Your opinions and beliefs on heaven and hell.

Where do you think they are?
    Do you think they're real?
What do you have to do to get there?

Or, if you dont' believe in them, what do you think happens to you when you die?

Personally, I think earth is both. You lead a bad life and sin and all, you get reborn into a really crappy life in your next life, so it's like hell. So you could... I don't know... murder a bunch of people, then get born into extreme poverty, like in Africa or somewhere. You lead a good life, you get a good next life, so it's like heaven.

It's loose and has some flaws, but it's what I believe in at the current time.

I sometimes believe Heaven and Hell are a state of mind rather than a place. The other times I just gave in to Dante's gorgeous Comedia.
I'm excited about death. I don't fear it, I'm rather curious to see how it's truly like.

Why I believe in them? Because I have a certain religion and I believe in God. If you don't then you won't believe in Heaven/Hell.
    Define ''real''.
I think you need to die to get to Heaven/Hell.

It is the idea that appeals most at the current time in my mind. It makes sense to me.

Usually I feel there is nothing. When we die, it's the end.

But my grandpa died last december, so I like to think he's out there again, as some baby about to lead a nice life.

But it probably is, you die, it's the end.

Unless, your religion dictates what happens when you die. So if your christian and believe in heaven and hell, you really will go there. But if you're buddhist, you will get reincarnated. And if you have no religion, you die. End of.

I don't really believe that, that was me just... thinking as I typed...

I like to think there's a place you go when you die. That you're not just...stuck in the ground.
it makes death all the more appealing, honestly. and it makes more sense, because, your soul has to go some place, doesn't it?

I'm not sure if I believe in Heaven or Hell exactly but I do think that there is some sort of afterlife.

If you believe in that soul thing does it mean that there are two parts of us - the physical us and our souls and when we die our souls arise and go somewhere? They keep on living?

Well no kidding, I'm sure its wonderful to think we all go to some paradise when we die.... but just because it sounds nice doesn't make it realistic.

I don't think it makes death more appealing really. I mean it doesn't to me. I'd rather just disappear than have eternal life -whether in Heaven or Hell-. Really, just not existing after death sounds so much easier and peaceful. Heaven and Hell sound dreadfully boring and complicated.

I'm pretty confused as to how there coul be anyone in Hell, given God's supposed unconditional love for all of us.

That's an interesting question. I think it's somewhat similar with the issue of evil in the world.

I think free will would be pretty much pointless without Heaven and Hell, and Heaven and Hell would be pointless without free will. The fact that we get a ''reward'' at the end of the road proves that we did make the choices and that there was some point in making those choices.

Moreover Hell appeared after Adam and Eve were exiled from the garden of Eden. Death and Hell came as a punishment. Parents may love their children unconditionally but if the children do something wrong they will punish them so they're learn from it and never do it again.
But I'm still not clear about it. I think I'll think about it for a while.

I'm not sure if I believe that Heaven and Hell exist, but I like to believe that we go somewhere when we die. I mean, think about the beauty (and tragedy) of this world. There's got to be something else out there, whether it's better or worse.

Or maybe, like others before me have said, we just simply are reborn into a new life.

I don't know what happens, but I hope there's SOMETHING. This can't be it, you know?

Yes before they were exiled, Adam and Eve were supposed to live forever.
    That's what the Bible says.

And few people bother enough to ask themselves why someone would do such a thing. Even fewer bother to look for the answer.
Ignorance is easier to live with.
