I illegally download songs. Since I downloaded Firefox a few months ago I have downloaded songs to date.
Right now I don't have a job, so I can't afford to download them from iTunes, which is what I used to do.
My point of view is that I'll buy an actual album if I want it. But for just one song, I'm not going to buy an entire album. I'll be broke when Pretty. Odd. comes out, but as soon as I have the money I plan to invest $50+ on the deluxe edition of it.
On that subject, Ryan Ross is quoted in Kerrang as saying about fans illegally downloading the new album: "If that was the only way someone as going to get to hear our music I'd rather them do it that way than not at all."
I also download songs that can't be bought. Demo version, live versions, acoustic covers, etc.
