I also dislike the notion that trans* individuals are seen as an entirely different sex or gender. Yes, there are some trans* people who identify outside of the binary but I feel it is rude to make the separation of their sex and gender more concrete by treating them as an "other". Lol, I hope that made sense.

    Yes. This.

I really hate it when people are trying to be open-minded and they say stuff like "I'm attracted to men, women, and trans people!" I hate that. It completely disrespects gender identities, as if trans people are "not woman/man enough." A transgender woman is a still woman. A transgender man is still a man.

Although it should be okay for genderqueer/genderfluid people to have their own? Because they are kind of their own? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Trans* encompasses any nonbinary gender such as third gender, genderqueer, or bigender.

I'm aware of that, but I was talking about specifically transsexual people. I understand that trans* as an umbrella term could be considered its own gender.

This would sort of make sense if the person saying that they like trans* were bisexual. Some bisexual people like members of the trans* community while others aren't attracted to them. Same goes with Polysexuals. they can't help who they don't find sexy anymore than who they do. :)

If you're aren't attracted to trans* women or trans* men and you are attracted to men or women, you are transphobic, sorry. A trans* man is a man. If you are attracted to men, how would you know if that man you met is a trans* man or not? (And asking is just wrong and should get one kicked.)

I think denying a tran* person's existence or refusing to be comfortable with their transsexuality is more transphobic than not being attracted to them. I try not to belittle someone over their preferences because I know what it's like to be told my orientation doesn't exist.

I'm not trying to belittle anyone over their preferences. If someone isn't attracted to trans* woman, how would they know unless they have psychic powers the rest of us don't? If they think they can identify every trans* woman, then they're transphobic or at least have serious issues with the trans* community. And if they ask people, then they're an ass. So unless this person is psychic, I'm not sure how they're able to identify all the trans* woman within the women category to see who they aren't attracted to.

It's like me being attracted to girls doesn't mean I'm only attracted to girls who like girls because you can't just tell that. Your attractions come first and your knowledge comes later.
