Instead of making a huge OP of every fact of Satanism, I will ask the views and opinions of others who know enough about Satanism to discuss. If you really want to learn everything, visit the website: www.churchofsatan.com

So, thoughts? Opinions? Is there another thread of this which I have not uncovered in the half-hour search?

Oh, also, Satanism is nothing like Wicca or Paganism. Those are completely different.

I was a LaVeyan Satanist for almost a year, than I realized that you didn't really do anything except have a huge as fuck birthday party and become extremely vain. Which is fine with me of course, but it didn't seem like I had an actual religion.

Haha, it seems that way, but there is much, much more. And being vain? It all has to do with your personality.

I looked on the website. Stupidity should be a sin, I wholeheartedly agree. Actually, I'd convert on the basis alone, if it weren't for the fact that I'm British and its pretty much an American thing, isn't it?

It made a lot more sense to me than some other religious ideologies, to give it it's due.

I don't suppose you have to be American. I've never really thought about it. I sincerely doubt that there is a restriction. At least that I am aware of. o_o

I love that stupidity is a sin.

I wonder if, as a Catholic, I would be in trouble by considering converting to this... Shifty
    Stupidity as a sin? Lovely.

I'm a catholic, and when I discovered that religion a while ago I completely fell in love with it.
It's so logical, and makes a hell of a lot of sense.

    But I could never convert.
Just because it doesn't sit right with my personality.
I think Christianity... well, some of it... is it better [for me personally, definitely not for everyone.]

Although, any time someone comes to me complaining about religion, I'm just like 'check out satanism, it's great'.

I totally agree with you. The religion is logical and interesting but I can't let go of my Catholic religion. I am so used to it already I would be a bit mixed up if I switched.

This is very logical, and I agree with a bunch of their ideals.

It's pretty much the other side of the coin to Christianity. Stupidity is a sin.... I'm fecked.

No, it's not. It's nothing like Christianity, or the "opposite" of Christianity. It's a totally different set of beliefs. What Satanists regard as Satan is not the same Satan in Christianity.

    ^Exactly.

And I must say I'd love stupidity to be a sin in Baptist churches. The thought aloe makes me shudder with happiness.

This actually seems very interesting and I agree with A LOT of the beliefs, but there's just something about it that turns me off.

    haha
I've been saying stupidity is a sin for years.
One more remark from my uber Catholic family (Mother's side) and I might just bitch at them about that.

Uh, I would never be a satanist, but the beliefs are quite interesting. I just hate when people confuse the pentagram with an inverted pentagram.

    Pentagram: Pagan/Wiccan

    Inverteved Pentagram: Satanist.

I do not understand what is so logical about it.

Could someone explain this to me slowly?

I'm a LaVeyan Satanist, and personally I really get ticked off when people freak out and call me a Satan worshiper because they hear the word "Satan"..

It all starts with being Atheist, as the High Priest said. :XD I love the sins. Stupidity? Oh yes. I also very much like the rules and statements. Anton was an absolute genius.

I started as a Christian, then about a year ago converted to Atheism, then just recently have converted to LaVeyan Satanism. I really wish I could have attended one of the speeches LaVey gave.

Don't you have to pay to be a member of their church? Kinda seems like a waste of money to me, especially when it's not really a religion, it's just a set of morals. (Sorry if I seem rude--I don't like religions that demand money from followers.)

Yes, you do. At first I thought it was kind of a waste, but then I was like "if people really want to be a part of the religion, they can pay."

Of course I suppose you could just not pay and still call yourself one..
