I write a mix of both, but more recently I've begun to experiment more with second person, and I really enjoy writing in it.

In my latest story, I use a mixture of both first and second person, which I really enjoyed trying out.

Right now, I'm totally digging limited third person. I still write in first of course, but I'm starting to like limited third a LOT.

I love reading in first person and third person, but I almost always write in third person limited. Sometimes I write second, and sometimes in first, but I just love the third limited because it's absolutely hnnngworthy. I want to try third omniscient, but it'd be a bit hard in my opinion.

I use to write in first person but I feel like my stories aren't as good that way. Now I tend to write more in third person because I feel like I can say more that way.

Third person limited is my favorite. But I also love second. Second only works in certain stories, though, in my opinion.

I have one story where I switch between third and second.

I’ve been the same way a lot lately. I have a couple of second person stories that went pretty well. However, I adore third person to its full potential.

For some reason, I only feel comfortable writing bandfics in limited third. I've tried writing one in first and it just felt and sounded all wrong.

I concur, I feel weird writing (and reading) first person RPF. It just doesn't sound right to me, and it kind of makes me a bit uncomfortable, if I'm honest.

But I'm not too fond of first person at all, really. For me, establishing the character voices in first person is so much harder and I feel characters come across better and more naturally in third, at least when I'm writing them. Shifty

I adore writing first person with bandfic & well just any fic. I'm a big supporter of first person. That's because I feel like you get more out of it than with third person limited. I like being inside their head not above their head. It's much easier because they're all different pieces of what's in my head. Also, it makes a nicer mental picture for me. I see stories like movies in my head.

If I do ever use third person, I tend to use third omniscient. I enjoy being the all knowing narrator more. Also, I want to give both sides, especially with a relationship. It feels better to be all knowing. I hope that doesn't sound like conceited. Shifty

I like third person when you get inside their head. I think it's less biased that first person and more interesting.
(Not a personal attack, of course.)

Hmm, I don't get that same feeling when I write third. It's like I just can't seem to crack inside their head. Like in my mind, I see it as I'm either above them or behind them. I'd rather be in them. Third person is pretty interesting, but I find first more interesting.

When I read third, I guess I get that same sense in a way. Once again, it's like I'm above or behind them.

I can understand the bias thing because you're only seeing that one side. I kind of like that bias because when something goes in another direction, you get that same confusion the character has. I'm hoping I'm making sense & not sounding dumb. I just really like first person.

I read so little well-executed first person. Maybe that's the problem. It seems like it's selfish, in a way. I don't know. Like, it can be great writing and all, but it's executed in a way that makes the character seem selfish.

^I've never seen it that way. At least from my experience of writing I try not come off as selfish & if I do that makes me a little worried since it's never crossed my mind before. I aim for more confused characters or quirky characters than selfish.

I think the only time I take note of selfish characters is in first person fics where the lead goes off with such & such band disregarding everything & what's best for them. Yet, I'm not sure.

I can only write in third person and it is super frustrating. Every time I write in first person, I just end up hating it and feeling like it just isn't right. I don't know what it is, but first person and I just do not get along.

With first person I feel like I end up telling instead of showing. I don't like it.

When I write third person, I feel like I'm being too emotionally distant from my characters. I feel like, sometimes when I read third person stories, it comes across as cold and I don't like that.

Though I have read some stories that are brilliantly done well in third person. I admire those people.

I'm the same way! And I'm always way more introspective with my narrator than I should be.

I always write in third person, but I want to try to branch out into first person more and see if I can play with some tones to get it right.

Even when I first started writing, I wrote in third person. I've rarely ventured into using first person, and I just don't like second person at all.

I've done a little of each. I like to test my writing that way. Third person is hardest for me though so I'm always hesitant to write that way.
