They do. I rarely find a female character I enjoy that doesn't seem two-dimensional or like a caricature. I also hate all of the synonyms for vagina, so that makes het sex scenes rather unenjoyable.

I love slash in fanfiction (or original stories that are written like fanfiction but with different names, you know), but I will happily read femmeslash or het too, I don't have a preference.

I love slash. I live and breathe it. I watch shows and ship all the attractive male characters. If there are gay characters in a show, I'll auto-tune days in advance just to watch. Or gay movies. Oh god, yes, LOGO. But no, seriously, I adore slash. It's what I do best. I have no idea why, not really, unless... Well, there are guys who are just ridiculously attracted to females doing sexual things, so perhaps, my brain is wired the opposite way? Hmm... Anyway, yes, slash, everywhere. Slash all over Mibba. All over FF.Net. =D I will apologize to those who prefer het when the publishing industry balances out like a seesaw. Cute

I like it.. depending on what it is. Like.. I have a thing against Waycest fpr some reason.. but I like reading things like Frerard, Billieard, Trillie and Pete Wentz/Patrick Stump (not sure what the name is) And I don't mind crossovers (Fall Out Boy/My Chemical Romance Green Day/My Chemical Romance My Chemical Romance/The Used Avenged Sevenfold/The Used and so on) But slash is basicly the only thing I read online besides song and album fics.

    Pete/Patrick is called Peterick. Cute

You should try Mikey Way/Pete Wentz. I think you'd enjoy it. ^_^

Well, I feel a little uncomfortable with MCR slashes (possibly because of the abundance of poorly written MCR slashes on here), but slash as a whole doesn't bother me. I mean I used to write cute lil slash fanfics of my favorite cartoon characters when I was in high school.

This happens more with stuff I find on tumblr, but I see a lot of fetishizing of homosexuality in slash. Also here with the more poorly written stuff. The reactions tend to be "Ooh! Look! Boys kissing!" with a "Support gay marriage 'cause it's hot!" sort of message or some crap like that. Though, this is almost exclusively the crap (and those people on tumblr who hate Elementary because of Lucy Lui -- bad Sherlock fandom, bad!). And a chunk of those people who only ship the two good looking white guys.

I love slash and femmeslash, but I also love het. The more I get into fandom, the more diverse my pairings have gotten. I really don't have any pairings I dislike. There are some I don't read, simply because I don't ship it. -shrug- None I thinka re any weirder than the others. I've got weird ships too.

I think there are just as many terrible female characters as there are terrible male characters, but for some reason the female characters get the crap. Bad character traits in females get way more recognition than those in male characters. Part of the "player/slut" dynamic, I suppose. I know I'm guilty of it. I dislike Pepper Potts way more than I dislike Tony Stark, but that's mostly because Tony's a part of a ship I like.

I like slash, but it takes a certain slash to reel me in. Having been forced to endure quite some awful slashes from the MCR fandom on another site I kind of go on still, I sometimes shy away from a story depending on the summary. I love slash if it has substance and not just sex, sex, sex. I love it even more if the sex scenes are done tastefully. I don't know it takes a couple lucky stars to come across an amazing slash. But in general I like slash, just depends on the writing.

I'm not a huge slash person, I prefer het and femmeslash, but I do end up reading a good deal of slash because it's what's most prevalent in my fandom. I don't have anything against it, one of my favorite stories that I'm reading right now on lj is slash, but I'll have to admit that it does rub me the wrong way when people make it out like slash is automatically better than het just based on the fact that it's slash. I've read my fair share of both, and there's just as much poorly-written, clichéd slash stories with poorly-developed male characters as there are poorly-written, clichéd het stories with poorly-developed main characters (and so on with femmeslash as well). I don't believe in judging a story based solely on the main pairing.

I prefer to read het because I like that balance of male and female, and most of the fanfic characters that I want to read about are male, but I love female characters as well, so het has both XD I would also say that I prefer femmeslash to slash (which seems like a rare opinion on this site) because I enjoy reading about female characters. I haven't given up the hope on the female character, if only because I've read so many stories with male characters that are just as cringeworthy.

It's the way it's written, I suppose. Some people think they can get away with writing a slash where the main character is literally Mary-Sue or cliche 'no home, no parents, no friends, life sucks' kind of stuff that I see a lot on Mibba here... And they get away with it simply because it's not a girl who's in the main role. (Sorry peeps, I just don't enjoy reading the same cliche over and over Sad)
All pairings are good when they are written well. I have read some very good het pairings where the girl is a brilliant character, worked out and well planned. Of course, the pairing isn't what matters - the story is. In all honesty, once I've handled some really bad story writing (grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and flow) for like, 30 or so chapters, because the plot and idea was really good. XD
    i saw sparks:
I've read my fair share of both, and there's just as much poorly-written, clichéd slash stories with poorly-developed male characters as there are poorly-written, clichéd het stories with poorly-developed main characters (and so on with femmeslash as well). I'm not the biggest fan of slash. I don't have any qualms with it when it comes to others writing it -- I couldn't honestly care less what others wanted to write, anyways -- but I don't personally read or write it.

I don't write it because I don't feel like I'm familiar enough with all of the intricacies -- especially when it comes to slash smut -- to write it well. I have gay and lesbian characters in a lot of my stories (though, strangely, not any of my stories that I've posted on this site) and there are often a few scenes involving their relationships, but I've never managed to successfully pull off the main character being gay or lesbian. Probably because I'm not, if we're being frank.

I don't read it online, either, but that's primarily because I'm pretty darn picky about what stories I read online. I almost exclusively read heterosexual romance stories (most containing smut) when I'm reading online. It's probably because that's what gets to me the easiest, and that's what I can envision myself in even though I'm never like any of the main characters but whatever. I can't imagine myself in a slash smut situation, obviously, and I'm just not the kind of person that gets off thinking of others doing the dirty, you know? /shrug.

Regular stories though, like out of a book I'll pick up at the store? I read practically anything and everything when it comes to those.

    I think I'm weird.

I like slash, but I'm far from a raving yaoi fangirl, I'll only read it if it's a fandom I'm into. Since most of my fandoms are video game series (Silent Hill and Grand Theft Auto for the most part) I don't read a whole lot of fics on this site.

Overall, I like het, slash and femmeslash as long as its well written.

When it comes to writing, I mainly write het because its easier, but I'm in the process of writing a Grand Theft Auto V slash fic. The slash doesn't take up the whole bulk of the story though, it kind of takes a back seat for most of it. While I don't mind reading porn without plot stories, I dislike writing them.

I've tried to read slash, but I've found it's not really my thing. Power to the people who write it though! I've found a lot of slash writers write very well.
