I dont think the Holy Spirit is transmitted from anyone, you get the Holy Spirit when you find God and can understand what it means to have the Holy Spirit...basically, I believe that the Holy Spirit is like a Guardian Angel.
If you don't mind me asking, why do you believe this way?
You don't physically get the Holy Spirt form anyone. I can't think of the word I'm looking for, but it's sort of like it's learned I guess.

And I feel like it watches over you and acts like a conscience, so I guess I think it's more of a conscience than a Guardian Angel, but it's still like it's looking out for you, ya know?

The Holy Spirit is a real person who came to reside within Jesus Christ's true followers after Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven (Acts 2). Jesus told His apostles...

"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." [John 14:16-18]

He's a real person? I don't think I've heard that, I thought he was a 'thing' [for lack of a better word] that was given to us to guide us.

I was taught that the Trinity is made up of three separate "people" who are also the same: God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost/Spirit.

The Holy Spirit--for Christians--is God; part of the Trinity. You know: "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit"?
So I guess that if you don't believe in the Trinity, this concept is a little difficult to understand.

Baptism the first and most important sacrament of the Catholic Church, because it's basically the entrance to your spiritual life. It's a rebirth, I guess, making us members of Christ. Original sin is washed away, and we're blessed with the Holy Spirit.

I think that, if you're serious about Jesus and Christianity, you should definitely be baptized. But I mean, if you've grown up in a home where you weren't exposed to these types of things, I doubt that you will never get to heaven. Because what were you going to do about it, right?

But seriously, I think that it's necessary if you're a Christian. It's a gift, really, from God. Who wouldn't want to be a part with the Holy Spirit?

Okay, yeah, I know about the Holy Trinity, I just never thought of the Holy Spirit as a person, just as a spirit that resides in you. I was taught that Jesus was the flesh part, the Holy Spirit was the spirit part, and God was the...haha I'm not quite what to classify Him as...

I have the Holy Spirit moving inside of me.
    I've never been baptized.
And if baptism is such a gift from God, then why doesn't he fucking baptize us?

Do you know that you have it, or do you assume that you do?
We don't have God's grace because we were kicked out of Eden and the talk about the original sin.

I can feel the Holy Spirit moving inside of me. I can't prove it, but you can't prove that if you get water dumped over your head that you have it moving inside of you either.

Well, okay. You're right. But I didn't say that you couldn't feel the Holy Spirit without being baptized. I believe that God gives His whole self to all of us, regardless if we all want Him or not. (But I also don't mean that not being baptized means that you don't want God). =P
So of course, even those who have not been baptized ceremoniously can still feel the presence of the Spirit. And the Father and Son, for that matter.
But I guess I'm just one for tradition. To me, making the step to become baptized can help reinforce your effort to become a servant of the Lord, cheesy as that phrase just sounded. Smiley
Or even as a parent, to make the move and get your kid baptized. It's a tradition, and that means a lot to me. (Although the whole "get your baby baptized" thing presents a whole new issue; there's a thread for that... let's not go there).

And I think that, like I said, God has already done everything He can for us, regardless of baptism. Remember, even Jesus got baptized. And he was the flippping Son of God.

I come from Southern Baptists which is kinda like an actual Baptist but more crazy(from where I am really). What bothers me is that people think you need to be baptized once and only once. Oh my God Heaven forbid someone wants to be baptized again! If someone feels lost and they have been dunked in water before let them again and pass no judgement!

    Yeah, I know.
But Jesus did a lot of things I'm never going to do and no one ever tells me I should do those.

In my religion you only get baptised once because you can only recieve that sacrament once. If you get baptised again it won't mean anything because you've already been baptised.

Again, okay. But that wasn't my point.
I was only reinforcing my own reasoning.
I'm saying that I think it's important for Christians to go through with Baptism because, by Jesus asking for it Himself, He connected Himself with everyone else.
To me that's really cool, and I want to be as much like Jesus as I can.
    Simple, simple.

Finally someone undestands what I've been saying this whole time. You can only get baptized once, because what baptism literally is is getting rid of the original sin. You don't/can't have more than one original sin!

It's slightly different, but still does the same thing.
I was christened and you had to be baptised before you got confirmed. And a few other girls were only named, not baptised or christened. I was fine, but the others had to be baptised first.
I'm not sure what the differences are really...
