I have been power walking everyday and eating a bit healthier since late August but I've only lost a bit over a pound. I have more muscle yes but my weight is too high for my liking.

I'm constantly trying to lose weight. I want to lose ten pounds. I'm currently at about 118. It's not low enough for me. So I try doing cardio, & what-not to burn off fat & I try to eat only fruits & veggies..
I have this bad obsession of believing I'm fat. I don't like my stomach, or my thighs or hips.. I just want to be in better shape. All my friends say I'm crazy though.

Try not to look at it in terms of pounds. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you may be losing a good amount of fat and gaining a little muscle. If you want to see better results, you've got to mix up your exercises and make more changes in your diet. Get a group fitness pass at your local gym or get a personal trainer, or just buy a workout DVD. I don't know what your current eating habits are, but generally you have to make more than a small change if you want to see results. I've cut out pop (soda) and junk food almost entirely, and only eat them on special occasions and I try to eat well-balanced meals.

I don't know what your body type is, but 118 sounds low for most people. If you're not happy with your image, why not try strength training? Toning your muscles makes a big difference. A good diet is important also. Your body needs all of the essential nutrients like protein, carbs, and fat. If you cut them out, you're only hurting yourself.

I'm 5'4" for my height, so technically for my height, I should be over 120. But when I look at my hips, & thighs, they just look big & I hate it. So I'm constantly trying to lose weight & tone them up, & tone my stomach. I've done some strength training lately, & tried doing cardio (been doing it at least every other day for months now) & it just seems like it never makes a huge difference. I'm trying not to completely cut out everything, but I mostly try sticking to things with protein, & fruits & veggies. But lately, a lot of foods just make me sick to the point where I feel I'll physically throw up if I try to eat.
I know it's only going to hurt myself to not eat properly, which is why I don't want to go that route again. And I have read where eating something slightly with fat, & then exercising a little after that will help in the long run. I'm still just trying to find a way to be comfortable with my body size & weight & I guess part of me just misses the days when I was under 100 pounds & felt really skinny. Everyone says I'm crazy.. But I really think I suffer from BDD. Cause I always see the worse no matter what.

I'm no doctor, but it sounds like you have BDD to me. You should see a doctor or psychiatrist about it because you might be doing a lot of harm to your body without even knowing it.

Story of my life. I didn't start thinking about my weight until recently though. My husbands aunt looked at me and said I was losing too much weight and that my face was so gaunt looking.

I look in the mirror and see the chunky body I've had since the beginning of high school. I wish I had my body from middle school back but I don't want to go back down that road again. Facepalm

@ racethedream I have considered talking to my doctor about it, just to see what they say. But I watched a special about it on MTV's True Life, & basically they'll want me to see a therapist & what-not to discuss it. It's just I have had weight issues for years, since being on anti-depressants, so I used to weigh a lot after those. And then the constant going back & forth, it's caused stretch marks & I just see all that.. Which upsets me.

@ Kazuhiro Saitou I know what you mean. That's how I feel. Everyone is like "Have you lost weight" & I'm just like "I don't feel like I have", cause I just don't see it. My face will look a little thinner, but I'd rather tone up & lose weight from the trouble areas, like my hips, thighs & stomach. Same. When I was in High School, I was so skinny, even though I ate a lot. I just wish I had that power to burn off food like I did back then. It's a tough battle with trying to accept yourself, & those that haven't been in your shoes, don't really understand what you see.

I am trying to lose weight right now, and one thing i've found is it cut stuff you eat completely. Saturday or Sunday is free your day in which you indulge in a small sweet or salty or against-your-diet item.

I really want to lose about a stone, as I seem to have magically gained one over the past year. Didn't even see it happening, but when I look at myself I can see that extra bit of chub. I mean, I was always a little on the chubby side, but now I have more! My problem areas are my tummy, thighs and arms. The arms is more of a toning issue, because I used to be overweight as a young teen and when I lost it I ended up having that kind of, leftover skin. My tummy and thighs could do with losing a few inches.

I was starting an exercise routine, but I haven't done it for the past week and a bit because I've been really busy and stressed. There's just a lot going on. I'm so bad at sticking to things, I can usually do two weeks before I just get distracted with other things. Hopefully once I've moved house next week I'll be able to settle down and get back into the routine.

And I just ate the hugest breakfast ever. Totally not helping myself.

Thing is, because I'm quite small (frame and height) and because I never wear really fitted clothes, and if they do I make sure they're flattering, everyone thinks I'm slim. But then the other day my mum was measuring her waist etc, and then went to do mine, and there was only an inch or so difference between us, and she was really surprised because she thought I was much slimmer than her. It's very strange. People constantly tell me how slim I look. And I'm just like, yeah, I'm good at hiding it.

I've been trying to lose weight since January, but nothing's come off so far. Sad I think the problem is that I'm quite unfit and so am starting small with my jogging, but there are periods where I'm just so busy with uni work that I don't have time to go and I feel like I've lost all my progress.

I'm being quite good with food, though. I will usually eat between 1100-1500 calories per day, but obviously being a student alcohol will add a few on considerably. However, I've cut out most sweet things and processed carbs like white bread and pasta, and I eat a lot of salad, veggies, muesli, fruit and natural yoghurt. I've also been using slim-fast as a meal replacement when I'm at class all day, because it means I'm not spending money on 400-500 calorie sandwiches or pasta from Sainsbury's. XD They don't fill you up completely but it's enough to put you on until it's time for tea.

Not eating won't work either, just so you know. You;ll either die, or when you do eat, gain weight.

What have you tried so far? Not eating can result in drastic consequences in the long run. You may feel "good" about yourself now, but you'll feel like shit after. I've been through and still have an eating disorder, and it's not a walk in the fucking park.

I've tried eating healthier, exercising, diet pills, etc. I run for 2 hours a day, and I have a really strict calorie limit.

When I moved out I gained all of that back. After a couple months I lost all of it again plus a little extra which was pleasing. Right now I'm working on losing more. I haven't been on a scale in a few months though so I don't know my weight. Everyone except my husband still seems to think I'm crazy for doing this. Disgust

What I find I do now to help lose weight is double the exercise I do per day (say if I was going for a bike ride before do the loop twice or go to the gym twice as long) and take half the food off my plate and throw it straight in the bin so I'm not tempted. I've been eating smaller and smaller portions and now my stomach feels full after a sandwich.

I have never been happy with my weight and used to try terribly unhealthy diets all throughout high school that would always fail, but finally about two years ago, I decided to really try to do it the proper, healthy way -- eat healthy and exercise. I started close to 180 pounds and eventually dropped to around 140. I have been fluctuating between 140 and 150 for the past year or so, but I decided I wanted to get on track again and continue losing weight.

It's not easy and it takes so much discipline, which I really don't have, and I mess up a lot, but I try to stay positive and stay on track.

I don't count calories, I just try to stay away from processed foods and stick with fresh vegetables and fruits and lean protein and fiber! Fiber is so important! Keeps you fuller longer and makes you poop! It's a miracle worker!

And I try to go to the gym as often as I can, although I do get so very lazy, but when I do go, I always feel so good afterwards.

It's hard, because I know with me, there is always this expectation that the pounds are just going to fall away just like that, but it's not that easy, you know? Doing it the right way -- the healthy way -- isn't a quick, easy thing. It takes a long time, but it's so worth it. I'm still about 15 pounds away from my ultimate goal weight, but that's 40 pounds closer than I was when I started. And yeah, it's been a long time since I started, and I got lazy in between and gained some back and then had to work that off and blah blah blah, but still. I try to stay positive and proud of my progress.
