Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C minor is just... wow.
Seriously. Same with his Symphony No. 6 in F. Again, just wow.
Classical music has always been a bit of a passion for me, though unfortunately I know very little about it really.

For me, nothing beats Beethoven's solo piano music. Pathétique Sonata, Sonata #5, Moonlight Sonata (all three movements, not just the one everyone's heard), just amazing.

^ I adore Beethoven's Sonatas. I think they're really underrated scompared to his more "big" music.

My personal favorite songs are "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" by Mozart, "Winter (Four Seasons)"* by Antonio Vivaldi, "Toccata and Fugue" by Bach, "Hallelujah" by George Frideric Händel, and "Fur Elise" by Ludwig van Beethoven. We had to sit through them during music. My favorite artist is most likely Mozart, though.

*Have you ever heard the main violin in that? Holy dear God! Cheese

I'll be playing Rachmaninov's second symphony and Tchaikovsky's Capriccio Italien in my county's youth symphony orchestra soon. I actually can't wait.

^ Cute Agreed. I mean, just listen to Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor. It's amazing.

I love all the eras of classical music for different reasons, but I would have to say Baroque is a firm favourite for me. The classical era tends to annoy me a little, although I do respect it for its own beauty.

Bach is just an epic win for me. Vivaldi's pretty awesome too. I love really old stuff too, renaissance music with all the lovely viols. It's a shame that it's really rare to hear any of the ancient stuff these days, but I guess it's because it's so hard to interpret and read.

I'm more of a romantic person than a baroque person. XD I do like some baroque in moderation, but I'm more attracted to classical/romantic/late romantic music, as it's a lot less predictable, a lot more emotional.

Let's see if I can list all my favorite composers...

    Ludwig Van Beethoven
    John Cage
    Lou Harrison
    Claude Debussy
    Frederic Chopin
    Johannes Brahms
    Sylvain Chauveau
    Johann Johannsson
    Charles Ives
    Hector Berlioz
    Hildegard Von Bingen

Yeah, it's all either Romantic or Modern, with the exception of Hildegard, anyway, but that's what I like. Not really a fan of the Baroque or the Classical period.

I've played the violin since the third grade, so classical music has kind of grown on me. I still listen to screamo and rock music, but classical is... different. In a good way :)

Classical is my life. Especially Chopin and Liszt, and starting to go into Shostakovich. I seem to like more of the romantic and modern music but I like the classical era too. Hah, classical music is one thing I can talk on and on about.

Classical music is definitely one of my favorite genres. It can calm me down, help me focus, and inspire a lot.
I think my favorite composers are Rossini and Vivaldi.

danse macabre by camille saint saens will forever be my favorite (haha, hence my username). i used to think moonlight sonata was the best, but there's nothing that tops danse macabre. classical songs themselves are just emotions, and i think that's something that a lot of music nowadays lacks. i mean, rock is all about emotion, so i'm not judging. but half the crap we hear on the radio is just mindless nonsense (of course there are exceptions) but classical is just purely feeling.

I wouldn't give classical music such a clean slate as to say it doesn't have its fair share of mindless nonsense. XD Of course, it's often down to matter of opinion, but for example, many people have a lot of trouble understanding the music of composers like Cage (e.g.) or Stockhausen (e.g.); it's very easy to see these as nonsensical. And there are certainly pieces that I find mind-numbingly inane, Pachelbel's Canon in D being just one.

    Baroque: Bach, Vivaldi
Classical: Mozart, Beethoven (Moonlight Sonata's beautiful)
    Romantic: Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saens

I think I like the Romantic era most. I love Tchaikovsky and Saint-saens, probably because of Sleeping Beauty<3 and Beauty and the Beast<3.

A lot of Tchaikovsky was used in Sleeping Beauty.

"Aquarium" by Saint-Saens was part of the inspiration in a few of the Beauty and the Beast scored songs, mostly "The West Wing" which is gorgeous in my opinion. My favorite disney score of all time. The other "Carnival of the Animal" selections he did aren't bad either. The Finale was also used at the end of Fantasia 2.

    Gosh I love Tchaikovsky and Saint-Saens...They're great.<3

I also like Choplin and Erik Satie.
