I used to help masonic lodges raise money for coats for people who couldn't afford them and then help them wrap them. That was fun.

I love volunteer work it's so rewarding.

I'm done a childcare centre, an adult day care centre, nursing home, op-shop and schools.

I really want to do volunteer work at the St. Kilda Heart Mission.

I've been volunteering at the local animal shelter for about 4 or 5 weeks, maybe even longer.

Anyway, I LOVE it. For me it's an awesome stress reliever, and it just feels good to know that I'm helping out in some small way. I started out volunteering there for the community service hours, but I am totally hooked now. Some of the kittens are quite amusing too, they like batting at my hair whenever I leave it curly.

Even though I'd like to find other ways to volunteer, this is something I'd love to do even after my hours are done for school.

I've been trying to volunteer because I need it for school.

This Friday, I'm volunteering at a nursing home and provide entertainment for them by playing guitar for them. I'm also going to start going to this thing called handicapped bowling, which is exactly what it sounds like: helping the handicapped bowl. And I'm hoping to help for the Race for the Cure later on in the month. Later in in December, the whole Junior class is going to be volunteering and working to help the homeless in the poor parts of Honolulu. I'm also going to look into volunteering at a hospital for women and children later on in the year.
I've been wanting to volunteer at the Humane Society recently, but I haven't found out if I could or not.

For the past couple of years, I haven't been doing much volunteering, so this year, I want to change that and do as much as I can. :D

I used to help out at brownies and a youth club, but they ran out of adults for everything so they had to stop!
I'm trying to find somewhere else that'd take me on because I enjoyed it so much! :cute:

And I really want to volunteer at the hospital to do the radio! I just have to figure out which day I'm free.

I volunteer at the animal shelter and occasionally at the hospital.
It's so much fun and it is also a huge plus on my college resume.

I was just wondering, how many hours you volunteer weekly.
I was thinking of applying for something, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it fit my schedule.

Since 8 hours of community service is required at my school for a grade. I usually do 2 hours every weekend, or so. But if your going to volunteer at an Animal Shelter, you have to go and help out at least once a month.

My cousins, sister and I are planning to volunteer at an orphanage one day.
My cousin said that it's very fun, because you get to tutor them and stuff.

As you get older, for my school,
the more hours of community service you have to do.
But the school arranges the activities.

You mean there are some schools,
in which you have to do it by yourself?

I volunteer at my local Crisis Pregnancy Center. I babysit employees children, and do file work. Hopefully, when I get old enough, I'll be able to either counsel or do reception work. I love it. =]

That would such a worthwhile experience. I envy you, I always work with the elderly since my mum's a nursing home nurse.
I would really want to do it at The Royal Children's Hospital.

I just volunteered to be apart of this music event thing.
I'll get training to sound engineer a live gig and we get to actually put on a gig in my local area and try and make as much money as possible with the budget we're given.
I so hope they choose me to be on the team. There's only 12 places and only 4 of them are as sound engineers.

As well as the animal shelter, I'm going to volunteer at a school for disabled kids.

They needed volunteers, and i have juggled around my other work, so I'll be going there soon :cute:

I intern for a program at a college for Middle Schoolers.
I pretty much sit there and watch them do their thing, but it's rewarding in a strange way.

I've been volunteering in different schools for over a year now - I work with four-to-five year olds mainly. I love it.

I'm probably one of two people in the entire world who can say I volunteer at a chiropractor's office. xD It's my first job/volunteer experience, and I was going to get a receptionist job there for the summer, but I didn't want to completely plunge into getting a job so soon. So I decided to volunteer there twice a week to get the feel of it.

I absolutely love it. I've met so many awesome people there, and it's crazy because it's a freaking CHIROPRACTOR'S office. But the therapists there are SO amazing. Plus, you deal with some pretty crazy people coming in there to have their necks popped and backs adjusted. xD It's really cool though. I'm hoping I can get a job there next summer. :D
