In 4th Year in our school you have to do a week of volunteer work so I worked in a charity shop and with the Meals on Wheels service in the community centre near where I live. It was fun. :)

When I'm older, I really want to do volunteer work in Cambodia, just because I want an excuse to go back there tehe

There's nowhere really where I live where you can do volunteer work involving animals, but there are plenty of nurseries and hospitals and stuff. Which kind of sucks, because I don't like people, I like animals xD

I handed in my information yesterday so I could volenteer at a local pet store. The owner just has to call me. And hopefully this will turn into a full time job.

I volunteer at my local SPCA(animal shelter), I love walking puppies and dogs and brushing the cats there. Occasionally they have adorable bunnies too.

    That's awesome!

I volunteer by speaking on Organ Donation in the Human Interaction (Sex/Life Ed) at my school. I also do random little things to: senior living, camp councilor. The best stuff is when you're doing something that actually makes a difference but it doesn't really feel like you're volunteering... if that makes sense.

I volunteered at a blood drive held at my school. OMGYES
It was so fun. I loved it.

Through out the day I checked student's ID's, signed them in/out, wrote passes for them to go back to class after they donated, gave out shirts to those who did donate, passed out snacks to everyone after they donated. It was awesome.

Also, during lunch time, me and a couple other students who volunteered held signs that said "donate blood" and "save lives" and stuff like that and walked around the entire school and cafeteria and we got a ton of people to donate. My high school alone ended up donating about 500 pints of blood. Con

And I got a nifty shirt that says "COMMIT FOR LIFE". tehe

    Volunteer firefighting counts I assume?

Plus some other random stuff like yardwork, but that's for a class, so it doesn't really count.

I was looking at volunteering at a local Guide/Brownie pack, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time. I'm at college Mon-Fri, I work Mon, Tues & Weds evenings through the week.

I've been volunteering at the independent research studies done by a Social Psychologist at uni for one year and a half now. I'm running research studies regarding multiculturalism and assimilation on Mexican Americans and Mexicans. It's a really fun job to do and I get to learn about my career, which is always a plus, and I have recommendation letters secured under my belt for grad school because I work really closely with Dr. Z and other professors.

    Yes Cool
I volunteer at school every Tuesdays to make benches at the woodshop classroom (free woodshop lessons hoorah!)
I volunteer at this sports centre on Mondays (and maybe I'll start volunteering on weekends too). Basically, if someone wants to rent a soccer ball, or wants to sign in and play, I'll be at the front desk. Eventually, I'll be able to score-keep and stuff.
I volunteer at this article writing place every Friday and Sunday, where we write articles about the community. My slot is making book reviews and I'll probably get the "interesting facts" slot as well.
Every other Thursday, I volunteer at an old people home, where we ask them questions and talk to them, so that we can create a scrapbook about them and connect to them by talking about their pasts.
Lastly, I have a Youth Central account where I basically can apply for any volunteering opportunities that come up (last one was at the zoo, but I passed it up).
Wow, I sound like a volunteer freak now, haha.
