I find a lot of it very creepy, but I think the underlying principles in white magic are sound. About not harming anybody including yourself, and doing good to other people.

Creepy? Do you mean the karma effects of things?

It's not creepy. I have been wiccan for two years even though my oarents aren't and I love it. I know it's not for everyone but don't hate on it. <3

They did say they respected the basics of it. That counts for something.
No religion is for everyone, if it was this world would be rather beige...

"to each their own" is what I say about religions. I personally am Wiccan and have been for a few years. This is ONE of the most misunderstood religions. Some people referred to it as being "creepy" and talked about magic. You can be Wiccan without using witchcraft (magic). They do go hand in hand, keep in mind, but there are many who don't use magic and still harbor the same beliefs of what Wicca is about. And the whole "black magic" is referring to Witchcraft, not Wicca. These are two different things. Nothing about Wicca is 'creepy' or 'bad'. Wicca is a very positive way of life, nothing negative or evil. When you dabble into the black magic, is when you're crossing from Wicca to Witchcraft. It's a difficult topic to explain, but read up on it.

A few years ago I found a book on wicca in our spare bedroom, since then it's kinda just been hanging out in my book shelf. I've read a little bit of it but not much, I was thinking of reading some more about it though, I just recently looked at it before I saw this topic haha. But yeah one of my friends used to be into wicca, I'm not sure if she still is, but I've always been interested in it.

    I respect all religions
There was recently an article in the local paper about a Wiccan women who accidently stabbed her foot while performing some ritual.
I laughed. And then I felt bad. And then I laughed again.

I'm a Wiccan, but I don't follow my religion insanely. I'm not a hardcore Wiccan, but I practice what is needed. Esbats and Sabbasts...

I've been interested about Wicca quite a while now. I'm a girl who likes nature so I tend to agree with some of their beliefs already, but I'm not gunna convert from Christianity/possible Atheism anytime soon.

Hi there, I'm doing a project on Wicca for school and was wondering if anyone could tell me some common mistakes made by people about it? Like, that it's a devil worshiping religion, etc. And if you could link me to some sources, that'd be great.

Also, is anyone here a Wiccan from New Zealand? If there is, if you're up for an interview, it'd be a lot of help.

I hope I'm allowed to ask this here. :shifty

Google would be your friend at this, the most common one is that people believe Wiccan's worship the devil. Some Wiccan's don't even believe in the devil, and that everything that is bad is karma playing it's role of good/bad.
Also Wiccan's don't all go parading about in the nude, some coven's do that, some people do that, but it's a personal choice.

I would give you some links, but at the moment, but computer is acting really funny on me....

I've been reading up on Wicca. I'm in one of the awkward stages of being Atheist. I belive in Wicca more than any religioun i've seen but I'm not sure if i'm ready for it. I guess I just need some words from some one that is Wicca to tell me about it for me to really think about going over to Wicca.

they don't understand it at all; they think it's all sterotypical witches, like cauldrons and black cats and brooms. whenever i try to explain it, they just laugh and say i'm wrong. how can i get them to listen??

I would never consider myself Wiccan or Pagan, simply because I haven't learned nearly enough about it to make that commitment yet. I first discovered it when I was thirteen (3 years ago), and since then I have bought a couple books, tried a couple things, been to a few supplies stores, and just gotten a feel. Right now I mostly consider myself Agnostic, but I really haven't had that much time to figure it out. However, I can say that out of all other religions I've come into contact with, Wicca/Paganism makes the most sense to me. I believe in reincarnation, in worshipping the Earth for all she has given us, and I believe in karma. Severely. I also believe that there's "something" out there. I'm not quite sure what, but I think it's something big. Not just a sole god, and maybe not even gods in the plural sense. I think it's something that envelopes everything, good and bad. Something that balances everything out. Once I'm out on my own and my life's more together, I'll probably check into Wicca for the long-run. But for now I'm just exploring, trying to get a better feel of what I can offer the world.

What do you think is creepy about being skyclad? I, personally, think it has wonderful symbolism behind it when used in ritual. Hah, plus it helps to keep clothing from catching on flames. xD

On a side note, I wouldn't really consider myself a witch at the moment. I've merely been working on studying and digging into my spiritual side. It's a little hard for me to stay concrete with all of my school related junk getting in the way. :P But, I'm working hard at keeping at it.

If anybody wants to know some information about Wicca feel free to ask me anything. I'm open to any kind of question- I'm not easily offended, so don't worry about that. Don't be nervous, I don't bite! :D

I'm not Wiccan or Pagan, but a lot of my beliefs coincide with those religions. I'm rather interested in them, and have been studying them. I have tried several things, but nothing ever happened. I've had psychic experiences, but nothing too big.
