One of my favorite Ryden stories ever has very explicit sex. And not just explicit sexual scenes, but extreme explicit sexual scenes. It's still an absolutely beautiful piece of work.

Also, if you've ever been to Literotica.com, then you'll know the stuff on this site is fucking tame.
dru, what is that story called?

I prefer stories to have sex in them. It's more realistic, you know? I mean, if you're in a relationship with someone, and you're an adult, it's bound to have more than hand holding and butterfly kisses.

Plus, I can be a bit of a pervert at times. :shifty

I prefer it to be kind of skipped over, but I'm asexual.
And I've developed a very good visual blocking filter.
I'd rather it weren't there, but I'm cool with it, as long as it has a plot.

    It doesn't bother me.
I'm not into the graphic scenes, much, and I can't write them. I don't much want to write them, and I know that some of my readers appreciate the non-graphic scenes.
But if it floats other's boats, that's fine with me.
And I'll read it, if it has a plot.

Honestly, I don't mind if a story involves sex, but I think that writing it descriptively is unnecessary in most cases. Actually, I think that most people (on Mibba, at least) write and read it just to get off on it. >.>

But in very few occasions has the actual written description of sex helped the story in any way. But that's just me. I try to retain my innocence. =D

I think if the story is meant to be a 'lemon" or a "erotic story" then I feel that graphic sex that really doesn't add anything is okay. My friend writes a lot of those, and they are just fine.

But if the story is supposed to have a deeper meaner than just fun loving sex, then I think you should caution where and how you use it. Though sex is natural and adults who are in a relationship (or not, I won't judge XD) will have sex, in a story context, just throwing in random sex scenes could cheapen the story IMO. I say this through experience. My original version of Cherry Soda Boy featured two completely random illogically placed sex scenes that pleased my horny fans but not me. In fact, I hated them so much, that in the original version of the story they have been taken out. I usually never put sex scenes in my stories anyway because I find them very hard to write them. My form of a sex scene is just lightly touching on the specifics, without going into gruesome detail. Sometimes I just allude to the sex really vaguely. There have been rare instances where I actually write a sex scene. And when I do....they are epic :file: true story.

"Since sex is, after all, the most special form of human communication, and the technological society is built on expanding communication in much the way capitalism was built on the expansive properties of capital and money, the perspective is toward greater promiscuity."

Why would anyone want to make sex such a capitalist characteristic ? >.< Again sex has always been in stories, we didn't need the modern capitalist man to put it there.
I've recently read Arabic Nights. It' was written in 900 yet it's so ... sexual. And in The Epic of Gilgamesh [the oldest form of written fiction] the two of the characters have sex with each other for 6 days and 7 nights. XD Most of the novellas from The Decameron contain sex. And those are just the examples that come to mind now.
Sex was in fiction and in humans' lives since the beginning culture.

Depends with me really. I'm over 18, so I feel I can write sex in my stories and read sex. I enjoy it. As long as it is NC-17 and there is a warning, I don't see it as a problem. At my home message board, due to young people being on the fourm, sex isn't allowed in stories cause there isn't a proper rating system installed like it is here. Just anyone can read it. You have to provide a link elsewhere or just simply edit it out. That's what I like about mibba. You can provide a link. Granted your readers have to sign up, but it prevents just anyone from reading it.

As far as banning it altogether, just skip over it, cause others do enjoy reading and writing it.

Personally I don't see a problem with sex in a story, as long as it's done the right way. Sex is a part of the everyday human life, I mean it's true. There's one beautiful slash story, The Dove Keeper, that has a good amount of explicit sex scenes in it, but the way the author writes it only succeeds in adding to the storyline.

There used to be a website called GDslash, but something happened to it. It was dedicated to Green Day slash. [For the record, slash does not have to include sex. -insert sigh and eyeroll here-]

One of the rules was that if you had sex, it couldn't be "then they had sex three times". Unless, of course, that was the tone of your story.

Did you know that there actually are 3 accepted incests in the Bible? It's not as holy as you'd think.
    Shockingly true.

As quoted from Song of Songs:

How beautiful are your feet in sandals,
    O prince's daughter!
Your rounded thights are like jewels,
    the handiwork of an artist.
Your navel is a round bowl
that should never lack for mixed wine.
Your body is a heap of wheat
    encircled with lilies.
Your breasts are like twin fawns
    the young of a gazelle.
    (7:1-4)

It goes on and on and on...

Or how about in Hosea, where he marries Gomer, the prostitute?

    (Just some examples for you.)
