Strengths

  • Wow
    I have strengths?
    I think, description.
I use a lot, and I think it's kinda of subjective whether or not
it creates a powerful story, but I'd like to think it does. :]

  • Thinking of amazing story plots and ideas. I just can never actually write them out fully.

I would be a fucking amazing muse.

  • I'm pretty good at creating characters. I know a lot of background stuff about my characters that's never going to be in the story, but it helps.

  • I'm awesome with plots. I do really good plots. But I never carry them out to my expectation. Its frustrating, like an artist who sees an image in his mind but when he paints it, its just a blob.

    Mine would be:
    - Coming up with original story plots.
    - Creating characters that differ from each story.
    - Writing in all points of view. Not to brag, but I think I do a pretty damn well job writing in all three points of view. I love 2nd person, though. Even if I don't mean to, I end up writing in it. I just love bringing the reading in more...making them feel like the narrator is talking to them.

    - Split Personalities (except for maybe in one)
    - Layouts

  • everything about characters.
my writing is always centered around the characters.
i need it to, sometimes, to make up for a lack of plot.

  • I've been told a lot lately that I'm really good at 2nd person. :cheese:

  • Description and Imagery

  • I've been told I'm good with dialogue by someone in my creative writing class.

She was completely honest with me too, regarding my strengths and weaknesses, so I know that what she said had validity.

    Yes, yes you do. :cute:
    Yes Your description is ah-mazing.

    ---

I’mma base this on what others have told me.

I’m good with metaphors. I apparently have a knack from imagery that’s, maybe not exactly unique, but at least different and yet very fitting. I think differently when writing my metaphors, I express them differently then the majority of writers. I’ve even sort of been called genius. :tehe: (Thanks Elizabeth. :arms: )
(The best examples are iBelong and this and these excerpts.)

I’ve been told I’m good at writing inner monologues.
(You can decide for yourself, Pretend Just Pretend is recommended in that case.)

Naming stories and chapters is sort of a strength. I always name every single chapter. And the I don’t halfass it either. I do proper names. x ]
(Pretend Just Pretend is a good example of when I put much effort into the titles)

Also the imagery thing, I’ve always been told I have a way with words and that my imagery is beautiful. (People are way to kind. :tehe: )

Psychology is my forte. I love to study psychology and I use the things I learn for writing my stories. I’m just good at incorporating it in my stories.
(Or so I’ve been told. Especially in the comments for Pretend Just Pretend and Unfamiliar Eyes)

Capturing emotions is another strength of mine. I’m good at “inward drama” as Isa called it. :XD

Complexity. Not like complex so that no one gets it but how it’s pieced together. It’s just, clever I suppose.
(A bit like the Saw movies maybe? x ] )

Writing stories that will have you on the edge of the chair going “omg, omg, omg! :cheese:” :tehe:
Suspenseful writing basically, I suppose you could say.

Other than that I personally like to believe that I write good dialogues and that I have realistic characters and that each one of them is an individual.
And that I can write in any POV, that I’m equally good at all of them.

My, I have a feeling no one’s gonna read that. :XD
    Quick summery? Uh, okay. Smiley
    So, my strengths then:
    - metaphors and imagery
    - inner monologues
    - titles
    - capturing emotions
    - using basic knowledge about human psychology to make stories believable.
    - complex plots
    - suspenseful writing

If I seem smug it's 'cause I am. Oh, yes. Smiley

  • I think I'm good with:
Descriptions - lately because I've been more inspired when I read books to add certain details here and there to my stories. And for one of my latest stories "I'm In Love With A Killer" I got a few comments where people said they liked the descriptions I put in. I mean, if you're a good writer, people will tell you, right?:shifty
    Story lines
    Story titles

  • Erm... I think I'm good with original plots and building up moments to make the reader excited for the climax - at least that's what I've been told :shifty

  • People tell me in comments I'm good at coming up with original plots lines. They also say they want to hug my stories. Which confuses me, but that must mean I'm doing something right in there...
And apparently I'm good at adding little details in that get people hooked, subtle things, and varying my sentence structure.

Personally I think I'm pretty good at varying sentence structure as well, and I do try to do original plots lines.

  • According to my mum, I write like someone a lot older. I think that's a strength. I wonder what I'll be writing like when I'm thirty.

I think I'm pretty good at description, and slipping little bits of almost accidental dark humour in there. And spontaneous oneshots. Most of my oneshots have come from sitting in front of my laptop and just writing, and it would seem that people like them. It's almost like kickwriting, yet they're coherent and fully-formed.

  • I guess I'm kind of good at dialogue; making it realistic, so it sounds like what real people would really say during conversations.
I might also be good at adjectives, using a large vocabulary, though I might just abuse my thesaurus a bit too much :shifty.
I've also been told I'm good at just explaining character personalities or forming good characte development.
