I liked how it ended; yeah, it was predictable, but it would've been unsatisfying if it ended in something like Dimitri's death. We'd have to see how Rose moves forward, I think it would've been unsettling and and awful way to end it. True, happy endings are cliché, but that's because they happen a lot and there really wasn't another way to end the books without it leaving a bitter taste in the reader's mouth.

I hated how Adrian got the short end of the stick, as he and Christian Ozera were my favorite characters in the series, though the latter got his piece of the fairytale ending he deserved. That's why I loved Bloodlines, because he got a bigger role and I think he and Sydney were just divine together<3
I hated Sydney in the original books and I thought Bloodlines would be awful because I didn't like her character at all, but I went ahead and read it anyways; it might actually be better than the original series. I think she's more interesting than Rose, even if she's not as badass. Sydney's a go-getter, and she has some Rose qualities. She's what Adrian needs, I'm psyched to see where it goes from Bloodlines.

I hated how it ended. There were too many loose strings. Like, what happened to Sydney (I've already read Bloodlines, but for those who never will, they'll never know), and what about Adrian? I knew from the beginning that Dimitri was the love interest, but Adrian is so much better. No offense, but Dimitri seemed kind of bland to me. Like the male equivalent to Edward Cullen.

The Edward Cullen comment made me chuckle XD.

I personally love Dimitri and don't think he's bland. I love Adrian too but not for Rose. Adrian and Rose are too much alike in my opinion. If Adrian ends up with Sydney I'll be so happy, if not, i'll be throwing my kobo out the window.

Really? You think Sydney and Adrian would make a good pair? I don't sense any chemistry, and neither do my friends. I wish I could see the compatibility of the two like you do, because it'd make Bloodlines more enjpyable for me But honestly..I can't get into it. If Sydney becomes more like Rose maybe the romamnce will make sense.

Adrian also doesn't seem to be as clever as he was in Vampire Academy. It's odd. I think Mead is just focusing on forcing Adrian and Sydney together so much that she forgot to just have fun with him. Idunno...Maybe I'm too picky.

It's the fact that they're different. He allows himself to indulge and enjoy, but she's always in line. She's dependable, he's considerably less so. They balance each other out, but remember, Bloodlines was only the first book. We have to see them grow and develop. Yes, you might not see much chemistry with them now, but give it a book or two and you might see it. Because in Bloodlines, how much character change did you see? Not much. It's the implication that there will be change that keeps us going - or me, at least.

Sydney hardly was around Adrian, if I remember correctly. And when she was, she wasn't exactly all gung-ho about his presence. Naturally, he can't be the exact same around her as he was with Rose, because they're different people. They're not comfortable around each other yet, so of course his witty side is a bit watered down. That's also why you might not be sensing any chemistry; just give it a book or two, and if it's still not happening for you, then you might be onto something.

I know opposites attract and all, but I saw Sydney as someone who would be more compatible with, ah...What was his name? Trey? The one who hates tatoos?

But you have a good point, so I'll stick with it for a while longer.

If you've read the Vampire Academy series and you'd like to add the books to your Mibba booklist, you can do so here:

Vampire Academy, Frostbite, Shadow Kiss, Blood Promise, Spirit Bound, Last Sacrifice

We also need people to submit entries for the Bloodline series. So far we only have an entry for Bloodline, but we still need an entry for The Golden Lily.

Remember you get 5 points for every published book entry you submit, and the description you submit must be written in your own words (not copied from another source). You can submit entries here.

I love this series! I'll be honest, I didn't know what to think of it at first, what with the vampire craze happening at the time I first started reading it, but I fell in love. I actually think I like it more than the House of Night series. Shadow Kiss was what hooked me for good because you see such growth in Rose's character, especially at the end. I just love it so much. In Love
