I used to be skinny as hell, I was like 5'4 and like 95 lbs. I'd give anything to be that weight, I've put on weight over the last two years and now I'm around 102-104 lbs. Yes, I know it's still underweight and there are people who would die to have my body but I still feel like I'm overweight :(

I used to have a pretty big thigh gap and since I have narrow hips, my weight gain tends to go to my upper inner thighs and the gap has reduced, it's barely half an inch wide now. I just want to go down to 95-100 lbs and have my thigh gap back.

Problem is that I'm lazy as hell and I'm used to never exercising and eating junk while I'm still thin so I can barely push myself to exercise and I'm addicted to junk.

I sooo need to lose weight, and I've finally bought some good and healthy foods, and I'm going to take up walking again. It's not going to be easy, but I really, really want to just be healthy.

I'm 5'4 and my weight is 120. I've always been thin, and I own that to eating very healthy and exercising often. I don't think people realize how much happier than can be if they are able to be considered "fit" or "healthy". It really changes everything, and I don't think some people realize how much of an impact it has. Nothing better.

I'm 5'4 and 172 pounds so yea I'm obviously over weight for my weight, gender, and age category and I fucking hate it. I want a gap between my thighs and collarbone and my tummy to not peek over my pants and to fit into a size 5 at least(currently a nine). I'm a vegetarian now in hopes that since I'm cutting meat out I wont gain to many calories but it seems that I just eat more either way. I'm insanely lazy and don't even like moving to another room or couch. I'm starting to fast now.

I'm going to sound like an infomercial but anyways...

A lot of you are still pretty young so it's easier to lose weight now than if you wait longer. When I was in high school I was underweight. I think I was like 135 and 5-10. I was always trying to gain weight and muscle but I was an athlete so I just burned off everything I ate. Then I went to college and didn't play sports anymore. I got a job and didn't even do the rec leagues. I was slowly gaining weight but was still underweight. Well I graduated college almost a year ago and it felt like I finally put on that "freshman 15." I was around 180 which is actually overweight for a male that's 5-10. I was like holy shit. No idea. So I started looking up programs online, which really sucks. I found a book called the 17 day diet. My goal was to lose 15 pounds and be 165 which is right where I need to be. I'm 164 right now.

In summary there are 4 17 day cycles. The first two are obviously the hardest. You give up carbs for like a month in a half. I gave up sugar and I gave up any alcoholic drinks too. You eat a lot of veggies and good meats. The only exercise it recommends is 17 minutes of walking a day. I'm on my 3rd cycle right now. I start cycle 4 in a week. So if you're serious about losing weight I suggest picking up "The 17 Day Diet." It's not a lot of reading and lists all the foods that are okay to eat and not to eat. If you have problems coming up with foods there are a ton of recipes online to find.

Last time I weighed myself was last week and the scale told me I had lost almost 20 pounds since the end of July. I still have a ways to go but that's pretty good. I'm not going to complain.

It's the thighs that are a massive problem for me Sad. I'm not sure if they've got fat or muscle (I think it'd be a mixture of both) as I do workouts on the legs a lot and they're pretty strong.
I know I heard running (and excessive fast long distance walking) helps a lot. Running I can do (and it helps! With just 4-5km a day and eating a little less you can lose up to 0.3-0.5kg a day :3 depending how well you go with it).

But I'd really like to get rid of the few bits of fat on my thighs and make the muscle somewhat smaller - and running will take a while. I like walking, but that takes up so much time and i don't have that time. >.<
I want to get a treadmill for the quick walking.
Would anyone else know any good exercises for that area? Think

Oh and drinking a lot of water helps a lot, especially if you always feel hungry. Eat a bit, then have a cup of tea (i find this fulls me up) or warm water, and just whenever you're hungry. Keep a jug of water and a glass next to the fridge/pantry. Cute

Oh and one myth that needs to be broken!
    Don't starve yourself.
When you starve yourself, and then eat a little, the body immediately converts it into fat in fear of 'not enough' food. And it saves it for later. You actually gain more weight.
Small but regular meals are really good. Have breakfast 7am, morning tea 10am, lunch 12pm, snack 2pm, some meal at 4pm, dinner 5/6pm. After 6pm, try not to eat. Just drink a lot of water and fruits.
I find apples tend to make me feel so full. Like, I'm about to throw up full.

My grandma has told me I've been losing weight a lot lately and she keeps commenting on my obvious lack of boobies nowadays because of it. I weigh 110. I eat irregular meals and I honestly don't care, although I know it's gonna give me problems in the future.

Walking to and from school everyday has actually been helping. At first I've started at a slow, turtle walk, but now I find I can move really fast. So a walk that used to take me 45 minutes to an hour, now only take me 15-20. Work has also helped me lose the pounds, as I'm always on me feet, and if we're caught sitting, a point gets taken from us.

I find that cutting down on food is the hardest, as there is so much. But, what I do, is I eat something small and then watch a horror movie, or a really disgusting movie to make me lose my appetite if I'm still hungry. For example: I'd had a piece of pizza, but I still felt as if I was starving, so I watched a particularly disgusting episode of Tosh.O and that helped me be, well, not hungry. However, I know that isn't a good process and doesn't help much. What I really want, though, is a list of foods to eat and foods not to eat, because I hate questioning what is and isn't really good for me, if that makes sense.

Seriously, though. I want to lose my Santa belly, 'thunder' thighs, flabby arms, and double chin!

First thing's first-don't trust food that says 'Fat Free' (e.g. low fat yoghurt) because when they take the fat out of their products, a lot of the taste disappears. To make these products still taste nice, they add lots of sugar.
Try to eat things that are nutrient heavy-not calorie heavy. By nutrient heavy I mean lots of plant based foods. Fresh foods are the best. Calorie heavy tends to be your more fatty foods like meat, chocolate, milk, etc.
Many people think that meat is necessary because of its protein but actually plant foods provide a more healthier supply of protein.
Don't get me wrong-I'm not saying go vegetarian or vegan or anything haha but those options are the healthier ones. A little bit of meat definitely won't hurt.
Lastly, don't give up meals! If you're trying to skip out on breakfast or lunch or something, your body starts to digest the food that you eat much slower so that you don't become starved when you skip out on meals. This means that when you start to eat, your body will have to digest a lot more than it expects. Instead of digesting the extra food, it stores it as fat.
(Also, just randomly: When you eat chocolate it can knock out your immune system for up to 3 hours leaving you prone to a lot more diseases than usual)

I hope some of this information helps (=

Try to eat healthy foods, and cut out the unhealthy food until one or two days a week. On those two or less days you should eat reasonably unhealthy foods (These are called 'cheat days'.) These, while not exactly healthy, will mean your body will still be used to them and won't go crazy if one of yours friends talk you into eating a bowl of ice cream or something.

Eating too much for dinner is a big no-no. Eat a big breakfast or lunch instead.

Also, when eating, try to eat slowly so all your food has a chance to digest properly.

Exercise for at least half an hour everyday.

Remember, your diet is far more important than your exercise (Unfortunately).

I'm someone who has a hard time staying motivated. And I've always been insecure about about my weight. But never have I been successfull at losing weight. But something that does seem like something that could work for me is the "buddy diet" (though it's not a diet, it's just about living healthy :P). Anyone heard of it? It's when two people who each want to lose weight share what they're eating and the exercise they're doing. So they are constantly telling each other what they are eating and what exercise they are doing. I think it would work perfectly for me because my problem is I don't think, I just eat. So, with diet, I would have to think "Do I really want to have to tell this person I ate a bunch of junk?". It's difficult to explain, haha, but I love the idea. It would make me think before I made decisions and it could help because if the other is telling you they are eating something healthy, it might influence you to eat healthy too, and it could help you feel less lonely about your weight loss. Anyone interested in an e-mail diet buddy? Been looking for someone to join me! :)

I have good control over my weight and am active; I'm trying to go from just being active to being healthy. I want to stop eating so much trash and give my body food that will fuel it and make it strong, not satiate it and wear it down. So I've been dancing, walking, and trying to eat well- with the occasional "shove chips into my mouth" response. XD

I think this is the right thread to post this question...

    Age: 18
    Gender: Female
    Height: 5'4"-ish
Weight: 175-182lbs (it's been awhile since I checked)

I'm curvy and I love my shape but I'm was wondering if any of you guys knew ways to trim fat? I don't have much more to lose until my GW (155-160), and the last of what I need to lose is stubborn jiggle at my arms, belly, and thighs.

    Any pointers?

p.s. any advice on firming my bum (but not losing it) would be much appreciated! (:
