    From Wikipedia:
Writer's block is a phenomenon involving temporary loss of ability to begin or continue writing, usually due to lack of inspiration or creativity.
Here's a place where you can discuss your favourite ways to defeat writer's block.

When I have writer's block, something that usually helps it is going for a ride with my mom to my grandma's. I have the window rolled down, and just driving on the highway gives me ideas. Like...I usually get lots of ideas from that...

Well, that helped in the summer. It won't work anymore since its not as nice out...-shrugs-

    I drive around.
    Or watch the History channel.
I know, it's weird, but I start writing these fucked up fics [that I never finish] and sometimes I can write something normal[esque] then.

I spend too much time on here.

Like right now. I've had sortakinda writer's block since September. Early September. School always fucks me up.

But I stay up real late to write, like...four AM. But I can't lately 'cause I'm too busy.

So I'm not sure what I'm doing currently.
Rereading my old orignial fiction stories.

Rereading old stories, both by myself and other people.
Looking up lyrics, both old ones and those that are unfamiliar.
Getting in a 'mood' aka go obsessive until something comes to me. Though that's a very random happening.

But most of the time, it's incurable. Like the time I thought I lost it. You (and your readers and co-authors) just really have to wait until it comes back.

It's been back for a while, but I just need time to do so. I'll get it next week. :D

I have to either write something new or just not even try
My muse will come back when it is ready to do so, forcing it won't help

I do the same thing, with the fucked-up fics.
It's hard to do, but forcing myself to write something, anything, usually
helps so that I can get back to writing whatever I was originally aiming for.

    Watch television.
    Read books/magazines.

Those things normally give me inspiration to continue.

I don't do anything until it comes back.
    I can't..
Unless you ship me off to writing camp and have people force you to write like my mom did.
..Which is why I haven't written anything since like, July.
    O_o

I usually get inspiration during long car rides though. Or watching people out of my window.

I'm in pretty much complete writer's block all the time. >_> Except in reading. Then I can write.
Other than that I would be a fabulous muse. Considering I have way to many story ideas and no way to get them on paper.
    Eternal writer's block. ._.

I think he means above your avatar like ours says, "Story Editor".

Anyways, I get writers' block a lot and I end up deleting my story because it becomes very sloppy, so I don't force myself to write when I get writers' block. I usually overcome it when I listen to new songs like I found a Madina Lake song that helped me write my newest story. Also, this may sound awkward, but I also get ideas in the the bathroom. I can just stand in there and ideas will come to me easier. I find it really weird, but it is a thinking place.

I get a lot of ideas just from conversations with friends or while I'm in class.

Also, on the bus to and from school. It takes me quite a while there and back and so I've got a lot of time to just really contemplate my fics and where to go from where I got stuck.

When I get writer's block, it can last for months. I usually remedy it by listening to music that originally helped inspire whatever story I'm working on or wanting to start, jot down random ideas no matter how silly they are, or I'll get ideas and be able to write again from a conversation with one I would consider to be a writing muse to me.

I get all my good ideas in the shower...:shifty.

but when I when I get writer's block, what helps is to have a certain theme or pairing in mind and listen to a few songs, trying out the characters in each song. Sometimes, the song comes up with its own characters (I am NOT talking about St. Jimmy)

    I write late at night.
    Or just spontaneously.
I can hardly write in the holidays, I have to be at school to write.
I watch music channels mindlessly, its often shitty pop songs that set me off...
