^ My family and I are still rooting for Germany, too. tehe
Must have been pretty embarrassing for Brasil last night seeing as the first goal was an own goal. But they still won none the less! I'm rooting for Spain tonight and it's already 1-0 to Spain so it's off to a good start! Con

Edit: Wow, that went down hill fast! OMG NO!

I was rooting for Holland. I wanted them to make up for the 2010 final and they more than did so. Mr. Green

My commentators kept bringing up the foul on Alonso four years ago and how that penalty was "justice" for it and I couldn't believe they were trash talking that moment. Are you kidding me? Nigel de Jong's flying karate kick into the chest of Xabi Alonso was my favourite part of the 2010 World Cup. You ask me what I remember from South Africa and I'll tell you the vuvuzela and Nigel de Jong not getting sent off for that Mortal Kombat style finish him kick.

..but then Heitinga got sent off as compensation so…File

I'm just waiting for England to lose tonight now.

Hahaha! XD I have to admit that Holland were absolutely on the ball last night (no pun intended). Robin van Persie's first goal last night was phenomenal! So as much as I wanted Spain to win, I have to give Holland their dues. Spain played pretty poorly last night. I watched some of the Australia & Chile match and Chile won. Which didn't surprise me at the end seeing as they got two goals in the first half within 2 minutes of each other.

    Oh god, same! tehe

I didn't even want to watch the World Cup but then Germany did so well against Portugal. In Love

I'm not even worrying about Spain or anyone else, I think our biggest problem will be Brazil.

SO right now I'm watching their match and rooting for Mexico, I want Brazil out of our way ASAP Shifty

Edit: Mexico did an awesome job!

I ugly sobbed when our goalie blocked so many possible goals. I cracked up at the reaction after the game. If my ava doesn't say anything, then I don't know what will. lmfao

Anyone else shocked as hell at Spain being out of the World Cup? Like...in my eyes they're the best team--besides Brazil--and for them to have lost two games? It's freaking crazy!

I feel like Spain's time was up since they've already won so much. During their last match, the line up was changed, but that didn't even do anything for them. Maybe it's time for some players to retire.

I'm so hyped on Mexico right now. They did an amazing job against Brasil. Memo needs to keep it up!

Also, I'm hoping for Portugal to really give it their all in their last two matches, so they can hopefully qualify.

Ugh I am so sad to see Mexico leave the World Cup, they totally deserved that win! They were doing so good and then the Netherlands happened. Facepalm they tried their best and they put in more effort during yesterday's game. I'm really proud of my team.

Did Germany play San Marino instead of Brazil today? Shifty

That's just shocking. I mean, the records they broke today are fantastic. I'm so happy for Miroslav Klose and proud of him. He's such a humble and honest guy that I can't understand the comments that he doesn't deserve it. It was just unreal though. I thought for sure it would be an intense fight to the death here from both sides and sadly it's like Brazil didn't show up. They were so unorganised. I'm glad Germany didn't lose another semi-final, but I guess I would've rather had a tough match than this. You never want to see your opponent give up, which is what it felt like at points.

Brazil played without two players who held the whole team together, that's why they were all over the place today.
I'm a bit sorry for them because 7-1 is sort of humiliating, but the main thing is GERMANY WON! Dance Dance

I think I even messed up my left foot celebrating so many goals, dad and I were jumping around like crazy in our living room tehe

Speaking of soccer. We finally have a Swedish team in Champion's League! This is the first Swedish team in Champion's League in 14 years and it happens to be the team I'm cheering for. So, yeah, proud.

I like that the Champions League isn't all the usual teams this year. There's a good mix. Like Ludogorets. I don't remember the last time a Bulgarian team was in the group stage. And it's been a few years since a Belgian side has made it passed the qualifying rounds. It will be interesting when Arsenal plays Anderlecht next month.
In other news, Euro qualifying starts tomorrow and I am so freaking excited!! Crazy

Double posting because I can. Coffee

So qualifiers for Euro 2016 started today and I just want to talk about it because Poland beat Gibraltar 7-0, which means +7 goal difference, which means TOP OF THE GROUP!! Crazy

I know it's only been one match and in all likelihood it's going downhill from here because we will lose against Germany and Gibraltar in comparison isn't as strong of a team, but I just want to have my moment that my national team didn't suck today. Snob

I don't like watching soccer on TV or in real life but I love to play. I was never on a real team or anything but it was always my favourite sport in P.E. despite the fact that I'm not very good. Every winning goal I scored was a fluke tehe

I am reviving this thread only to get excited that the Scottish women's team made the World Cup and I am so excited because we literally never qualify for anything and now we've qualified for the Euros and the WC in quick succession and I am so proud of our women. Not so much the men (for whom there are calls to just replace the whole men's team with the women's team lmfao) but for our women, who clearly know what they're doing. I doubt we'll win, but I'm keeping a little bit of me hopeful that we might!

Also sidenote I was very sceptical of the appointment of Niko Kovac as the new Bayern manager but I'm slowly warming to him, and he seems to be doing well just now. As long as he doesn't do an Ancelotti, I will be happy. I miss Pep.

Double posting bc why not. I've heard rumours of discontent in the Bayern squad with Kovac and I'm so sad because I want him to succeed so desperately because he's precious but with the latest form and the draw against Ajax and the way he just isn't playing the players he should be playing, I'm not too sure that he's going to. I hope this isn't another Ancelotti again, I really hope it isn't. My heart can't take another terrible season. No
