What's perfect/imperfect?
Pretty much, the imperfect is just combining the past tense with incomplete, continual or habitual actions.
Ex:
I
was swimming....
I
would run....
orI
use to eat....
And the perfect tense is just a mess to get into....
Mostly because there are three different perfect tenses - the present, past, and future. But pretty much, the perfect tense is taking "to have" and putting it with a verb's past form.
Ex:
Present perfect: "The boy
has eaten the candy."
Past perfect: "The boy
had eaten the candy before he ate his dinner."
Future perfect: "The boy
will have eaten the candy by this afternoon."
It's all a big headache and kind of makes me want to bash my head against my computer desk...
