My boyfriend and his mother are Wiccan, and I used to be, but now am an Atheist. It's sad, that nowadays most 'Witches' are simply interested in the religion because they're just dark teenagers believing it to be 'devils work' and will earn them attention...

i've known several friends who are wiccan, and they've enlightened me from time to time with it. it's one of few religions i considered for myself at one point.

regretfully i've also run into quite a few folks who do think it's all dark, or use it that way, and that does not appeal to me.

I'm Pagan, but I have read a little on Wiccan.

I think it's sad when people use it for darkness or whatnot. If they're in it for power, it's not Wicca that they're looking for, it's Satanism. Two completely different religeons. I wish people would figure things out in their religeous views before trying.

My friend was a practicing Wiccan in Middle School, I don't know if she still is or not, and she brought books with her to school to show me. I was completely fascinated with all of it and she explained so much to me. I can't recall any of it only because it's been awhile but the religion interested me ever since. I do remember she wanted me to join her as a wiccan (her exact words) but all I told her was maybe. In truth I was afraid because I wasn't sure what I was getting into just reading about everything in those books and listening to her.

^ There's a Fact Finder thread in the Tips subforum you could ask this in. I'm sure someone out there could help you. Reading through this thread could also help a little if you're that ambitious.

I was raised Wiccan but my dad put a stop to that when he came back around. Then my mom converted to Judaism. I practiced alone for a while but drifted back. Now I have my own set of beliefs and practices, some of which come from Wicca.

I am a Wiccan. I was raised in a strict catholic family and have to hide this from my nan. She's convinced that it's the devils work and would have no problem protesting against this kind of stuff.

It's more or less one of those things I have to hide. Even sadder is that there are no wiccans or pagans in my local community.

Ah well we have to deal with what we have got :)

I know what you mean I hide it only because my parents don't understand it or have respect for it as a religion. The idea of it also makes them feel uncomfortable. They wouldn't be strictly against me if I came out but they wouldn't take me seriously either and would defiantly try to make me stop.

I think one day in the future when I have my own house they will slowly come to the realization of it.

For those of you who may be confused:
Pagan is to Wiccan as Christian is to Catholic. Wicca is a denomination of Paganism. There are many denominations of it. This is, of course, if you go by the definition of Paganism. If you are non-denom, you are usually eclectic.

My source? I am a legally ordained minister/clergy(wo)man in the United States as of today and have studied Paganism thoroughly for a while to be legally and spiritually qualified to be a High Priestess if desired. When I say Paganism, I mean many aspects of most denominations of Paganism. If you don't believe me, my proof is in the mail and one I receive it you can find it in my pictures.

And yes, WTFMusicPerson, I am eclectic and proud.

I am soon to open a site that will serve as an online temple. If you are interested in becoming a member, PM me. =)

I've been a Wiccan for not long, about a year or so. I find it to be a beautiful religion, I've always believe in mother earth and magic. It's just so pure, I can't really explain it.

i am wiccan. i used to be chirstian but then i realized how hypocritical it all was. i mean, why on earth would someone who knows everyone create someone who he knows will betray him and hurt his other creations? why, if God is all powerful, cant he just strike Satan down right now and end all of it? It just doesnt make sense! (there is more of it..this is just an example) I turned to wicca because wicca is so peaceful and the beliefs match what i believe. I was fascinated by it. When i decided to convert, everything fell into place. I mean no disrespect and i do not mean to insult any christians. this is just my opinion and my belief. I can respect that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs so please return the favor. :)

I am a Wiccan, I am that way because I am a hippie sorta. I cherish the Earth and think it should be protected. I have been that way since I was in middle school. I was a Christian and most of my family still believes I am. They are too closed minded to think that being a Wiccan isn't a bad thing.

I'm Wiccan and I've only told my mom and a few of my closest friends. They were all pretty cool with it, thank goodness, but I still keep it secret from some of my other friends. I absolutely love Wicca. It's beautiful, it's pure, and I love the equality. It's not like some religions I've been exposed to that think the man is dominant and I think that's amazing.
I don't like that it's so misunderstood. I would love to be able to say I'm Wiccan without anyone judging me or losing people in my life.

I am a Wiccan but have not yet gotten to the point where its part of my every moment. I'm really trying to become a better person and Wicca has definitely helped me become that. Wicca, the Goddess and the God have become this beautiful balance in my life that is increasingly helps me with my own self doubt and self-loathing. i'm working on myself before I become more tied and linked with Wicca. I guess you could say I'm not an every day practitioner but I try my best. Being in high school and having a part time job of course breaks into my time. I'm also practice Yoga which has started to liberate my body as Wicca has begun to liberate my spirit and soul. I'm hoping to meet someone who I can talk to about writing, reading, life, wicca, yoga, anything really. I'm here to help anyone who has questions or just needs someone to talk to. Wicca is beautiful just as Yoga is. I'm beautiful. You're beautiful. We're all beautiful. :)

I'm Wiccan because I believe in good karma and bad karma. Remember, with Wicca, cast a bad spell on someone and it comes back to you 3x.

My roommate's mom was Wiccan and she made some guy's dick fall off, which I find hilarious.
