Not planning enough. I tend to just go at things with a vague idea of how I want it to end, but then I end up doing something weird in the middle that messes up my original ending. That's probably the reason why I've never finished a (good) story in my life, because I just seem to drop off when I realise that my original ending isn't going to work.

I'm also ridiculous when it comes to over-describing. My sentences can end up being stupidly long flowery things that, by the time I finish reading them through, defeat the purpose of the original action because I can't actually remember what the original action is.

And my male characters are always the same - most of them are these totally awesome bad-asses with a penchant for music and being rude to everyone they meet. Facepalm

Though it's difficult for me to be productive if I don't work this way, I always have a lot of different pieces going on, and it can definitely become daunting and distracting at times.

For me it's details. I suck at putting the right amount of detail that a story needs.

Getting places. Transition. Linking chapters/scenes together. By the name of all writers I can't do it. I stumble, cry, get lost and all. That's why I can't write in chronological order. It just doesn't happen.

It just dawned on me that I can't write a story that centers around romance. If a story of mine has romance in it, it has to be a side-plot or something, because my characters are generally never motivated by romance, aside from a few side characters. XD (Man, I gotta spice things up.)

Mesmerizing, clever, sometimes evil, humorless, ridiculous, pretentious main characters. Who tend to be some form of engineer. Or scientist. Usually either quite short or very tall. I write these dudes too much.

I get in over my head with science fiction. Research is for the weak. (Hence why I write in fantasy universi.)

I cannot, for the life of me, write an unhappy ending. I try to justify it in that my main goal in my writing is to make people happy, but the fact of the matter is that I just can't end a story on a sour note. I've killed a few characters to get the ball rolling and I've created a few dead parents, but whenever I plan on killing a major character, I chicken out because I get too attached. It's a horrible habit. Facepalm

It's not necessarily something that I'd consider to be a weakness on other sites, but on Mibba, the fact that I'm a length writer is definitely a weakness, if only because I feel like Mibbians are less willing to read lengthier oneshots or stories with lengthier chapters than people on livejournal or AO3.

Writing thousands of words for a story in first person only to realize later that it might have been best to write it third person. Grr

I'm really bad about re-using the same phrases or very similar ones over and over, both in the same story and even across different stories. Facepalm
I'm also bad about forgetting to describe things adequately in a physical sense. Like you will probably know everything my characters are thinking and feeling, but you may have no real idea what they look like. (And that is bad, and I know that is bad. Facepalm)
Also, a fandom specific weakness, I feel like I'm particularly weak at writing the character Santana Lopez. (I am so envious of anyone who can write her well!)

I love solemn writing, but I have this little sarcasm parasite that gnaws into literally everything and ends up making it funny. I don't want funny. I want serious.

Same. When I write a novel, it's always gonna be at least 50,000 words, and my readers definitely dwindle as the story goes on. Facepalm

I'm horrible at leaving things to the imagination. I always have to explain everything about every character or else I feel like I'm not being specific enough. Facepalm

I'm very weak at writing the transition of relationships between two characters. I am always off with the pacing of the story and it's kind of frustrating for me. I don't want a character that has been an annoyance to my main since chapter one to automatically become a love interest by chapter four it's too cliche for me, but I also don't want to keep those characters enemies by chapter 15.

I can't write a non romantic story. And honestly I hate it. I absolutely abhor writing romance because I always butcher it at some point.

I try so hard and then a guy characters comes in and I'm like "oh hey, love interest! " and it kills me.

I actually considered writing a dystopian story set in a world full of women, and then I realized I would just end up turning it into a femme slash.
