I'm also pretty happy because in general my Blackhawks have been doing much better than in past years.
However, with like six starters out (including Toews >.< ) and their mile long losing streak (eight games? Nothing like last year but it seems huge) they've been nothing to be proud of lately Dx

i can say though, i've lived in canada all my life and i've only watched 2 whole hockey games - the men's silver medal in the salt lake city Olympics on tv, and the chilliwack chiefs vs. victoria salsa in a stadium.

I've never really understood icing.
Could someone explain it to me?

Icing occurs when a player shoots the puck across at least two red lines, the opposing team's goal line being the last. When icing occurs, a linesman stops play. Play is resumed with a faceoff in the defending zone of the team that committed the infraction.

I think that's allowed now...but I'm not sure. I'm still learning a lot about the sport even though I've been watching it forever.

I live in Chicago, and grew up as a Blackhawks fan. They were doing good this year, were in 2nd for a while. Psssh. I still watch for the fights.
I went to a game last year for the Wolves, and sat up in the front row by the teams. There was a fight right in from of me and the guy next to me kept saying, "Jab his eye out!"

I heard about that.
Poor guy. Nobody deserves to be injured, but its bound to happen.
I mean, this is hockey after all.

Yeah, I don't like him but it sucks when people get injured. A few of my friends got injured a few games ago. But when you go into any sport, especially hockey, you better have a high pain tolerance and get used to hospital food.

Is anyone else shocked that the Leafs won last night by a 2 goal lead? o.o

I forgot his name but his nickname is Trader _____ is the GM. On the news it said that once these players multi-year contract are goooone and in about 3 years, the leafs will be a new team and finally start to win >.<
Finally, a GM with a brain. I mean, 3 years since the lockout and haven't made the playoffs the entire time, stop being so loyal and trade for some new players!
