I know I sound really stupid, but I wanted to try out Wicca because of the sence that it has somethign to do with nature the thing is i am scared because of other people experiences and because I am a catholic. So what I have been taught is that religion can't be mixed so... I don't know. I just let it go.

In my house we have many religions. My father is Jewish, my mother was raised Catholic but [sort-of] converted to Paganism. We celebrate all three. Except Paganism is more of me and my mother. [I'm not fully any religion, I expect everything as long as it doesn't hurt anybody.]

My mom goes to variations of Wicca-Pagan stuff. As it said in the description on Wikkipedia, it's a very earthy religion. Mostly actually it's a hippy religion. Which is why it's find of funny seeing 'Gothic' kids running around saying 'Grr! I'm Wiccian! I'm going to put a spell on you!

If you're going to be a true "real" Wiccan/Pagan, I suggest reading up on the religion. [Hell, do that with any religion.]

As for me, I believe strongly in the 'Be whatever the hell you want to be' just as long as you're not hurting anybody/doing anything bad.

Just please, I beg you, if any of you think about converting to Wiccan/Paganism, please please please actually research it...

I'm Wiccan! It's so nice to hear from people who actually know what it is. I get a lot of crap for it in my town because they're all really conservative Catholics. There's not a lot of Wiccans where I am, besides a couple of my friends.

To answer your question some people get seriously hurt, some go insane and get all freaky, and other screw themselves up. You have to be able to trust your self and understand that its not a game.

I can truthfully say that from seeing people I know who also follow the Wiccan religion with me, that you must be very careful what you do because if you do something wrong you might get hurt.

The moment I read about Wicca, I loved it
I may say, I am a tree-hugger and my boyfriend, for an English research paper took up the subject.
He printed out some info in Wicca and I read it.
In my opinion, it’s a religion that has nothing to do with black magic.
I hate that people assume that its something bad.
Maybe me and my boyfriend might convert to Wicca. :]

There is NO black magic used in Wicca at all.

It's just something closed minded people who don't like things that are defferent say to scare people off from it.

It's an earth-bound religion, and who want's harm done to the earth?

Wicca and paganism are the only religions that have ever really appealed to me in any way, because they're about cycles, rebirth, all that stuff, and that makes sense to me. I don't plan on looking into it quite yet though - I need to find myself properly first, if that makes any sense. And I need to do it, like, by myself.

    One day, though. Definitely.

When you say people get hurt. . . is that from a spell or summoning gone wrong?
If you want PM me because I really want to know if I'm getting into anything freaky. GAH. I need to research way more!

I am a Wiccan. I really enjoy the religion. It was hard at first explaining it to my family, but they now accept it. They realize its a nature-based religion that's geared towards inward balance and healing, not casting spells on other people to manipulate them. It''s not about power to affect others, for me its about power to affect myself and my situation/outlook/etc.

I used to be Wiccan... I had a book with all the stuff in i, like how to initiate yourself into the relgion, all of the holidays, and spells, herbs, etc.

I kind of had a bad experience, kinda freaky. I left my circle open, and I think something evil got my power. Three bad things happened to me, which I find ironic, because of the whole "threefold karma" thing. I tried to do a stupid love spell and it just backfired.

I didn't mess with it after that, generally because I don't know what I did to leave my circle open. I'm pretty sure I was mentally and emotionally healthy, so I dunno.

In Wicca, you need to be healthy, and a good person. If you do something wrong or "bad" then it comes back threefold, also known as karma. I'm not big on the whole karma idea, but I do believe in it somewhat. I think things happen with a mixture of fate, karma, and hard work.

Yeah, so that was an aimlessly long ramble. :shifty

    I bought a lot of books. I eventually found I'd developed a mini-library. I love my books.

I've never found any good web sites, though. I dont know, I'm very picky about my information, I don't think I'd want a beginner to start learning from a web site.

I don't quite understand. Can someone who is a wiccan please explain it more?
Wiki can be changed and I want to get the truth.

I don't plan on converting though, I'm a proud Catholic. I am just very curious and I wish to know more.

    Please and thank you!
