The Government would only legalize weed here if they could make a profit off it, otherwise they dont really care...

The best weed doesn't grow in America. Same reason we aren't allowed to get prescriptions from Canada.

I haven't done any research regarding this, so correct me if you must, but it seems to me the American climate isn't all that different to the European [Dutch to be more specific] climate, in most parts. I'm not talking about Hawaii.

But anyway, it's not like it's tropical over here, yet we're still doing pretty well in the business [appalling as it is]. All you need is some space, some lamps, some plants and you gotta water it once in a while.

Okay, so I'd hate to potheadify America and everything, but it's pretty easy to grow good weed, so I think once [if ever] they'll legalize it; there will be a fucking huge market of it, I'm sure.

I don't think that it will matter in any way, shape, or form matter if the legalize it or not. People who want to do it are going to do it, and if they legalize it, more people will start, and teens will become addicted quicker. Its like drinking, people drink anyways, but once you hit 21, then you can go all out without getting caught. So either way it doesn't matter...

Weed isn't phyiscally addictive. You can develop a psychological addiction like you could to the internet or pizza...you know what I mean. I know it sounds stupid. But it is impossible to develop a physical dependency like you could for cigarettes or alcohol or other drugs like cocaine or other opiates.

People who do pot are going to do it, regardless of legalization or not. But that shit can seriously fuck you up. It makes you real happy when you're up, and real sad when your down, and a bad trip...it's the worst thing I've ever seen. So I don't know.

From my point of view I wouldn't appreciate it, if they legalize it. Alcohol is also a legal drug and you can see how bad it influences people.
I don't know how it is in other countries, but here, minors (aged 13 and more) are able to buy alcohol so easily and the number of teens who are nearly dying because of the high amount of alcohol, is constantly growing. So if you legalize pot, maybe it would as bad as with alcohol.

I am all for the legalization of Marijuana.

It is less harmful than drugs or alcohol and there have been no reported deaths with the cause being Marijuana.

If they legalized it, then it wouldn't be such a big deal.

And the main reason it is illegal is because it would take out many buisnesses and industries.

Such as the tobacco and alcohol industry, the paper industry (hemp can be used for paper, the declaration of independence is actually written on hemp paper) and many others. And of course drug dealers.

The number one reason it is illegal is because of money.

    Ridiculous.

    Why fucking not?

I mean, alcohol fucks you up and can break apart families, or even kill you. It's also a harm to other people around you, but who cares, right? It's just alcohol.
When peope get durnk, they react a different way. Some are almost completely normal, others go insane and really have no control over the way they act. But that doesn't matter, right? Anyone over the age of 18 (or 21, depending on where you live) can use alcohol, even if you act like a 5 year old while using it.

And smoking! It's killing our environment, and the people in it. Cigarettes are also a harm to other people around us. It kills so many fucking people a day, but who cares? Oh, no one cares. People keep doing it, because it's addicting.

Those are two things that completely screw up your life. None of them are sfe, even if you are responsible. You can't stop yourself from doing something stupid when you're drunk, and you can't stop secondhand smoke when you smoke cigs.

So, why not legalize drugs? Not only pot, but all drugs! If alcohol and cigarettes are legal, and they fuck up your life, why not legalize everything?

Because drugs are a harm to others, as well? So are cigs and alcohol.
Because you can get addicted more easily? You can on cigs and alcohol, too.
Because they're illegal for a reason?

Well, in my opinion, alcohol and ciggs should be illegal too.

This way the world works now is so damn stupid. Why legalize two life-ruiners and not them all?

Whatever. Go ahead, legalize pot. And while you're at it, legalize everything else too.

In reality, it makes no difference.

The only actual reason I can see that it's illegal is that the government can't tax the shit out of it, due to the fact that so many people already grow it at home. I just planted my own plant yesterday.

With cigarettes, half of the ingredients in it isn't even tobacco anymore. We can't make that on our own. Same with alcohol. But they're both legal.

People die from drugs that are legal.
    People die from alcohol.
    People die from cigarettes.

People don't die from marijuana. They die from lacking responsibility. It's your own fault if you smoke then decide that you can slide down a banister and end up falling. [/personal relevance]

    It's a drug.
An illicit addictive and harmful drug.

I think legalising it would be irresponsible.

^ It all has to do with your own personal responsibility.
It's no different from drinking or taking prescription drugs.
Everything is addictive, it just depends on what kind of person you are.

Legalization of maijuana can't be done; in my opinion. I'm not leaning towards the addiction and health side, I'm leaning towards the federal government and taxation side. You can't track marijuana, and if you can, tax the hell out of it. This fucking country needs money right now. We've never been in this much debt for such a long time.

Oh yeah. To add, my father has a health card to get marijuana legally. I think I recall, only California able to do this. I'm kind of old on the update.
He has been smoking marijuana since he was a teenager (though I don't do it). Though it doesn't kill anyone, it still causes some issues for him. The fact that its so hard to give up because it makes him happy, and the tar it brings to his lung.
I mean on the mental section, I think it's horrible if you're going to legalize it. It should only be used legally if you're physically sick.

I'm for the legalization of marijuana. I've been for the legalization since before I even tried it [which I have done once]. I don't think the health effects are serious enough for this drug to be illegal, although I think it should be controlled in much the same way alcohol is. I think it should be legal to smoke it at 21 and you should not be able to drive while under the influence.

    Thoughts?
    Why 21?
