I believe that everyone is first in a beautiful, happy, crime-free place where nothing ever goes wrong. If a person is bad in that life, they come to Earth
If nothing ever goes wrong, how can someone be bad in that life? If everything was correct and proper all the time, then technically nothing would be out of place and everyone would behave.

I'm agnostic. I don't believe in God, but at the same time I can't accept that this universe just came around by accident.
I don't really think I'll make up my mind in life. I do believe in some kind of life after death, so maybe it will be explained then.

I'm agnostic too, obviously really xD
Well I don't believe in a god really, but I don't care about him as well. In contrast to atheism I don't say there is no god, but I take it all as it comes.
Perhaps there will be a proof for a god one day but until then I'll stick to my opinion that this all is a big accident, that we just are because there had been something colliding, building up and being destroyed again.
Though I still want to believe in that there is something that helps us, that created this all and that makes this all worth living.

    Hmm...

I'm pretty sure I'm an atheist. I believe very strongly that there is no higher power. There was the Big Bang and then there was evolution. This is what I believe.

But if I was ever to be presented with proof that God exists, I would gladly take it in both hands, consider it and if it made sense to me, I would believe in God.

But for now, I believe very, very strongly that there is no higher power.

Is this a possibility that I am agnostic? Because I don't see myself that way.

    I identify as agnostic.
I do think that there might be some higher power, but it isn't one that I'd admire or worship.
I just can't believe that everything that we know happened by coincidence, nor can I compliment anyone or anything for what the world looks like today.

    Or... I dunno.

No. Agnostics aren't sure whether or not there is a god. Satanists worship Satan (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong)

Some do, not all. I believe some Satanists worship the self - they believe there is no God, Devil or afterlife, and so we should enjoy ourselves in this one.

Google. I have a lot of patience for answering questions, but this one really calls for Google.

Wouldn't it be simply easier just to say, no they're not the same.

But then I wouldn't have had the chance to point out the wonderful educational tool that is Google, and that would have made me sad!

You can be both an atheist and an agnostic, but self-identify as an agnostic. For more information, visit the debacle that has become the last few pages of the Atheists thread. I'm gonna leave this thread alone...

For a little while I was atheist, or thought I was... it was more of a very misguided rebellion against my father to be honest. But I'm agnostic. I can't honestly look at everything there is and think that someone didn't create it. I've looked at evolution from a logical point of view, and I think there are definite holes in it and since science has yet to accurately explain how we got here with out someone creating us, I can't really say there isn't a god or deity of some kind. But I don't know what it is, and I can't say I believe that that ensures us an afterlife.

I don't agree with everything in the bible, or the entire contents of any religion. There are aspects of Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, etc that I admire, but there are places that I part ways with all of them. I think most religions can be taken as a good metaphor for life and how we should live it. If you look at the virgin Mary from a strictly symbolic point of view, it's actually pretty interesting. The idea that someone pure and loving can produce someone even more pure and loving without giving up their innocence (hence the virginity) is pretty fascinating to me. I don't think the bible or any other religious stories should be taken literally, but I think we can learn from them.

Basically I believe that everyone has their own belief system that fits them. If that's Christianity for you, great. Atheism, Buddhism, whatever, if it works for you then kudos. But sometimes I think people need to find their own individual path, and that's pretty cool too. What it boils down to is who really are as a person and what it comforts or pleases you to think about our origins and how we should live. I don't see the differences in them as wrong vs. right, I see them as different perspectives with a grain of truth in all of them.

So because "science has yet to accurately explain how we got here" that is absolute reason to believe something or someone created us? Believe what you want, but personally I feel science has done way more at explaining the Earth than stories about some creator. Science may have holes in places, but the Bible and stories of God have a lot more holes. In fact, to me the Bible is just one giant, gaping hole that doesn't explain anything at all, it just lays down sets of supposed rules, and tells completely unbelievable stories.

We have come a long way scientifically over time, and there is a lot more evidence for something like evolution than there is for God, or the creation stories.

I think you're a theist. You don't have to be a specific religion in order to believe in a god. If you believe in a god, regardless of what the god is, you're just considered theist.

No, Agnositc people don't deny that there is a god and don't promote that there isn't. Satanists, well, there's several different kinds. LeVeyan Satanists, now even though they're not directly worshiping Satan, they're not agnositc. They're more worshiping themselves than anything. There's also Luciferianism, Palladists and Symbolic Satanism (Modern Satanism). I'm not going to go off and fully explain them, you can search them, but those are the ones that are more or so, directly worshiping Satan.

This is going to sound like a constant phrase now, but I'm Agnostic as well.
I don't believe there is a man named 'god' who is up there deciding who lives, dies, and who is 'good enough' to be accepted into heaven. If God is so great, he'd accept everyone. There wouldn't be a 'judgement day' as all of these Christian people say. I'm tired of my Christian neighbors trying to cram religion down my throat. To be perfectly honest, I couldn't care less about religion. The point is, is that we're here, and we're all going to follow the same cylce as those who lived before us. Death is the final chapter for everyone. No matter what religion you believe in. It's niice that there's a forum like this because I'm tired of all my Christian friends bi*ching at me about not going to church. Once again.. happy to be here.

i've never heard of this, but i gather it's about not worshipping God, but believing the world is no accident.

i don't think i'd join this religion, tbh. i can see where you're coming from though.

It's not a religion. Agnosticism is being unsure of whether or not there is or isn't a god. It's basically middleground between an atheist and a theist (that's what I would call it, but some people tend to disagree).
