I write all my stories romance because:
    1. I find that romance is easier for me to write than any other subject. Like, horror for example. I don't want horror movies because I'm easily frightened so I cant write about horror even if I tried.
    2. It's interesting. I can make it go any way I want it to. I could kill off the main male character and have the female character run off with the main male characters best friend if I wanted to. It just works that way.

I write Paranomral romance usually because:
    1. I find paranormal things interesting. Vampires are the shit.
    2. I cant make different species up. I can make a Sunarian which is like a type of Fairy from the sun if I wanted to.

I love writing sex scenes because I like to incorporate a bit of violence into them. Sex is violent no matter which way you slice it. It's almost innate, drilled into human nature, that sex is good, and with sex comes pain. So humans, subconsciously, enjoy pain. And I want more people to realize that... I guess? Who doesn't like sex and violence?

But I do have more personality characteristics like a guy so I may be the only one.
    Anyone agree? :shifty
I like reading violent sex. I like writing violent sex.
I sure as hell wouldn't like to have violent sex. :shifty

I like to write fan fictions because:
    a) They're easier to write because at least one character isn't a figment of your imagination.
    b) It makes it easier to come up with a plot by using the person's hometown/state as the or one of the main locations in the story.

I like to read fan fictions because:
    a) I sometimes gain information about those who are in the story.
    b) Gives me something more to enjoy about the 'famous person' that is starred in it.
    c) It gives me inspiration for my own fan fictions. :tehe:

I write fanfiction because if I wrote original fiction the stories would have less meaning for me.

And I don't know why any real writer would deliberately create a story in a way that it means less to them.

    Why I write slash:
    Because I enjoy it
I like making Matt Rubano from Taking Back Sunday confused over his sexuality :tehe:
I enjoy all that comes with writing slash
    I enjoy people enjoying it.

Why I write about Taking Back Sunday:

    They're my hero's
I've been a fan of Matt Fazzi since late 2005
    They're good role models
    They're all interesting characters
    They're epic wins
    I love them.

    Why I write about Brian Schechter;

Because it makes me unique in a sense.

    I write Original Fiction because:

-There are no people I really like enough to write about.
-I feel like I’m stealing someone else’s idea or identity (but for some reason celebrity pictures on banners or something like that don’t bug me)
-I like making up my own characters
-I don’t know anything about celebrities-especially not enough to write about them as a main character

    I write heterosexual because:

-I’m not sure I could pull slash off very well (though I might try some time)
-I can’t really think of any plots that aren’t
-It’s a little bit out of my comfort zone
-I get most of my ideas from RP and that’s the pairing that it ends up being

I don't often write fanfiction, because:
    - I often think that the famous people would disappoint me if I ever met them in real life.
    - There aren't an awful lot of people I'm really that interested in writing about.
    - The famous people I do love and am interested in aren't from MCR or anything, and writing stories about them on Mibba would probably result in no readers or feedback at all.

    I write original fiction because:
    - It's a nice outlet. If there's someone I really hate/am sick of, I can turn them into a character and then brutally kill them off.
    - I like to have the feeling that my characters are mine and all mine. They're basically just my imaginary friends and I love that.

When I write slash, it's because:
    - It's hot. :file:

When I write het (erotica), it's because:
    - I'm very interested in gender roles and I like to experiment, do the opposite of what people think. So I might have a self-conscious, coy sort of girl that turns out to be an insanely vicious sadist in bed, and I might have some apparently macho guy that likes to be kicked into a little ball of submission and arousal. I love using sex scenes to convey a character's personality like that, and for some reason it comes out more naturally when it's heterosexual.
    - I sometimes use it as a means of expressing sexual frustration. (TMI, I know.)

    I write fanfiction because:

    1. I can.
    2. I like playing around with the characters. I do it subconciously, might as well write it down.

    I write slash pairings because:
I like those pairings. You can do so much with a slash pairing using nothing but canon information.

I don't write sex scenes because:
    I'm a virgin.

    I don't write fan-fiction because:
    a) Existent characters seem a bit to easy to write about, plus, I'm not interested in writing about someone that already exists.
    b) I find it quite boring because I don't have to go too deep into character development; of course that changes if you're writing AU.

    I write original fiction because:
    a) I love creating my characters, seeing how they develop as the plot goes deeper.
    b) Backstory... I love writing backstory of my characters, but never posting it because it is redundand for the story.
    c) Originallity. I love writing original characters that I can manipulate according to the plot.

    I don't write slash because:
    a) It's kind of awkward for me to imagine two guys having sex. I mean, yeah, I don't mind reading slash, but... writing it? I suck at heterosexual sex scenes, imagine slash!
    b) I prefer writing about penis, vaginas and boobs than about penis/penis/anus/anus.
    c) It's difficult to portray both characters as men, sinche I'm thinking on the vagina perspective and I often end up making one of the characters a guy with girl's personality.

Personally I don't find it easy to write.
With an original character you have no limits or restrictions.
With fanfiction characters that are based on real people, there aren't a lot of restrictions, but there a few.

    I write fan-fiction because:
    a) I like writing outside the box of normal fanfic.
    b) I like the challenge of putting famous people in completely different situations.
    c) Sometimes, fanfic can speak to more people than just original fic.
    d) It can be the best way to get feedback on my writing.
    e) I just plain love it, k?

    Why I write het:
    a) I can relate to it the most.
    b) I can't write slash for my life. Believe me, I've tried.

Why I write about My Chemical Romance:
    a) Gerard Way is one of the easiest people for me to attempt to portray.
    b) I know the most about the band, making writing easier.
    c) They're good role models.
    d) Gerard Way is one of my favorite people to write.
    e) I don't think anybody here would even read a fanfic about Data the andriod from Star Trek.

    Why I write original fiction:
    a) Complete freedom with characters and other things.
    b) Sometimes it's the best way for me to get my point across.

    I write slash because:
I think that it is exponentially more interesting and fascinating to write about, considering that, in the context of published writing, het characters and such have become so boring and repetitive. I think that since there's a certain, subtle tangy flavor to it, a kind of controversial feel to it, I just want to write it. I guess I just also find it more attractive, since I've lost any liking I may have had of female bodies, or descriptions of them, for that matter...If that makes any sense.

I write My Chemical Romance because:
How interesting their personalities are in real life. It gives me so many different ways to approach turning them into characters. I think that also helps me when I need to alter some of their personalities a bit to fit a story. There's a myriad of different kinds of people I can conjur up when I use them.

I don't write original fiction because:
I don't think I'd be able to think up of a completely original character, without the fear of him or her not being interesting enough.

    I don't write romance because:
a.) I don't have enough experience to realistically portray romance
b.) It's kind of boring to me. Why not write about flying orangutans from Venus throwing moldy potatoes at us?
c.) Romance usually equates to some degree of sex, which I'm not comfortable writing about.
d.) For no explicable reason, I'd just be really, really, really self-conscious writing about romance.

    I write fanfiction because:
a.) Sometimes, I'm just too lazy to come up with my own characters.
b.) I'm guaranteed an audience when I write fanfiction--a luxury you don't have with original fiction.
c.) It's a great outlet for my obsessive devotion to the bands I'm into.
d.) I just like to imagine what these musicians would do in the situations I put them in.
e.) I get to toy with reality (and, in the case of older bands, history). There's a really powerful feeling I get there. Maybe I'm on my way to a God complex or something.

    I write humor because:
a.) It's therapeutic for me. Writing humor helps me escape reality for a while and generally look on the bright side of things.
b.) It's easy to tell when people like humor--they laugh. With serious fiction, it can be harder to tell.
c.) I'm used to it. When I try to write serious fiction, it tends to have a lot of sentimentality. Humor just comes more naturally to me.

    I write original fiction because:
a.) A wider amount of people could "get it" than if it were a fanfiction.
b.) It's satisfying to be able to say that every single aspect of a story is entirely my handiwork.
c.) Generally speaking, people take original fic more seriously than fanfiction.
d.) I'd like to get published someday, and original fiction is more likely to get published than fanfic (even if it's RPF, which is legal to sell).
e.) Sometimes I want to express ideas that need their own characters and settings to be expressed.

    I write original fiction because:
-I don't have any bands that I love enough to write about.
-I don't wanna' share my characters.
-It's harder for me. I'd have to come up with a whole universe instead of altering/understanding personalities (which I can do in my sleep) and stick a character in my little town.
-Because it's harder for me, it's more rewarding.

    I write slash because:
    -I'm bored with het.
-I cannot write decent female main characters. Well, I can, I just don't like them and choose not to.
-It weirds out my guy friends. Shifty
-Boobs just get in the way of so many things. :coffee:

    I don't post...anything because:
    -I never finish anything.
    -I just don't wanna.

I write my own fandom because:
-I'm not ready to turn H.A.N. into a chaptered story and I have more freedom with multiple oneshots.

I write about stoner kids because:
-My stories take place in a weird mixture of my hometown and the surrounding areas. My hometown and the surrounding areas have a lot of stoner kids. There you go.

    I write original fiction because:
    - I love the freedom you can have: I don't like to veer too greatly from how people are in real life, which is why I don't write AU fanfiction. Obviously I have nothing against people who do but it doesn't work for me, personally.
    - I adore creating my own characters.
    - I like the fact that nobody else will have written about those people.

    I write het because:
    - I love writing het and don't like writing guy/guy slash.
    - I like female characters the way I write them because unless I want them to be, they aren't whiney or anything like that. I hope.
    - I like to write the same things I like to read.

    I write romance because:
    - Love is a huge thing for me. In life and in the things I watch and the books I read, and what I write. It doesn't have to be requited or easy: the love just has to be there. It's such a strong emotion and it can make people do crazy things.

Sadly, those are the reasons I always hear as to why fanfiction is a joke or not real literature.

    And they aren't my reasons.

I think it actually takes a lot of work to make a fanfiction character believable.
And there is a lot of fanfiction on here that gets overlooked despite a built-in fanbase.

I write McFly fiction because they're one of my favourite bands and not only do I get alot from their music, but they inspire me greatly as people. Writing fics about them is my way of expressing that, and writing about them gives my fics whole new meanings for me.

I write slash because it just... appeals to me. There's something dangerous and beautiful about bandfic slash to me, and you can do so much with it. I especially like to write McFly slash because it's believable; if you watched any footage of them for five minutes you'd see that they all blatantly want to jump each other's bones. :file:

I've started writing het and original fiction because I wanted to try something new. I've started reading more het/OF lately, and the appeal of creating my own characters was irresistable.

    What's AU? :shifty

Um. I conditionally write Fanfiction because:
    Pros:
    1. I love the physical descriptions, obviously.
    2. ...I dunno really, I just start getting ideas and I run with them
    3. I get to speculate what [just for example] Justin Pierre would do in a situation. And usually in my fanfics it is a very odd one.
    4. It's sorta like daydreams on paper.
    5. This reason sort of cancels or lessens some of my cons coming up: I can put the people in situations that are so unimaginable that it might add or take away from who they are. [I still try to keep a realistic and accurate base, but the fucked up events pile on top of all that.] This helps make fanfic feel like an actual creative and worthwhile activity to me, therefore making it enjoyable
    Cons:
    1. I am a perfectionist about getting the personality, physical descriptions, etc. right because I feel like I owe it to the real people I'm writing about.
    2. This reason makes it tricky for me to write decently [as in I'm comfortable doing it and reading it over, etc.] about very many bands or people and that limits me a lot.
    3. For reasons such as that I only just recently got comfortable writing band fanfiction. [that and I just sorta stopped writing other fanfics.]
    4. I still think it is ultimately more cathartic to invent my own characters and worlds.

    I don't write slash because:
    1. I don't feel it's right to change someone's basic personality. [as I've already stated.] Sexual orientation is one of the most basic personality details and most slash-fics pair 2 men that aren't even gay and are certainly not so with each other.
    2. That is pretty much my reason. It just bugs me; this isn't meant to offend anyone who writes slash. I may not like it or understand, but to each his/her own, I suppose.

    Why I write original fiction:
    1. I always have, and I always will. Characters and their stories have always just sort of came to me.
    2. I feel less awkward describing their emotions and experiences because I created them, truly know them, and I don't have to worry so much about getting things right.
    3. That said, once you make a character you do have to stay true to them. Set down their basic personality and stick to it. [sorry for rant instead of reason, but I don't like "I can do what I want. Ha." as an attitude or reason for writing OF]
    4. I dunno. There's lots of great reasons, but they are kinda obvious and self-explanatory for any writer really [I think anyway.] So I will cease listing.
