My tattoo artist refuses to tattoo partners names on each other because he said he's sick of having to cover them up six months later XD I'd probably do the same as you, Dru. I think the only time I wanted a name tattoo on me was when I was fourteen XD

I'd love tattoos. I don't know if I'll ever get them though as I have a phobia of needles, but I'm able to stand getting piercings, so maybe.
At the moment, I'd love to get my cat's paw print tattooed on my forearm, more towards the crook of my arm though. She's getting old and I'd love a reminder of her to always be on me. She's very dear to me. ♥ ♥ ♥

I've been obsessed with getting tattoos every since I sat and watched my dad get one when I was 5. I already have ten or twelve planned out, to be narrowed down to a select few. I think that tattoos should be something that describes you and defines how you feel/who you are. They can mean something important while still being beautiful and unique. They hurt like a bitch, but I definitely think that they're worth it.

I want to get one on my upper thigh, kind of like a Cutie Mark in MLP:FiM. Mine would represent my love of comedy, its importance to me, and my ambition to make others laugh. And if I get the design I want, it'll be a small nod to my love of theatre as well. As of now, I'm thinking of making it a comedy drama mask, infused with a sun.

The problem is that I don't want to hide it from my parents. I could, since I can hide it easily (unless they saw me in a swimsuit), but I feel like it would just be messy if they found out about it after I got it done. I just don't know how to bring the subject up :/

I'd like something simple, below the ball of my left hand.

    we are time
    we are space
    we are infinite

Nothing major. I want to showcase my love of science and logic in some permanent way that if I ever regress back from it I'll have something to remember the most intelligent period of my life.

So guess who's getting her first tattoo Tuesday? This girl! It's gonna be the deathly hallows symbol with "I solemnly swear I am up to no good" on the top sides and "mischief managed" on the bottom. The triangle and the line (invisibility cloak and elder wand) are gonna be green and the circle (resurrection stone) is gonna be black. The thing was, I was gonna get it my 18th birthday, but my dad and mom gave consent, so after school Tuesday, I'm getting a tattoo! Mr. Green

I have three tattoos and will definitely be getting more.

    The first was this:
    Image
My favourite song by my favourite band (The Killers).

    The second was this:
    Image
I was going to get the lyrics Before you ask which way to go, remember where you've been under it but I didn't want there to be too much going on.

    And my newest is this:
    Image
This holds a lot of meaning for me. The Death's Head moth is from one of my favourite books, The Silence of the Lambs. All three represent transformation and beauty. The fact butterflies and moths can't see how beautiful they are is something I relate to.

This is my new (and FIRST) tattoo. I love it so much. I am in love with this thing. It felt like a scratch on a sunburn to me. The guy afterward was like "you did a good job. You didn't even flinch, except for small twitches which everyone's gonna do" so I was like Thumb up

[edit]But the guy at the shop had 30+ years experience and he was so cool about it and he knew what it was from. It's healing fairly well so far (it's been 2 days since I got it, and I'm editing my original post.) The one other artist walked in and was like "a harry potter tattoo? That's gonna look badass when it's done."

But really. I read almost the entire time except for texting people back and glancing at it every now and then. I will get another one in the future, believe me. I will probably get another one before I head off to college, possibly, and I know it'll be at the same shop I went to. Agh. I'm just in love with this thing. In Love My parents actually didn't think I'd go through with it. Shifty My dad thought I'd cry. lmfao

First tattoo was of my ex husband's initials and that was covered up less than a year later with a butterfly. Would like more eventually.

If I could afford it and felt comfortable with my own body, I'd probably cover my entire body with tattoos.

My boyfriend's sister has tattoos and had to hide them from her dad despite being an adult. He dislikes them and was super angry at first but now she just doesn't bother telling him.

Right away when I turn eighteen and have my own money I'm getting a tattoo. I was thinking to either get a cross with angel wings or something more personal to my goals in life.

I have one tattoo so far, and I would definitely like many more. I feel that in my line of practice when I'm out of college, tattoos shouldn't be discriminated against. I think it is a form of art. My body is a temple, I honor it, and it's a canvas. I paint on it. Cool

I have a tattoo from a Friday the 13th special, it spells 'thirteen' in a nice, readable script and the loops in the letters are filled with red. Happy face Friday the 13th's are my favorite days and thirteen is my lucky number. It's on my left hip. Other people at school thought I was stupid for getting it. File

As you can see though, I am not opposed to tattoos! I want a sleeve eventually, but I don't know if I want to get it in black, white, and red or if I want to do it in color. I've also thought between getting an underwater/pirate themed sleeve or a roses and skulls/graveyard themed sleeve.

When I get money and move out I plan on getting tattoos (as well as piercings). I have quite a few tattoos already planned out and love finding inspiration for more. I hope to have sleeves before I die. That's really the only place I want tattoos other than my back, knuckles, and maybe near my hips.

I enjoy tattoos. I have 10 (which people are surprised by because it doesn't look like that many honestly) so I have to if I got them, but I'm really particular about how I go about deciding on and ultimately getting my tattoos now. I know a lot of people who got tattoos simply for the sake of having tattoos and didn't put thought into what they were getting so they hate them now. I mean, I got my first one on a whim and six years later I don't hate it. I wouldn't want to remove it because I think I'd be really sad to look down at my foot and not have it there anymore, it's just that it does need a touch up job very badly and I'm not bothered with it. I brush it off as my stupid first tattoo because that's all it is to me anymore.

So for anything I want done now, I draw it up and wait a year on it and if I'm still aching for it after that time, I then start putting aside the money for it.

My rule for myself personally is I want people to look at my tattoos and get a good sense of who I am and what's important to me. I know that tattoos are different for everybody and everyone has their own reasons for getting them. That's just what I hope to achieve when decorating my body.

I have one tattoo and it is one of my favorite things to ever exist.
It's the wheel from a ship with the words "be the one to guide me".
It's part of set; my best friend has the other one.
Hers says: "but never hold me down".
I didn't really think it hurt, but I also get piercings without blinking.
I want more but my boyfriend isn't really big on them. Oh well.

I plan on getting quite a few tattoos when I have the money. I'm getting one soon because a friend (who is a professional tattoo artist) said that if I wanted to get a tattoo in remembrance of my brother, he'd do it for free.
