Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs. It's a memoir of his childhood, and what a crazy childhood it is! It's just...wow. It was amazing, really. :yah

Choke by Chuck Palahniuk. I love his writing style.
    Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Just amazing.
Pet Sematary by Stephen King (Honestly, the only Stephen King book I didn't have to force myself to read.)
    The Giver by Lois Lowry.
I Am the Cheese by Robert Cormier.
Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli. I read this in the sixth grade and it was really good. Even though I thought Leo was a girl for the first half of it.
A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck. I found it mush better than the prequal A Long Way from Chicago.
Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. Who would have thought that a boy stuck in the woods would be so entertaining.
Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. I like books based around WWII.
A Coming Evil by Vivian Vande Velde.

I can't believe no one suggested these books.

Wicked: The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of the West is like one of the most amazing books I have ever read. It's so cool to hear the Witch's side of everything, because the world seen through Elphaba's [the witch] eyes is pretty cool.
Nineteen Minutes. Frankly I'm more than a little shocked that with all the mentionings of Jodi Picoult no one said this book. It's an amazing read that I finished in one day while I had in-school suspension [yeah I know, bad kid], and it has one of my all-time favorite quotes in it.
    Peter: Get off...
Matt: Yeah, you wish you could.
Peter: Matt, how long is your dick?
Matt: Wouldn't you like to know, homo.
Peter: No, I just wanted to know if it was long enough for you to go fuck yourself.
    Amazing.
And Life Expectancy. Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors and this book was his best so far that I have read. It kept me soooo interested and it had as many twists as a bag of pretzels. I highly recommend it.

That's al lI can think of right now

The "Cirque Du Freak" and "Demonata" series by Darren Shan are good. Someone on here mentioned them, only I don't think they made them out too good. I will admit that "Cirque Du Freak" is a bit better than "Demonata" (in my opinion) but both are good to read. Well...I'm actually still reading "Demonata".

Oh...and anything by Stephen King...

Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

It's about music and running around Manhattan at night after a concert, and it's being made into a movie that's coming out in October, I think? It was really funny, but contains a lot of swearing.

I recommend Cell, by Stephen King. I don't really know how to genre-ize it, but it's an apocalypse-type of book. It's about the end of the world. People who use cell phones start to go insane and kill everyone, but the story shifts and changes and there are twists. Even if you don't like Stephen King, I think you should read the book. It's...different. :cute:
