No, I believe people are naturally interested in persecution. My history teacher has the class study Nazi Germany rather than Japan because the kids prefer it, although she thinks the Japanese course would be more interesting. Something about Nazism fascinates us, mm? I remember being swept up by it from primary school ... up until last year when I actually studied it in class.
- Peter Petrelli.:
Is it wrong that now I want to research the History of the persecution of the Jews? :shifty
- bellerophon.:
- Don't quote me on that, I could be wrong. But some of the crimes they were accused of (i.e. requiring the blood of Christian babies for making their food kosher or something) would be more than heinous enough to earn that sort of punishment.
I don't think it was a mass thing, but my dad (lawyerly and wise :shifty) mentioned it once in a discussion we had about Jews.
I remember we watched this documentary in RE in year 8 about Hitler and his reasons for doing what he did. There were photographs and stuff and I just remembered some of the graphic stuff.
Now I feel sick for thinking about it :shifty
They showed us this awful movie. I can't remember the name. But ... the bodies, and the living, -shudder- it was awful. They didn't seem human. And the way the Germans running the camp treated them...
