I have an extremely secure job and I'm in the final stages of getting into the police. They aren't offensive and they do understand that for me it's not fashion, it's a lifestyle

Think I might start work on a half-sleeve as a Christmas present to myself. Just depends on my finances.

My first tattoo was a treble clef on my left wrist. I know what I want for my second tattoo. I want the phrase "hell is empty and all the devils are here" from 'The Tempest' tattooed onto my ribs, on my right hand side. The first time I read the play, I loved the idea that life is full of suffering, but we can overcome the struggles and become a better person no matter what we have to face in the process. 'The Tempest' has been one of, if not my favourite Shakespeare play since I was 13/14, and this is an idea I try and live my life by. So I want the tattoo almost as a reminder to myself that things will always get better, even if it doesn't seem that way initially.

My biggest worry at the moment is trying to find the font which won't look too odd at some point in the future, like if I fell pregnant and the skin got all stretchy or whatever may happen to my body. I'll probably stick with Times New Roman or Georgia because they're simple but elegant, in my view. Absolutely dreading the pain though, because everyone I've talked to says that getting their ribs tattooed was ridiculously painful.

If I ever get a tattoo I'm going to get it right on my ass and it's going to say "your name"

And yes, I am copying Steve-O File

And I also want to get a tattoo inside my bottom lip.

I have a bow on the back of my neck and one I'm going to get in a few weeks is a lightening bolt behind my ear as a birthday present to myself.. Unsure if I want it yellow (I know yellow fades like mad) or multi-coloured just because I'm that kinda person haha.

I'm going to America next year and want a tattoo on my wrist. Very unsure what to get though...

I have my transplant date with stars for my mom, my dad, my stepmom, and my oldest younger brother on my right foot (purple, red, pink, blue). And then I have the word "survivor" and stars for my other four younger siblings (green, orange, yellow, white) on my left foot. Finally, I have a solid black tribal heart on my left hip. I want to get a few more, but I'm not sure when I'll get around to it.

My first tattoo was a simple quote on my lower back (tramp stamp if you want to get technical), that says, "We will see this through."
Since it was just one color, my professional artist just used one outline needle, and those actually hurt the most (the outline is moreso the most painful part of the tattoo). Plus, because it was on my back, the tattoo did have to cross over my spine, which stung a little, but the whole thing was nowhere near as bad as I thought. That simple design, however, took only 20 minutes to tattoo.
I have one other tattoo, a Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer) on my upper left arm, also in black and grey.
I plan on getting a total of nine or ten tattoos altogether, and I've actually made an appointment to get my third very soon.

My first tattoo was a diamond on my wrist, that I paid 8 bucks for. The guy that did it was an amateur artist. It didn't come out bad, but, it could of been done a bit better. I love it with every fiber of my being.

My second one was an infinity symbol on my right wrist, it was 13 bucks. And again, done by the same guy. It actually came out looking really good, but I ended up screwing it up by scratching at it in my sleep. :c

My third one, which is also my most recent, is a crescent moon & star tattooed behind my right ear. It's matching with my best friend. My moon is blue, which is her favorite color. And her moon is purple, which is my favorite color. My first professional tattoo! Surprisingly, it didn't hurt at all. The only part where it slightly "hurt" was when my tattoo guy was shading it. Other than that, totally painless.

My advice to anyone wanting to get tattoos:
Don't let anyone give you that "Oh you're gonna regret doing that to your body when you're old" or "you'll never get a job if you have tattoos" bullshit. Firstly, are you really gonna care what you look like when you're 70 or 80? Probably not. And not being able to get a job? Most tattoos can be COVERED. My sister's boyfriend has a GOOD PAYING job at a HOSPITAL. And he has almost a full sleeve, plus tattoos on his hands and fingers.

But be aware, do not ever get something that you're not gonna want a year from now. Tattoo removal is expensive and painful. Make sure it's something that has a significant amount of meaning to you.

My older brother payed almost £2000 for his. It was a professional one, a huge photo-realistic geisha girl and dragon on the whole of his back. It's absolutely amazing. He's a tattoo artist himself, and he says that you should pay at £100 at the very least so you have a better chance of leaving with something you like, rather than a cheap amateur thing.

I've got three tattoos at the moment. 'I am not afriad to keep on living' across each arm which is lyrics from Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance. They were the first band I truly fell head over heels for. Ever since I first heard the line 'I am not afriad' it made me choke up and wish that I wasn't so afraid. My brother paid for the tattoo for my 18th birthday, not long after I'd just started to make my recovery so I feel it truly fits.

I also have 'we're all mad here' on my chest with the cheshire cat just above it, half faded in. My entire family hate this tattoo but I love it. I'm a huge Disney fan and I plan on getting several Disney-themed tattoos. But the line 'we're all mad here' reminds me that a disorder doesn't have to hold you back.

I also have a forest spirit from Studio Ghibli on each collar bone, because I'm so fascinated with everything Ghibli and the forest spirits always seemed so protective yet childlike at the same time.

You can see them here Cute

I'm getting my first large tattoo over the holidays. It's a design the artist is drawing up for my, of a girl tangled up and half-made of wires that are attached to her mind, her chest and her arm. It's the first part of half-sleeves that I'm getting done over the next few years. I cannot wait.

I have a cherry blossom tree with the word "Leo" in Japanese, for my star sign on my right shoulder, I love it. Except for the fact that it was not done in a shop, my cousin next door at the time did it :P It came out amazing, but the ink has faded quite a bit so I'm do for a retouch some time soon when I'm able to save up money for it :/ sucks because I'm impatient and I want it to be fully done, it's important to me :P

My next piece of art that I recently decided and feel very strong about is lyrics from Flyleaf, which is "Fire From The Tongues of Liars" I think I want it on my arm, maybe my foot xD if not there, I want "Fully Alive" on my forearm.

I have decided that I want either a dragonfly or an owl on my wrist, I saw a really cute owl design but I want the artist to make it his own. And an owl is my favourite animal.

I also want a pink/orange tiger lily with the phrase 'Seize the day or die regretting' from 'Seize the day' by Avenged Sevenfold round it. I was thinking about round my ribs but that will hurt like a bitch, I know it will! That phrase is important to me because I feel that I have had opportunities in the past which I have just ignored, and I want to be able to say that from now on I won't regret anything and take any opportunities that come to me.

I'm getting a lightening bolt tattoo behind my left ear in a months time for my 20th birthday. I can't wait!

Decided a few days ago my Disney vault/filmstrip tattoo will have to be bigger than half my arm. It'll extend most of the way down with several broken up filmstrips and the vault probably taking up most of my upper arm. Am excited.

    ---

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to 'fix' my back tattoo. The pink heart is not what I wanted at all. I'm thinking of adding some color art around the hands and maybe a world instead the hands. I don't need to do much too it, just add stuff to make it a bit better. Pic. Thoughts?

I'm getting my first tattoo for my birthday next June, it's one I've wanted since I was a kid, it's celtic knot (I'm irish) in the shape of a crecent moon (lots of family symbology, I've always been called The Moon Child) in green (i used to want it in black but black ink is a dangerous thing if it comes out badly, very hard to get a cover up.) I'm thinking of getting it on my hip, I knot it's painful but if my 16 year old cousin can get tatted on her ribs, I can handle a hip tattoo.

I've seen some not so good tattoos. By boyfriend has tons that his MOM gave him, all amateur crooked stuff with bad coloring and shading :/ I still love them but I wish his mom had been more careful what she tattooed on her son. One's so bad he's going to get it covered up and changed into a Dragonball from Dragon Ball Z. Some of the others he's not sure what to do about.

Honestly? Its a bit of both tehe And I really didn't want to get the Deathly Hallows cos like everyone has that. Also, I did not fancy getting the lightening bolt on my forehead. I thought behind my ear was a discreet place and automatically doesn't assume you're a Harry Potter fan. Mr. Green

I think a world would be really cool in the middle of the hands. It would be very different and I reckon it would look really lovely. OMGYES And I love, love love the idea of the disney film strip! You need to post a pic when its done. It sounds completely AMAZING!

I think anything you add to the center would look good, as long as it had some kind of hard outline. The letters have a black outline, the hands are black lines, so just having color by itself doesn't... match? I think a world would solve that problem, and blues and greens would cover the pink up no problem.

(That tattoo is awesome by the way. is it from something?)
