As for princess.'s question... why are any of us here?

Did I clear up what I meant?
    Not...Really...
I mean...Specifically. What are animals for?

But other animals think "I think that animal will go through my stomach today" so why can't we :shifty

Btw, I have no problem with vegetarians, a few of my friends are vegetarians :)

But the other animals aren't as smart as us, are they?

I think that if the animals were killed humanely, if there truly was a humane way to kill, then it wouldn't be as cruel. [Don't mind my word choice.]

And, again, we weren't born with claws or fangs, so maybe we aren't exactly like other animals. Maybe we aren't supposed to think the same way they do.

We have evolved, like many other animals.

We don't really know if an anymal is smarter than us because we don't really know what they're thinking.

This really has nothing to do with the topic but it does, me and my friend were talking and I mentioned how the bear hunt has been cancelled and it's really stupid but people shoot the bears anyway. And she got kinda mad (she's an animal activist and vegetarian) and then I told her than an 11 year old boy was sleeping in a tent with his family and a bear broke into the tent and dragged the boy and ate him. Then she asked me if I would ever shoot a bear and I said I don't hunt but if it came down to saving my life or being eaten by a bear I would kill it and not think twice.

Life or death situations are different, I think.

I kill wasps. I feel bad but they scare the shit outta me.

And if it came down to a bear, then I would try to run away, piss my pants, then unfortunately kill it.

    You're right.
We really don't know for a fact if we're more intelligent than other animals.
I think we're all intelligent in our own ways.

    You can't outrun a bear , they're fast mofos.
You wouldn't think so because they're so fat =\

    xD
We had this presentation and they were like
"if you see a bear, make yourself look big and say "WHOAH BEAR!"
I'm like "I'm pretty sure they don't know that we call them BEARS, and I'm 5'3", even if I stand on my tippy toes wearing high heels and reach for the sky, there's no way I'm going to be taller than a 6 foot 600 pound bear."
Then they told me to play dead.
I was like "yes, because once it swatted me to make sure I WAS infact dead i wouldn't twitch, scream in pain after being clawed"
Anti bear hunt people annoy me as you can tell -_-

I kill mosquitoes, only because I'm scared of West Nile and they annoy me. Nobody takes my blood *glares*

I've always heard that when you encounter a bear, then just curl up into the fetal position. And then they'll apparently leave you alone, because that's like a sign of weakness.

But that makes no sense because if you were weak, then... wouldn't that mean they'd want to eat you?

    See that's what I thought o.o
I would eat something weaker than me if I was that hungry...

I think I'd be stupid enough to try and run. ahah
You're not supposed to look it in the eyes either, because then it thinks you're challenging it. Which I would do. I think I could wrestle a bear xD

But apparently, with wildcats, you're supposed to make yourself really tall, look it in the eye, and pick up any small children, as if to make you look motherly.

I really would rather not challenge a wildcat. I weight like 105 lbs, and I'm 5'4".

It wouldn't be that scared of me.

Oooh I saw a cougar once.
    I walked right passed it.
it watched a bunch of us walk to school.

People are sooo afraid of wolves where I'm from..
But they're actually more scared of you then you are of them.
I'm more scared of a moose than I am of a wolf =\
Maybe because my dog is part wolf >.>

My brother kinda squeals his ass off when there is any kind of bug around.

He lives in a refurbished apartment basement.
Everytime I visit him, he's all "OMMFG THERE IS A BUG."

    It is so friggin' funny...

If I see a bug in my room I won't sleep at night.
    Specially if it's a spider.
But only at night. During the day I'm okay with it.

I love how off topic we got xD

I suppose you could say they are used for dairy produce. I mean milk and eggs.

But even if they didn't have a purpose and weren't used for anything, I don't think that necessarily means you need to sentence them to death. I mean there are humans which may not be as useful as some and they aren't killed for not doing anything.

If you get what I'm saying.

^ I understand, and basically agree on all of that.

Except, the dairy products part, did you mean for us, or for the calf?
And did I just make sense?

I meant for us. The uses for animals that are not used for meat is for dairy produce.

    I'm vegetarian for 8 months in 3 days, now:cute:.
I don't miss meat at all and I love tofu and certain soya drinks.
I want to turn Vegan but, to be honest, I love cheese and I can't find Vegan cheese here:tehe:

I look at meat and kinda think:
"I wish I could eat meat again."
But I don't go for it and eat it. I accidently ate a bit of chicken that was in my salad and I was nearly sick.

    * I want to become Vegan because I hate the thought of cows having suckers on them and all animals in general like that.

What, you want us to wait till they die of bird flu before we eat them? :shifty Humans need to eat too. Yeah yeah, we don't need meat...Unless we have anemia. Or our lifestyles command it...

Name two animals that are exactly alike. :shifty And, how are we supposed to think? ...Oh, I don't think I need any food today. I'll just, you know, NOT eat anything.
