    xD

Well, my dad hired this woman who's friends with my grandmother and my dad's store is a auto shop, and she came there so professionally dressed and my brother laughed. He was like; "She thinks we're some kind of industry, doesn't she?"
:tehe: Thing is, dress appropiate for the job. Don't over-do it. And I guess, DO NOT CURSE. xD!

you can wear black, but just make sure that your outfit is simple.
customers shouldn't be distracted by your outfit.
so, like synyster lisa said, blouse/polo shirt, clean CLOSED TOED shoes.
also, don't have your hair in your face the whole time.
put it up in a bun or a pony tail if you think it will be distracting.

Sounds really lame, but- any tips on handshakes?

I'm really scared of shaking people's hands for some unknown reason, I really hate it and it creeps me out, I can't exactly say "Naw, I don't wanna shake your hand, it scares me" because it sounds really stupd.

    So, any ideas?

Just convince yourself it's only for two seconds and then it's done.
Use your left hand as well. You don't want it to be awkward if you use opposite hands.

eye contact plz. trust me, you really need it. and it's a hell lot better than darting your eyes around the room. For dress attire, you should wear something simple, like a polo shirt and jeans.
well that was what I wore for my interview xD

    Be yourself :)
Be out there, but not in an obnoxious way.
You want to show them that your good with people, but you can handle serious situations.

Have quesitons prepared about the job. They interviewer will always finish the interview by asking "Do you have any questions?"
If you decline, saying that you don't, it doesn't show eagerness to learn about the job. So, have a few questions prepared and it'll show initiative :)

^ Yeah... that's not necessarily the way to go. If I joked around I wouldn't have the job I have now. You need to show you are responsible and take interest in doing your job.

I would think of what your could-be boss would expect. Put yourself in his or her shoes and think about who you would want to hire.

Always look at your interviewer's eye directly when speaking, it shows respect..
One of the qualities most jobs look for.

Have your paperwork done and neatly.
Handwriting, most of the time are sloppy for most jobs..
Typing it is much better and it shows you are neat.

    Dress appropriately.
    Don't wear tanktops or mini-skirts..

Speak clearly and loudly for the interviewer to understand.

    Be confident.
    Most employers look for this.

    But importantly, be honest.
Top qualities an employer always looks for.

Any one else get the "Omg I'm gonna die" thoughts runnign round their heads before an interview.

Seriously... I have another one in less than two hours and I'm so nervous. I hate the things. And the smart clothes make me feel so self concious. And I dislike talking to people.

    .... *dies*

I've been reading this forum and it seems like it could help me. :) I have a job interview today and I'm really nervous. My mom's been pressuring me and it's getting me even more nervous.
    I think I've got everything.
Handshake. Dress nicely. Be polite. Be confident and honest. Is there anything else I can do? Is there anything I can do to calm myself down before I walk in?
