She still believes I should baptise any children I have though, and she, I quote "will do it myself if I have too" (guess who won't be babysitting if I ever have children)
    That reminds me of this

Ha, that's exactly how I imagine it going down lol.

And I don't envy you. It's bad enough my parents wouldn't be happy, but if I ever met a person who I wanted to settle down with, and have children with, I could just imagine how it awkward it would be, especially since christenings here are more a social thing/excuse for partying than religious. It's almost unacceptable not to do it, since we're a predominantly catholic country Sad It's tough trying to keep everybody happy, while sticking to your own beliefs (or lack thereof) at the same time. You just have to stick up for yourself, and don't back down. If you back down once, you'll be expected to back down again. They're your kids, not hers, and she'll have to learn to accept that.

I'm guessing there are some atheists around here, so how did you become an atheists?
I grew up as a catholic, went to a catholic all girls school (it's actually worse then female porn) for two years but although I like some traditions, such as Christmas masses and all that jazz, wear a crucifix, I don't believe in god almighty. I believe in the universe but my childhood and things I saw slapped that belief out of me.

    What about you?
I became a rational thinking. Seeing the bible as nothing more then a book of human mistakes and hate, simply sprinkled with kindness to shadow and masquerade what it really said.

I became an open minded rational thinker who demanded evidence for everything. If it had no logic, I ignored it.

Really, one look at Genesis and would should be an atheist, or not of that religion if you look at it rationally.
