Fencing

Any fencers out there? Yeah? No?
(That's the sport where they use blades/swords, just in case you didn't know)
I've been doing it for 3 years; it's a lot of fun.
It's a kind of "physical chess game" as they say

Yeah, i started a couple of years ago, didn't do it for a while, and now i've started again.

I'm not a sporty person, but i absolutely love it. It's so fun. (as a lot of sports vaguely based on killing your opponent, but with pleasantries and rules added over the years, are.)

I've just started it this year and I...love it.

Yay! Three person crowd!

We can so whup the asses of all the other sporting crowds on mibba, what with our foils and our spaceman gear.

Even the wrestling crowd, because they don't even wrestle :grmml:

Make that four person I also fence. I use foil and epee but I love the epee more. I have been doing this for five years!

My coach always tells me I can switch but I'm not sure; I have a feeling that it'd be a little weird =/
Plus I love foil fencing anyway :D

Thats actually one sport I havent tried, but if I get the get the chance I would really like to.

Me too. I was terrible at epee, and sabre messed up my foilness. So I'm just foil.

I'm foil squad captain this year. SO HAPPY.

Oh, I'll probably be captain senior year. I'm only a sophomore.

Oh cool. Yeah, I was always worried who they'd pick for captains, because there are two other girls my age, but I got picked. And then we have an epee and sabre captain as well for a total of 3.

Our team did awesome last year (county champs) but this year I'm a little nervous, especially because I'm actually not the greatest hahaha.

So were we! This girl that we have on our foil team, she beat the olympic gold medalist in some championship in Poland. We all know that she's going to end up at the olympics.

I think it's a really awesome sport, but there's no where around me where I could join. I would totally join if I could. It sounds like a lot of fun. It looks like a lot of fun.

Hmm, I've never given much thought about naming my blade, which is weird because I name just about everything else from my car to my guitar hahaha.

Ugh. (mad because I don't fence.) I want to so badly, but I've searched and searched, and there's nowhere within 100 miles of where I live. *exaggeration, but it's still quite a ways off*

^ I'm in the same situation.

I started fencing last year and have since fallen in love with it. I've been taking classes at my university for Saber, Foil, and Epee, but I'd say I like Saber the most. I really need to get my own weapons so I can practice outside of school, though!
