Things You Love in Stories

I'm in love with imperfections. =]
Dry humor is better than any knock-knock joke.
Boys who don't get the girl will at least steal my heart.
And who ever loved who has not lost?

I love being there; walking in someone else's shoes.
Laughter is better than tears.
But only the heart can make you cry.
Falling down is just as fine as standing up.
Imagery is nearly as good as real life.

And if only to have my life changed forever. <3

^^They're okay, since some stories are inspired by songs and it influences the story to that extent, but please, don't OVERDO it.

I like real-life humor. It's difficult to find sometimes. I adore writing it and I love reading it. Like, when things are funny just because they are, but not necessarily "laugh-out-loud" humor.

I adore vaguness and strange metaphores.
Also, bloody analogies :shifty

I love a story dripping with sexual tension, where the words are just completely filled with lust and want.

I agree ^^ A story that just delves into sex puts me off.
I'd rather read a story with like, ten chapters of tensions rather than just sex, sex and more sex. >__>

I like stories that care with details. Like, keeping up with the character traits and habits are a thing I admire. People who mention that their characters fave color is blue then go and say 'and oh my god his eyes were the darkest of browns which is like, my fave color in the world' they just annoy me to not extent and pretty much don't impress me; but in general I like details >__>

I don't think I've read more than one or two stories that would fit in those genres on Mibba but I'm growing an offline obsession for them. They are just the thing that got me into writing and reading.

Also stories that are just naked. There the words are just so simple and the plot [a really good plot] moves on really fast.
And good summaries. I probably won't read a story if it doesn't have a summary.

And I'm reading the most amazing ones in Spanish class, but those are by like amazing authors, so I'm not expecting anything like it on here. These people are seriously amazing, though, since they can take plots that sound like total cliché and make fantastic stories. I worship their ...something.

I'm a sucker for really, really elaborate imagery.
Like, extremely vivid metaphors and similes.
I'll be all :cheese: at a story even if it doesn't have a particularly great plot if the style is beautiful and poetic.

I'm a sucker for insanity/mental hospital stories. It's just that kind of sad beauty when someone does it right that attracts me to it, and makes me want to do it right as well.

I love:
-specially made layouts for the story;
-fairly good descriptions of people/places/images
-when light is described, for some reason
-intimacy without erothicism between characters, that's always pretty.

i also love:

- songfics that don't have any lyrics at all in them.
- old fashioned feel; likethe sound of a violin.
- paragraphs that are short and sweet, but packed with perfect descriptions. i think the more is compressed (though with talent) the better.

Friendships and sibling-y stuff.

AU. I die for it.

When the character admits flaws, admits hating oneself for them instead of going "whee i'm so punx i knoes ma grades sux but im punx so idc."

I love when I get so engrossed in the story, I feel like i'm the character. I love it when I can picture everything perfectly. When I feel what the character feels and I get pretty emotional by it.

Characters that "fuck the 'cool act'."

like, are completely nuts and well aware.

When a story is mostly built with infererences and hints of what's happening, and really good description. [As long as it's not overdone.] x]

I like it when there's a lot of detail (as long as it's not overdone or anything). I like it when I read a story and I can imagine the surroundings and setting. I also like it when there's intimacy rather than just plain sex. Sex is good, but intimacy is important as well.
