I got my rats today, and I love them!
I've named one of them Amadeus (after Mozart, no reason why really) and the otherone is still nameless.

They're way too fat though, the stupid girl who had them before me has been giving them the wrong type of food and not given them enough exercise. I'm gonna work on it though, and give them loads of good food now and not just fat food.

I have a fancy rat named Bella. She's white with caramel colored spots on her back...I've had her since June of this year. She's really clever and hyper most of the time. XD
She's missing atm...I dunno how she got out of her cage and I can't find her. Sad

[EDIT] Found her, she was under the laundry machine.. :/[/EDIT]

I'd love to get a rat but again, like the fish and quinea pigs, my dog and/or cat would make a meal out of them. At least, that's my Dad's argument to the situation.

I have a rat named Bart, and he's adorable. I love him so, so, so much.
And before him, I had one named Peter who used to kiss me.
    I miss him

EDIT: I got him last night. His name is Shaddix, Shady or Shay for short. He's the cuuutest little black and white rat ever. He's still very small. My dog is absolutely terrified of him (fear of small animals that aren't rabbits, lol) but they'll become friends sooner or later... He's pretty happy in Hamtaro's old hidey strawberry.

I have two rats, they're names are Hayden and Brody. :D

They're adorable, hayden is white with ash brown on his face and back, it gradients down to white on his belly. Brody is the same, but instead of ash brown he's light caramel.

    rats are just amazing
I;d wanted one for so long and I finally got one. Then I got two more,
and the new two ganged up on the first one months later and tore her to bits. I was so sad, it's not even funny...

but I still love the ones I have <3
Everyone says the tail is creepy but I love it!

I've been reading through this, and I have a question. My rat, who is almost a year old, has a very scaley tail. Sometimes they flake off as well! Someone mentioned that this is a health problem. Can you please explain to me what is wrong and how it can be fixed?!?!?! Also, people have always told me that having a rat alone will result in an unhappy, aggressive animal. Though, My rat has never had another rat, and he seems perfectly fine. Is it an illusion?

I have two rats. They're both female and only a few months old, born on Thanksgiving :XD!!
I got them from my friend who purchased a pregnant rat from our pet store. I love how different their personalities are.
Runt is really brave and always comes out of hiding first. She really only gets hyper if the other one is really freaking out and she's much more hygenic.
Eva is more timid, unless I'm giving them treats, then she'll do anything. She is constantly hyper and always jumping around. Runt usually ends up cleaning her.
I've had a mouse and several hamsters, I definently like rats more. With the mouse, he had only bit me once, but it drew blood. Same thing with one of my hamsters. Runt bit me last night though and I barely even felt it. Also, she only bit me because I had food for her in my hand.

I've had rats for the passed three years or so. Sadly, I didn't know much about rats when I was younger, but now, I have two. Elk and Moose, they're brothers and like to break free from their cage and run around my room. I love rats. In Love:

My mom says that she won't visit me when I get a house.
