I want to know how people do them themselves -thinks-
Not that I would do it for fear I'd die!
    Just interested.
    Any ideas?
I did one myself on my ankle.
Basically it's just a something sharp and some non poisonous, non fading ink.
It hurts for a bit, and you have to take care of it so it doesn't get infected.
I actually wasn't in my right mind at the time that I did it, but I don't regret it.
I wouldn't recommend it though. Go to a professional if you want one.

I've been wanting a tattoo for as long as I can remember.
I always said "I'll get one on my 18th birthday", but then that came and went without me getting one because I didn't have the money.
I know what I want, though, and I'm going to get it as soon as I have the money.
I've discussed it with my mom, and she said that as long as I know I won't regret it, as long as it's thought out, then she's okay with it. And she'll help me do some research to find a good, safe, professional place. Besides, my sister got a tattoo without even telling my mom, and it was stupid, pointless, meaningless, etc.

My tattoo is going to be simple. Just words.
    "Our time is almost here"
on my upper back, below my neck, between my shoulder blades area.
It's from my favourite song in the entire world from my favourite band in the entire world. It means more to me than I could ever begin to explain. It's the song that makes me cry every single time they play it live.
And the words, although simple, mean a lot to me. And they'll always mean a lot to me. I've wanted the same tattoo for over two years now, and I'm sure that even twenty, thirty, forty years from now, I'm not going to regret it.

My sis has 'Immortality' on her wrist and while most people swear that they hurt more there, I was with her when she had it done and she barely cringed.

She was originally getting the complete lyrics that match it, two guesses what song it's from Naughty, but you have to take into account that the smaller the print and depending on how close you have it done... after a few years and even months it will start to blend into each other.

Seen it happen to a good friend that has full lyrics around her wrist. She wears a watch over it now to hide it, it's gotten that bad.

^ I think you have to figure that one out on your own. Because, really, it all depends on the person and the tattoo.

Sometimes it's really not a good idea to get tattoos when you're a teenager. Not because you might regret it, but if you're still growing your tattoo can become distorted and even if you picked out something you loved, you might not love it when it's stretched and out of proportion. I guess you just need to be sure you're done growing first.

I'd like one on the back of my neck. One of my friends drew me a star I adore. I'd like to put some sort of text with it, but I'm iffy about using song lyrics. A band I love now... I might not in 10 years. :shifty

If you really want one then I say go for it, but be sure you really want one.
It's funny I've been wanting a tattoo for a very long time and I finally asked my dad and he was like "If you really want it, then yeah." so he's paying for it and singing for me since I'm not 18 yet lol.

But the tattoo I'm getting is a smiley face because it represent my personality and it's something I would never regret getting.

^ That's why some places refused to do barcode my brother's on his ankle. They said he'd still grow and they didn't want it to stretch. He eventually found a place that would do it. He never grew, so it all worked out. However, he was 19 at the time...guys basically stop growing by then.

One thing I do know, don't get a tattoo on your stomach if you want a baby. It'll stretch and be all...ew later on. Same if you gain then lose weight.

I really think that's why the law in most states is 18 because people generally don't grow after that age. I could be wrong. xD

There's not really base prices for tattoo's; your paying for the quality of work that will be on you until you die, it also depends on what size your getting it too. Though I would advise for you to wait until your a bit older before you run head onto to getting a tattoo, you'll be living a long life, no reason to fill your skin with ink just now.

    I love tattoos :)
I see them as a way to express you and how you feel.
Your a blank canvas really and its your choice what you want to put onto it.

I know I definitely want at least these tattoos and I've thought about them thoroughly:
    1. The Batman bat symbol on the upper left side of my back.
    2. The first names of my parents, my sister, and my brother in the shape of a heart on my back somewhere. I love my family, so I know I won't regret it at all.
    3. I might not get this one, but I really want to get half of a heart on one foot and the other half on the other foot, so that when I put my feet together the heart is fully together.

I'm gonna get at least the first two when I turn 18, but I'll probably wait and think more on the third one.

And there is a reputable tattoo parlor willing to tattoo and underage person?

^ Some states allow it if the parent is there. Some allow it at a certain age without a parent.
Indiana will tattoo a 17 year old. My sister took my brother there (since she went to school there at the time) when he was 17 to get his first one.

I was thinking about a rose wrapped around my hand, three small stars on my hip (one for each of my little sisters) and a dragon the back of my shoulder.

Does anyone have a suggestion that might look better than the dragon? I might not even have that one done...

But the stars are staying, for sure. I've thought about them for years, even just like, randomly daydreaming about it in Geometry or Algebra (I really don't like math...).

I don't really think that I would get a tattoo just because it looks cool. I would only ever get a tattoo for a reason, so that I have a story behind it.
The tattoo I have now has a story behind it, even if it isn't one I paricularly like.

If I ever did get a tattoo, I'd get the Smashing Pumpkins heart symbol. Maybe on my wrist.

I don't think I'd be able to take the pain though.

I wanted that, its real nice. Ville suits it cause he has a nice flat tummy and good hipbones. I want something related to HIM, a portrait of Ville probably. I just need to watch where I get it.
