, once I've handled some really bad story writing (grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and flow) for like, 30 or so chapters, because the plot and idea was
really good.
- i saw sparks:
- I've read my fair share of both, and there's just as much poorly-written, clichéd slash stories with poorly-developed male characters as there are poorly-written, clichéd het stories with poorly-developed main characters (and so on with femmeslash as well). I don't believe in judging a story based solely on the main pairing.
