^ Johnny Weir is so cute. tehe

I can't even ice skate, but I've been watching figure skating and ice dancing like crazy on the Olympics. It's gorgeous to watch, I wish I could do it. I was so excited when Evan Lysacek won gold! Wow

Skinny people, the outfits, the music, the movement, the ice... Heaven.

Laura Lepistö and Kiira Korpi are what makes me feel proud atm, although they didn't win actual medals from the Olympics. They are great and talented.

Well, I can't skate to save my life but I have always loved figure skating ever since I was wee little child. I always loved watching the smooth grace the every skater possesses. my ultimate favorite skater was, is, and always will be Michelle Kwan. she always had this air about here. I always loved watching her skate. A couple more favorites are Johnny Weir, he is adorable and has such a unique style. and of course, Evan Lysacek. Too bad we don't get to see any of the above at the Olympics this year. :(

I'm a figure skater and the feeling is truly amazing. The ice under your blades, landing your first axel or your first double jump. I can't imagine my life without skating. I'm currently practicing my triple salchow! My dream is to bring home a medal from the olympics (in pairs i hope, but singles will do too!) My favorite skater is Joannie Rochette (even if she doesnt compete anymore..)

Is this thread still warm?? Why don't we rewarm it for this month's Forum Frenzy ? I will start!!

Hey guys!! I've been on the ice since I was six years old, AGES ago...(sheesh, time flies!!) I've done synchro, ice dance, pairs and singles... but my love is definitely freestyle; I think it's the challenge that I absolutely am addicted to. I also love doing "trick moves", like the hydroblade, inverted sit spin, inverted spirals, etc.

As of right now, I have "retired" from the competitive circuit for a multiple reasons, and to be fully honest, I haven't been all too competitive for a few years. Now all I mostly do is coach little kids in Basic Skills, which is some of the funnest times on the ice! (seriously, some of the kids are just tooo cute!!!)
But I'm kinda missing the life of pushing myself and so I am in the process of getting back into shape!!

    @ amanda.o123
It's really addicting, isn't it??? You seem very driven; keep up the hard work!! Very Happy
Even though I didn't get to take the ice on an Olympic stage, I have an old friend that just came back from Sochi. She and I used to practice together at one of the local rinks. She brought home the bronze she got with the team event, and anyone can see it's a life-changing experience. She's got a new partner now, so I'm hoping to see her back in the competitive circuit soon enough!

    @ reckless-lullabies
I miss seeing all the allstars of the skating world; it's almost strange to see the competition without them in it. Though I totally enjoyed watching Hanyu Yuzuru...seriously, that boy makes that quad look like it is nothing. I'm somewhat jealous with his ability. And Jeffrey Buttle did an amazing job on his short program.

I can skate around the ice rink but thats about it. I watch the other girls there practicing in their free time and it blows my mind how they can do that kind of stuff.
