People say "God is Love" which means that God has something to do with falling "in Love" if you fall in Love with someone of the same sex, from those peoples points of view that actually means that God must be in some way agreeing with homosexuals.

Some people also argue that God is against sodomy (Anal sex) whether it's with man or woman, and others are just taking that out of context and saying he is against all homosexuals.

I actually consider myself omnisexual. Sort of. Nah, screw it. I'm just a weirdo for wanting to bed aliens.

Homosexuality isnt natural, but then nothing humans do is anymore. I respect people for who they are. Sexual oriantation doesnt affect a persons personality, and that is what I judge on. Though I dont want to watch two guys swapping spit as much as I wouldnt want to watch a straight couple do it.

I also believe though that people are allowed to be homophobic. People are allowed to dislike things about people. Its free speech. I do not agree with belittling/hurting/discriminating people on their sexuality though. It is fine if you dont like homosexual people, but it should be accepted that they exist. I dont like spiders, but Im not going to go around stomping on them because I dont like them. Disliking something is different to discriminating it.

    Homosexuality isnt natural
    Kurtni Reznor:
You know, one of the biggest arguements against anyone who isn't heterosexual is that it's not natural. The word "natural" is derived from "nature". So, can we judge what's natural based on what nature does?

Multiple animals exhibit homosexual, bisexual and asexual behavior. It isn't just one type of animal; it is all kinds from every end of the spectrum. Now, humans and other animals are obviously seperated in certain ways based on our development, but humans are still animals. How can homosexuality be judged to be unnatural when it's such a large part of nature. If homosexuality is percieved as being wrong by certain religions, why would god have created animals that show the same behavior? Well, if it is unnatural, we can all look on the brightside and know that there will be a zoo in hell... it might be too hot for the penguins though.

Some species don't even have males for them to reproduce with in the first place. The Amazon molly is a species of fish that reproduces by the process of gynogenesis, which means that no genetic material from a male is used during the development of her eggs. Her offspring will be identical clones of her.

Pygmy Chimpanzees do all kinds of crazy sexual things other animals don't do( they do some kinky stuff with trees O_O), and bisexuality is a part of the their everyday life. Males show homosexual behavior all the time, it's how they successfully can work together in groups and exist in social groups. Females do the similar things and tend to be more isolated from the males in their groups because of the social bond they form when engaging in sexual behavior. These chimps are some of the most human like on the planet. They communicate with vocalizations, have simlar facial expressions and identical hand gestures to humans.

    pwned. ._.

It sometimes really doesn't seem as though animals have any other sexuality than heterosexal. I never really thought of it until I saw a male cat I used to have doing 'rude and sexual' things to my new kitten/cat, whose also male.

That seems rather contradictory to me. People should have free speech but not be allowed to speak out against homosexuals?

I think she meant freedom of speech in a way where you don't say it in a belittling/hurting way. A bit confusing, but an example would be "I'm not against homosexuals, but I'm not really one for the things they do in homosexual acts." y/n?

"I disagree with homosexuality; it's against my religion."

    "Kill all the fucking fags"

Those are not the same thing. The first is using free speech, the second is belittling and hurting. One you have the right to say, and the other you don't.

Does this include other things like racism or sexism?
So you're saying it's okay to not like people because they're gay/black/female as long as you don't hurt them?

I know you weren't talking to me, but I'm replying anyways :shifty

Based on my morals, no, that is not ok. I think it's quite ignorant and hateful. But, it would be unfair to base the laws on my morals, wouldn't it? The government doesn't have the right to tell you what you can and cannot like, that would be insane. I have the right to oppose abortion so long as I don't hurt the people who support it. I have the right to oppose immigration (I don't) so long as I don't hurt those who immigrat. If people didn't have the right to not like things, we'd have no freedom at all.

I'd also like to point out the fact that disliking homosexuality is not the same as disliking a homosexual. Homosexuality is a concept or behavior, homosexuals are people. It would be like me saying I dislike Christianity, but that doesn't mean I dislike Chirstians. Disliking concepts and people aren't the same.

Homophobia can have several different connotations to different people, so I was clarifying what was said.

Homophobia (from Greek: ὁμο homo(sexual), "same, equal" + φοβία (phobia), "fear") is a non-clinical term used to describe the fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals. It can also mean hatred, hostility, disapproval of, or prejudice towards homosexuals, or homosexual behavior or cultures.

I know the debate has moved on from what Courtney said before, but I'd like to say that humans do contradict nature when it comes to homosexuality. As a matter of fact, humans are the only species of primate (cuz I'm the primate expert, betch) that are so...conservative about sexual relations. Ever heard of bonobos? They're like chimps, except you can see the pink parts of their lips and they're structured a bit more like humans. Hanyway, bonobos are...compared to humans, they are extremely hypersexual beings. They engage in sexual contact routinely. It increases social bonding. They've been known to engage in mutual masturbation (yes let's all giggle) and both males and femals in homosexual activities. And uh...they use "tools". Someone told me they also have orgies, but I'm not so sure.

So yeah. On the other hand, you come to humans and we're like "SEX?! OH NOES!"

On the religious side of it, I always got the impression that the big man doesn't want you to hate people. Isn't homophobia going against that? "Love thy neighbor" and everything, does it not apply to gays? It should.

I think it's wrong to hate someone just because they are homophobic. But I also think femism is just racism so I have weird morals.
I believe in understanding each other. People are afraid of what they don't know. I think homosexual/bisexual people should show the world how they really are and what they are about, not just bow their heads or worse swear/shout at homophobes. I don't think saying how much you hate homophobes or how wrong -or gay- homophobia is helps at all.
