Make friends yo! I find that if you send a message to the people who left you comments telling them your stories up, they'll get to it faster.

And also, check out the "Stories you wanna see" thread. Thee's some good ideas in there.

Link in the sig, I guess.
That's what I do when I'm desperate for more readers :tehe:
Put it in the pimping and reccing thread.
There are quite a few threads you can also put the link on. I guess that would help.

I always had a link in my sig. I'm working on a theme that'll be relevant to something I'm working on. :cute:

I have a link in my sig to whatever I've recently posted, or whatever one of my stories fits in with my theme.

I also make sure to thank readers who comment with more words than "That was good, update!" I've posted a couple of oneshots over on LJ communities and because I thanked the people who commented, one of them invited me to another community to post some of my stuff there.

Stalk people in the Story Finders thread. Who knows, your story might be the one they're looking for. :)

Like everyone else said, I just whore it; or… just check here and update the current threads I reside in. Then I’ll go to the Off-Topic thread, find ‘Rate that Story’ and ‘Story/Review Game’ and pimp my story there as well :tehe:.

I found, that if you write about a band/famouse person that people like, you get more readers!
I write about Taking Back Sunday, James Dewees and Brian Schechter
It's the reason I hardly ever get comments anymore.

    I don't know if that's true.
I've been writing Ryden since the summer of 2007 and I get less comments now than I did before.

I used to write Gerard Way love stories and get loads of comments but I changed my writting, got rid of them and started writting about people I really care about and now hardly get any comments. My best friend Shanzy [who has Mibba] told me she only reads the MCR focaused ones because not many people are intrested in TBS, James Dewees or Schechter .

I mean, I agree as a whole that it's true.
The more people that like a band, the more people will read a story.
But it's not all about the band.
Because, like I said, I've been writing about the same band for over a year and my comments are dwindling as well.

I've been told, reccomended to read her stuff too. :shifty Dru's an amazing author. In Love

Yeah, but just having a nice layout, title and summary is a good way to lure in new readers. Good grammar etc works too. :XD

I only get any comments when I tell my friends that I've written a story.
It could be because I suck, or it may be because of the fandom I write in.

    Shameless pimping.
Hinting on confessins that your new story isn't getting any readers.
Writing about a popular band helps... sometimes.

I find that a little bit annoying, to be honest.
I used to comment all the stories I read, every chapter, and I started getting messages from a few people when their new chapters were up and something like "can't wait for your feedback." and that really got to me, because like, what if I didn't want to comment that particular time?
I basically only comment these days if I really lovelovelove what I'm reading and that sounds mean.

I have troubles whoring my stories out (I believe that isn't the best word to use).
Maybe because there's my inferiority problem going on about still being a n00b, who was never really good in writing at all.
The best I do is post about it in the Pimp/Recc thread. And if I'm extremely bored, I go to the Story Reviews Thread and/or the Rate The Story Game. Most of the time they help a lot. :tehe:

Dru is legadery on Mibba

    New tip!: WRITE SLASH!!!!!!!

[I'm working on a new one between Matt Rubano and Adam Lazzara [Taking Back Sunday] called I'm Both A Patient Boy, Well, And A Jealous Man.]

Slash seems to go down really well so write slash and you might just get a lot more reads and reviews.

    Write fan-fiction.

It's a sad fact, but a true one.

More people read fan-fiction then they do original fiction.

I for one, stick to original fiction. Reading and writing it.

Oh, and slash is good too.
